I explain the issue and he said "oh, it's your SIM card. Stop into any Verizon store at any time and they'll change it out, takes 5 minutes". So I asked if he could just do it and he said "not without an appointment". There was no one in the store. So we left. Took a week for me to be home and made an appointment at this location. Showed up and was greeted by Tristen. I explained my issue and Tristen took 45 seconds to pop out my SIM card, only to find that it was the card. Even prior to looking at my SIM card, he stated he believed it was an issue with the account itself. So, we made some easy changes and guess what... phone works WAY better and does what it should. Tristan had stated he literally just started with the company and it had been his 3rd week. He was super nice and very professional in helping me troubleshoot my phone problems. He may be new, but he was right. He didn't just blow me off like the NW store... which we have had many issues with over the past couple years. Who knew this little gem existed. The phones (5) were supposed to be FREE ... not one month have we not been charged a fee for each phone! This is bate and switch!!!! Fraud!!! And the internet is half the speed I was told!! He also was so warm and enthusiastic with my kids even though they were all over the place. It meant so much to me when he said they should come back and hang out another time. It's hard as a Mom to do all the things but everyone there is focused on making life be just a little easier. I saw several older people who came in that were struggling with the technology and every staff member was incredibly patient making sure that each customer understood how to use what they had. One customer came in and hugged Montay because they were so thankful for all the help he provided! I was touched that even when they didn't have the product I wanted in the store, they recommended I go to different corporate stores that may have it in stock. I couldn't believe that they were be willing to lose business just to help me out. The corporate stores lied over the phone to get me to go to the store and they didn't have anything in stock. The corporate stores not only said they had it in stock but that they would hold it for me. I then learned that corporate doesn't have that policy, that they would never put something on hold for me. I spent hours trying every phone number, every extension, every option they offer... and still couldn't get a single human who actually understood my issue. It felt like talking to a script, not a real support team. To make it worse, this store apparently doesn't even have a direct line. You can't reach anyone who works there. Your best bet? Call the Menomonie location -- at least you'll get an actual person who knows what's going on. Or honestly, just walk into the Eau Claire store in person because trying to call them is a guaranteed headache. Extremely frustrating. Huge waste of time. Do better.
