Owner Ray Baca, has created a dream space for any event planner. The walls are original historic brick, and the furnishing is clean and modern. My favorite feature is the raw feel; this space can easily be outfitted to fit any event. The venue is also unique because of the kitchen and easy setup space for catering. You will not find another venue of this caliber with this unique setup anywhere is downtown Wilmington. The central location is also wonderful if the weddings located in downtown Wilmington. I am using this venue to host a business owner's info session. Mr. Baca has been a pleasure to work with and I hope to host other events here in the future. Instead, the atmosphere felt tense, as if customers were an inconvenience rather than guests. Ironically, most of the staff were genuinely pleasant and friendly. Unfortunately, that wasn't true of the family member working there, whose attitude was just as hostile. It seems the culture starts at the top, and it shows. The saddest part is that this area is full of wonderful wineries where you're treated like you're appreciated. Those owners are welcoming, personable, and grateful for your business. There's simply no reason to spend your time or money at a place where you're made to feel unwelcome. Great hospitality costs nothing. Sadly, it's something this winery seems unwilling to provide. We won't be back, and I'd encourage others to support the many nearby wineries that understand customer service and know how to make visitors feel welcome.

Marnie is the best; she helped with every aspect of the planning all the way up to and through the wedding day. She helped in coordinating the ceremony and the reception. Being from out of state it was great having someone I could rely on to recommend places (hair salon, florist, cake, etc) within my budget. Marnie was great with answering any questions or concerns I had. She really knows her stuff. The food is delicious, trust me I've had it several times. As soon as we got down here, a last minute bomb cyclone struck and left us to abandon our plans. Luckily, The Cooper House was available and these guys salvaged our wedding. My bride and all our guests were stunned at how beautiful the property was. We were able to have the ceremony in the old general store. The lighting, chairs, and overall ambiance was perfect. They even left us water and champagne for a toast! We were allowed to take pictures on the grounds (and we did when we got a break from the rain) and the place is gorgeous. I cannot stress how pleased I am with how it turned out with only 24 hours of planning. I can't even imagine how much better it would be with more planning. I highly recommend this place and thank them from the bottom of my heart for helping a complete stranger out.

This is a beautiful, historic building with exposed brick walls, original hardwood flooring, exposed beams and tons of charm! The entrance can be found on Ottis F. Jones Parkway, and is on the backside of the building on Person St. near the historic Market House. There is plenty of convenient and free parking as well as a handicapped ramp that is very handy. We look forward to booking Volta soon for an event in the near future!

Tina is the consummate ambassador of the brand, professional, knowledgeable and most importantly, personable. One of the best liquor tastings we've experienced. Toni, our server, was very nice and understanding when we told her the fish from the fish and chips order just wasn't very good. According to the eater, it was "too fishy tasting," and the texture was different than typical deep fried fish. My son-in-law had the steak tips, and he cleaned his plate, so I'm guessing they were good. I had the Po' Boy sandwich, the third one I've had in the last few weeks!! Mine was good, but instead of a hoagie-like bun, it came on hamburger buns, so not quite as big as I thought it'd be. Still pretty good, though! The sweet tater fries were excellent!
