Ron Taylor has built quite an agrivino and agritourism venue right outside Dublin and Elizabethtown, NC. Linda Timberlake and I did it recently one afternoon and evening! It was all 4-lane highway and only took about 1.5 hours from Zebulon. We've stayed at this beautiful vineyard twice now as Harvest Host guests in our Airstream Travel Trailer, and we're already looking forward to our next visit! The hosts are incredibly kind and courteous, making us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The property is stunning--peaceful ponds, tree-lined paths, and a gorgeous vineyard backdrop that creates a serene and relaxing atmosphere. The bathhouse and restrooms are spotless, and the RV hookups are conveniently located and well-maintained. This place truly offers the perfect blend of nature, comfort, and hospitality. Paid our first visit to Lu Mil Vineyard yesterday and we had a great experience enjoying the light show and the buffet dinner. Little bit of a drive from Leland but well worth it. Fantastic value: dinner, dessert, drink and a light show for $25 per adult. The light show was as nice as the show in Mrytle Beach. The employees were all very friendly and polite which contributed to a nice evening. We had no children with us but they lots of things for them to enjoy and participate in, great family events. We look forward to seeing what other activities they have throughout the year. read more

I'm not a big fan of sweet wines but we stumbled across this winery and decide to stop! They had rows of vines all around which was cool to see. It looks like a large property and we found out they have cabins to rent, fishing ponds, general store, gift shop and tasting area. They do 3 for free or full tasting for $5. We tried their 3 most popular which were too sweet for me but the host let us sample a semi-dry, a slushie and their Bloody Mary mix. All were nice and she was very friendly and told us lots of info about the winery, their events and the NC wine trail. read more

This is a really a beautiful and peaceful place. We went to winery and tried all the wines! They also have some different flavors of ciders for those who don't want alcohol. At end of wine tasting we got a slushy and added whatever wine we wanted from ones we tried. The staff were all friendly and gave us history of the winery. There's lots of old memorabilia on shelves and walls. Cute gift shop with all kinds of edibles jellies and pickled goodies! We purchased a few bottles and since we were staying overnight in a cabin on premises she gave us already chilled bottles. We took one out on patio and watched rain roll in.. so nice and quiet.. clean fresh air!! Our little cabin was just a standard cabin. It's cheapest choice but had everything we needed. I think for when we came it was like $115 a night but varies depending on time of year. One side looks into vineyard other through the trees and to lake.. beautiful property..you only heard frogs at night and geese in distance in the morning. Our room had king bed dish tv and a bath room.. counter had small coffee maker with fixings, a microwave and fridge.. we really enjoyed the wine and our stay.. they do have variety of wines for everyone's pallet! I came here on a Sunday afternoon with a group of 3 people. We came when it opened at 1pm so the place was empty. We did the full wine tasting and tried 9 wines. They also made us a mixed drink with peach cider and a grape cider slushie. You get to keep the glass. The grape cider slushie was the best so definitely get a large size later. The outside patio was nice to sit and enjoy our slushies. We also walked around the property which was well maintained. They had cute cabins and a large fishing pond. There were giant catfish in the pond. Since the place was empty, we took a lot of pictures in the vineyard. We bought a few bottles. I definitely liked the Harmony Hall wine. I would come back if I'm ever in the area. read more

We had a lovely stay at Lu-Mil Vineyards on September 3rd as part of Harvest Host. Andy helped us get settled into our spot and gave us all sorts of great stories about the vineyard and its history. The grounds are absolutely gorgeous abs worth a walk around the land. The site was level and had power and water. We did the tasting and walked away with 4 bottle of their wine and one wine slushy. Super cute property, even in the winter! Even though the vines are dormant, they have a great space both indoor and out (a giant porch with rocking chairs as well as tables). The man who helped us on Friday afternoon was super kind and helpful and gave us great ideas for another time: you can bring your own picnic and buy a bottle of wine to share on the patio. On their property there are 9 cabins and two ponds with water features to enjoy. Inside the gift shop there are plenty of jams, jellies, marmalades, pickled items as well as great gifts for anyone especially wine lovers! For the free wine tasting you get three tastes of whatever wines you want in a plastic cup. However, we highly recommend doing the full tasting for $3. You get to taste all the wines and try one mixed drink and one slushy.. and then you keep the glass! We found it to be a great value and their bottles of wine are less than $10 except for the Christmas wine which is just over. This would be a wonderful place to spend and afternoon in the spring or the fall to enjoy the outdoor patio (bring some cards or dice too) and their lovely bottles of wine! read more

This was the first time visiting Lu Mil and it's great for a romantic over night trip. However, we recommend that the website say check in is from 4 pm to 6 pm so you are aware of the short check in window. Also, they need better signs so you can see the numbers of the buildings. Finally, the water smells really bad. We had to come home and take another shower. We didn't get a chance to taste the wine or the goodies. read more

I found this vineyard on Groupon and said... Why not! It was a couple of hours away but it looked really cool online. I read the reviews and everyone had such wonderful things to say. This vineyard is so adorable! All of the wines were delicious! They have everything from dry muscadine wines to very sweet ones, cider, and even slushees. You get to taste 6 wines, 2 sangrias, and 2 "mixed drinks" (non-alcoholic mixes that they add a white wine to it). The lady and gentleman behind the bar were very knowledgeable. In addition to wine, they had jellies and other spreads that you could purchase. We also got 2 free wine glasses with the tasting. We purchased wine slushees after the tasting for the low price of $3.50! We ended up getting 2 bottles of wine which were also fairly inexpensive. In addition, they also have space that you can rent for events. When we went, they were having a wedding. There is a ton of parking. They also have cabins that you can rent if you want to stay over! They're adorable! I want to come back and stay. The scenery is amazing! The 2 hour drive to me was well worth it! read more

What a wonderful place to visit. The wines are excellent. Walking around the grounds is relaxing and peaceful. We had a wonderful visit today! I'm sorry I don't remember the woman's name who helped us, but she was friendly, funny, and knowledgeable. It was a rainy Saturday, but we enjoyed a lovely wine tasting of all of their wines (which are quite good). I highly recommend the "Old Cumberland" if, like me, you prefer a dryer wine. Also, I must tell you that their Raspberry Chipotle Jelly is TO DIE FOR. Please make sure you stop by if you're in the area. They are super nice, and their products are A+ quality. read more

Lu mil is a beautiful 50 acre romantic retreat. I have tasted hundreds of muscadine wines. And quickly bought a case at Lu mil. Also my husband and I swept away with the pristine grounds stayed in cabin 8 for the night. Walking the grounds and sitting on a the porch sipping wine brought us immense peace. We came on a Tuesday evening and it was amazing!! From the wine list, I recommend Taylor Divine and Sir Walter Raleigh. I loved White Sangria, too! You must try their Muscadine Slushie with your choice of wine! It was so good, we came back the next day for another one! The environment is quiet, comfortable, and beautiful. This place is truly a hidden gem. Unbelievable. The whole ride up to the Vineyard my fingers were crossed that this place wouldn't be a bust. Well, the wine gods were smiling upon us and granted us a great wine adventure. First of all the ladies who work the wine tasting, sandwich counter, and gift shoppe are unbelievable. They deserve a gold star and then some. We decided to do the wine tasting for $3 and I think it was for 6 or 8 different wines and that included the glass. Heck ya! They were hopping in there too, tons of people in and out for wine tasting and buying sandwiches. Inside the facility is adorable, they have two barns for events and weddings. In between our tasting when they slowed down a bit one of the ladies gave us a tour of the grounds and showed us the barns. They were beautiful. Inside the gift shop (where they hold the wine tasting) they have their own made and jarred jams, jelly's, pickles, hot sauce, etc. Tons and tons of Lu Mil goodies. They also have lots of samplings to try of their jarred goods. Also, VERY VERY clean. Usually tasting things look gross to me, but this was great I HIGHLY recommend the chow chow if you like spicy food. It is amazing with tortilla chips. We ordered two sandwiches to eat while we were there and mulled over which wines we were going to take home with us. I had a wine slushy, and that made it a little easier to choose. We walked out with a case of wine which they take 20% off of and we bought a ton of jelly, chow chow, and pickles. The grounds of the vineyard are beautiful and they have cabins that can be rented and two huge ponds for fishing and boating. I want to live at Lu Mill. Can't wait to go back! read more

My husband and I just got home from a weekend trip. I am already looking at my calendar to see when is the soonest we can come back! We stayed in cabin one and couldn't have been happier. There was tons of hot water and the views were amazing. We did the pedal carts which were fun but lots of work. We did a wine tasting and the lady in there was a doll. Our cabin was spotless and perfect. We enjoyed driving into elizabethtown and looking around. the bed in the cabin was a king that was so comfortable I couldn't believe it. The towels were super soft and smelled great. Not like a hotel that is scratchy and smells like bleach. Thank you for a relaxing weekend get away! Will definitely be back! read more
