Went to hobby lobby the other day to look at the wreaths but, scored on the 75% of Christmas decor. At Home has lots of your home decor needs . It was pretty quiet when I went. I might have missed the rush but, you can spend lots of time just looking at the huge selections in the store. The cashier was super helpful in helping look up an item. They have tons of Halloween clearance just in case you want to save on those items for this year. They only had just a few shelves that still had Christmas ornaments , Christmas mats etc left . This is a typical at home store. There was only one register open the day after Christmas which was odd . I'm not sure why this store hasn't follow Michael's model and added fake self check outs. It was difficult to move around in the in the front and Christmas section due to the staff switching to Easter products . read more

I'm a fan!! This is the best place for seasonal decor and everyday house "stuff". Hit or miss on best prices but it is a 'one stop shop'. They have EVERYTHING. Pillows, rugs, wall art, frames, mirrors, bedding, lamps, kitchen galore, seating indoor/outdoor, etc. etc. etc. They have a good selection of niche decor also. The store is big like a warehouse (size not feel). Worth a trip! read more

The service sucks. When you do find someone they are not helpful. We spent an hour looking for a spice rack, asked for help and was told it was in housewares. The cashier suggested we go to Walmart or target instead of helping us. When we got home I took the corner cardboard off my picture frame only to discover it was broken. The bathrooms look like a nuke went off and they smell terrible. I'm giving 3 stars because things are decently priced, good clearance items and some quality items. read more

If you have like 2 1/2 free hours, yes, I recommend. Plan to stand in line for at least 20 minutes to check out. Doesn't matter what time you go... they are consistently understaffed at checkout. Other than that I love this store, great selection of home stuff read more

I love shopping the At Home store in Hoover! I get my coffee on the way there on Saturday mornings and just take my time and browse the store. They have everything you need (or don't need but maybe just want)! I always find something I like regardless! One of my favorite places to shop! read more

Due to COVID-19 and being home more, I decided to look for some patio furniture. This was a great place to start my search because this store literally has EVERYTHING that you would need for your home. The selection was nice for patio sets, but they were a prices more than what I was willing to spend. I did, however, get an idea of what I liked and did not like. I made my way around to the wall decor section and found a beautiful mirror. I did not purchase it because it was heavy and had a hard time finding a sales associate to put it in my cart. I've shopped at this store a time or two before and could easily loose track of time due the large amount of merchandise available. This is the type of store where you would need plenty of time to browse and shop. They are good about discounting items that have scratches/dents or slightly damages if you really want it. I give this store 4 stars only because of the difficulty in finding a sales associate if you need assistance getting heavy items or items that are placed high out of reach. read more

So At Home is basically what Toys R Us was for me as a child. I absolutely love this place. Yes, some items can be a bit pricey, but they generally have good deals or sales on a consistent basis. I have bought things from here to spruce up my office and my home. They really have a huge selection of a variety of items you need to make your living spaces, both home and work, look stylish. I love their candle, mirror, pillow, and artificial plant selection. They also have some great furniture choices. The only thing I can say about this place is that there aren't a lot of employees on the floor. If you have questions about something or need assistance getting items off the really high shelves, you almost always have to hunt an associate down. To me, that's some room for improvement. Overall, I really like this store and I'll probably be in there later this week for something. read more

I'm not sure how this used to be one of my favorite places to shop. The At Home in Irondale was great, before they closed and moved to Trussville. Coming to this At Home, I was hoping to be just as excited, but I actually didn't find anything I liked here at all. That was a disappointment! They still have a lot of patio decor, a huge arts and crafts section, and moderately priced kitchen tools. Looking at the furniture was the main reason I came in, but they didn't have anything I liked. Sure, you can spend $600 for a sofa in a box, but it's probably not gonna be the best quality. It's also not on display to where I could sit on it and see if it was comfortable. All you would probably have to assemble would be the legs and you would have it today. Unless you just needed a sofa you can stick in your truck and bring home today, you probably want to look elsewhere for good furniture. read more

While I love seeing so many different decor items and styles, I don't think I will be coming back to any At Home store anytime soon. Their rug section was a mess, artwork a mess, pillows a mess, etc. If I don't mind digging, I guess I could find what I wanted in the end, but who wants to do that? I think the worst thing is the price of furniture! It is cheap overpriced furniture. I love the styles, but I cannot bring myself to pay what they are charging. If the quality were to meet the price, I might be inclined to pay what they were asking. Not even a 15% off coupon (for $100 or more) could sway me today. Home décor super store! I always forget about this place and it's location at the Grove. They are at the very far end of the parking lot kind beyond Kohls. Really a large store with a really big selection for the home. If you are looking for some fresh art check these guys out. If it's your own thing you need a frame for our a unique piece they may have something to fit the bill. Lots of canvas style paintings to go along with metal art. Really an overly large selection of art is available here. Kitchen gadgets this is your place too. Several aisles of everyday gadgets at a good price. One whole aisle dedicated to BBQ supplies. Quite a good selection of furniture ranging from small tables to dressers. Possibly the biggest selection of kitchen chairs/bar stools I have ever seen in a store (including furniture stores). Outdoor furniture can be found here as well. Really good store to come in and wander around if you are looking to make any kind of decoration changes or just looking for something new or unique. Now I just need to remember they are there so I can go back a little more often. read more

Well, this is new one on me. It has the Pier 1 smell and the Lowe's look. In search of a carpet and dining chairs. Really need the daughter unit here chirping in. Most of the carpets topped out at 8x10 which is too small. The chair selection was large, but none of ones I sat in passed the comfort test. This place has everything you need in the Hoover area for home furnishing and decor. Need wall decor? Check. Furniture? Check. Christmas decorations and lights? Check. Rugs? Check. Kitchen items? Check. Whatever you are looking to furnish your home or decorate, they most likely have it. It is basically like a huge, clean warehouse of these type of items located in the Grove shopping Center near Target and Kohl's. My only complaint is it is so huge that you may have trouble finding things if you don't know where they are and occasionally may need to ask staff what you are looking for. Love the store but the staff is not nice at all. Everytime I've gone, the cashier has a huge attitude - and it's not even the same person each time. They also "forget" to ask you for your perks information and if you bring it up, they say they have to redo your whole purchase like it's a huge inconvenience. This place has great stuff but it is so unorganized. There are things all over the floor. Buggies full of items down every isle. The bathroom probably haven't been cleaned in a month. I went in today looking for a dining room table. I found the one I wanted, but couldn't find it in a box. A nice employee (Sabrina) helped me quickly determine it was the last one and took it to the register for me. Luckily it also happened to be on sale BIG TIME. When I got ready to load it in my car Sabrina came out to help me. We determined the legs needed to come off to fit it and she quickly went on the hunt for what we needed to do it. Sabrina was SO HELPFUL and so kind. Especially since it was over 90 degrees when we were taking the legs off. Whoever has the power to give her a raise and/or promotion should do so promptly. Great store. If you're familiar with the Garden Ridge franchise... This is the exact same thing apparently. Not sure why it has been rebranded. Perhaps a regional thing. Outdoor furnishings, couches, bed spreads, wall decor, pillows, dog beds, season decorations, lighting fixtures etc etc etc for whatever you may need to make your house feel more AT HOME for yourself and guests. They do have 50% and other percentage markdowns from time to time but they don't really happen enough. Otherwise items here are fairly priced. Not overly expensive nor super discount cheap. The sheer vast selection and variety of departments and items in stock is at least worth an hour browse if you've never been here. Just check em out! read more

The aisles here are always a mess, making it very hard to find what you are looking for. There is no assistance for buying things in bulk, and the customer service is trash. Do yourself a favor and just use Target. It is right across the street. read more
