But this time the store only had a couple of shoppers. Just couldn't put my finger on it, but it just didn't seem as interesting or inviting. The staff seemed a bit standoffish as well. I wanted the Catnapper Transformer because it was made in America, real leather, and all three seats have a retractable foot rest and the backs recline. I had never seen a three seat couch where all three seats recline! I called the day before to find out if this item was available on the showroom floor and I couldn't have gotten a friendlier person on the phone to help me. She was like Aunt Bea brought all of the way to 2019 to help out a man in need. The next day I went down there in a hurry to try this bad boy out for myself. Now remember, I've sat on about every couch in Birmingham by this time so I know just what I'm looking for in terms of the perfect firmness/cushiness and the look I wanted the leather to have. She encouraged me to sit on it any way I wanted to and even stretch all of the way across it! She showed me a few more items in the store to make sure this one was what I wanted but i was sold on this beauty from Mississippi. They threw in delivery for free and I bought an extended warranty on top of the manufacturer warranty because I want this to last me the long haul and my family ain't too easy on the furniture. Do yourself a favor and check out Standard when you are shopping for furniture. Unless you like to pay way too for crappy furniture and get pushed around by know nothing sales people.
