I really enjoyed roaming the aisles of this massive store! I was mainly looking for some new bedding / textile. I found a 3 piece queen comforter set for $20 on clearance!! STEAL!! The clearance section was great to me because it was 30- 50% off. Each department had its own clearance section with a good variety. You could get a Christmas tree or a Halloween pumpkin this time of year. Huge seasonal variety!! The staff was friendly and extremely helpful at checkout. I will definitely visit again because I really like the inventory and the prices are reasonable. read more

This particular At Home is located in Trussville, Alabama, a city which has certainly grown in the last several years. At Home is a home decor type store that started back in 1979 in Schertz, Texas and at the time was called Garden Ridge Pottery. Later, it would simply be called Garden Ridge. In 2014, the now multi-store chain became At Home with the "o" in "home" to be shaped like a house. I am a fan of At Home. They have an eclectic and relatively cool selection of items and I am confident that you can find something that you never knew that you needed, but now you cannot live without. All in all, I had an overall positive experience at this particular At Home and I would definitely recommend a visit here. read more

At Home in general is a pretty good place to do your home décor shopping and really this particular location is no different. They have all sorts of stuff for indoor and outdoor decorating. Some of the things you can find are patio furniture, rugs (tons of them), frames, artwork, DIY fake flower stuff, furniture (chairs, side tables, coffee tables, dressers, etc), fake plants, dinner ware, drink ware, kitchen ware and all sorts of seasonal décor based on the time of year/holiday season that is approaching. Really my only downgrade for this location would be that I've been shopping at quite a few At Home locations and this one is probably the most disorganized. The inventory is cluttered and not reorganized very well. Other locations seem like they go back through and put in some effort to straighten things up a bit. That being said, in this case, three stars isn't a bad review. They have tons of stuff, they have very reasonable prices and really the only time we ever interact with employees is when we check out, but they are always friendly and helpful and take care to protect your items. So I've been in this store on multiple occasions and each time I've found some secret treasures. They have amazingly good deals on out of season decor. I got my giant Jack Skellington to wrap around my Nightmare Before Christmas Tree and some cute Halloween inspired ornaments. They've also got a great selection on all types of interior decor. I recently discovered this store when my wife drug me into it. We were looking for some new furniture, plus some furniture moving pads, and wanted to come in and take a look at what they had in store. They have a lot of smaller furniture, like chairs and love seats, as well as side tables and such, but no big sectionals or larger couches. They do have a large section of outdoor living as well, such as patio furniture and other outdoor 'must haves'. They have huge sections of seasonal decor in the store. They have wall hangings for all types of rooms. There is almost always something on sale as well. Overall, it's a good store. You can get lost trying to find what you need, and may need to hunt down someone to help though! read more

I wanted to check out the Trussville area and found that there was an At Home store. I'd never been to any At Home store before. Wow I was impressed with the selection of items. Definitely need to come here for my garden containers. Need décor pillows they've got shelves and shelves and more shelves of them. I like how a lot of stuff is organized by color. The biggest plus for me was they have scented candles without containers. I'm a minimalist and don't need more candle holders. The selection was limited but there were a lot of empty spaces in that area. Perhaps there's a candle season and I hit the end of it. I still managed to get a few. read more

I know, it's a home decor store so why should it get 4 stars? It's easy to maneuver around, huge selection of items and it always smells like Fall and Christmas!! Lol! I've always loved this store, even before it was At Home. The original name of the store was Garden Ridge and it used to be located in the OLD Irondale Wal-Mart. When it was Garden Ridge, the selection was cool, but management and organization of the store's was just so-so. Then it was renamed/rebranded At Home and it was much better. This At Home store moved from Irondale location to the Pinnacle shopping center in Trussville. Best move ever. It moved into what used to be the Belk Men's and Home Store. Moving into a larger spot gave them more space to spread out the items so you don't feel like you're about to knock something over or break something. There is a larger selection of items (HUGE rug section) and more variety. Their wall decor section is much larger than before, as well as their curtain section. Some items might be overpriced, like furniture. But you're paying for the convenience of not having to put any together! Lol! When you're looking for something specific, check out this place first. You'll always find something you weren't looking for, which means you end up spending more than you planned on spending. And that's how they get ya! Oh and don't forget my favorite section of candles and "smell- good what-nots". My only complaint is that there doesn't seem to be many staff members walking around. For a store that large it should be overrun with staff. I guess they see it as low-maintenance shopping so not much help is needed? But when we DO need someone, you never see anyone walking around. Placed and in-store pick up request for an end table for next day pick up. Came into the store 24 hours later to receive my order and never received a ready for pick up email. Come to find out my order was cancelled 20 minutes after I placed had it for "Item not found". Never received a cancellation email on my order. I proceeded to go back to where my end table could be and found it sitting on the shelf. It goes to show the saying, "if you cant get anything done, do it yourself". Let's be honest, I was irate when I entered the store but was determined to be my usual kind, gracious and happy self. We waited again for someone to wait on us. She was extremely professional but was a trainee. It seems they had the washer in stock and the computer didn't show one anywhere that could be trusted. So we waited while her trainer finished with her current customer. She proceeded to try and tell me the unit I have researched for weeks is a "special order"! After being in at least 9 different appliances departments (before the storms hit) not one person has said anything about it being a special order! After my rebuttal she backed off that "statement" and said each time she's sold one it was a special order purchase for her. I walked to the front of the store to try and call the Fultondale store again to try and prevent driving there in vain. read more
