Vapor is an excellent thrift store! My recent visit was successful. I found some really cute items for reasonable prices. The color of the day was blue, so those items were half off. If I could give zero stars, I most definitely would. When it comes to showing the love of God, the management department falls very short. I went through the interview process and was offered the job the very next day. However on what should of been my first day, after having been there for 4 hours, I was fired by the store manager for being gay. They knew I was gay when they offered me the job. read more

They are accepting donations if you're Marie Kondoing your place! Also take a walk around. It's near the old Sprouts and in front of Red Lobster on 31 in Vestavia. If you want to go to a thrift store that smells nice, has clean bathrooms, is super organized and still super affordable this is your place. They also have free coffee. The overall vibe is just really pleasant. I think the purpose of this place is to bring dignity to shoppers. I could tell they accept donations but not smelly or stained or destroyed stuff. I think it organized by a Christian church. The prices are just $1-$2 more than the Salvation Army. The selection is currently limited but it makes sifting through stuff easier. My only complaint is they use paint markers to price shoes. So if you get a pair here you'll have $5.99 written in large numbers on your soles. Better keep your feet down lol. read more

This rounds out my thrift store reviews for the day....again, still on the hunt for a vintage stereo receiver and decided to pop in here. First, parking is plentiful, drop offs for donations are found behind the building. I really like the store in general. Everything is well kept and organized. As with any thrift store there is an element of luck about finding what you are looking for. Today, they didn't have what I was after, but they do have a great large selection of clothing for all, media, electronics .... basically everything you would find at a typical thrift store. Plenty of space, so things aren't overly crowded. Surprised that they were at about capacity when I came in. Tons of people out shopping that day. If you are looking for a deal or just looking to kill some time, I'd recommend stopping in here to check them out. read more

I've dropped off clothing and other items several times here. Never had a bad experience until today. I was dropping items off, some very valuable like Lululemon pieces, and the man looked at my bags and said "what even is this stuff?" And proceeded to tell me how people drop off trash at the store. I was insulted. Everything I dropped off was kids up to adult clothing and a few children's toys. I just couldn't believe the tone and way he spoke to me, basically accusing me of dropping off trash. I had been in love with this store. Inflation has driven prices up even at thrift stores, which is shocking. If their merchandise is all donated, why not give the needy and other shoppers the reasonable prices the store had from its beginning. For instance, I have shopped for glassware, drinking and individual dessert bowls, and I can buy them cheaper at the store. Why buy used merchandise at higher prices than new products? I find this very disappointing and have found the same increased prices at other thrift stores. It appears, due to inflation, management has decided to raise its prices along with all other inflationary prices consumers are having to suffer. read more

Well organized, nice and spacious store. Lots of variety including furniture, clothing, shoes housewares, electronics, sports equipment and medical supplies. The clothes are divided by size for the most part and then general categories such as pjs, skirt, shirts, pants etc. There is cofee available im the store, I assumed it was free for customers. There are only 2 dressing rooms which wasn't a problem for me since I was the on quiet afternoon but I can potentially see a wait on busier days. Also the room I was in was badly lit unfortunately. Overall a great store and they help not just the local community but also help communities in Haiti to be self sustainable. read more

One of my favorites!! I forgot how spoiled I am to have them right in my backyard. Went out of town to a big city last weekend and was just reminded how great our Vapor store is. I always find something for my teen boys here--balls, soccer cleats, leg braces, small men's NIKE shirts. I have found lamp finials, lampshades, curtains with great material to turn into tablecloths, hand carved picture fames, how to sew, draw figures books. And of course the crazy clothes with tags still on like a orange cashmere sweater, White House black market jacket, Patagonia women's sweatshirt. Their fancy hats, scarves, belts are always fun to check out. Furniture is hit or miss...1890's sewing machine for $25, funky 70's solid oak desk for $40. Their staff is always friendly and helpful no matter what. read more
