They would have rather me leave completely unsatisfied with their service than to demonstrate their apologies for such a big inconvenience to a customer. They do a stellar job every time. Most recently, I had to bring a new Martin OM28 in for a repair because the high E string was too close to the edge of the fretboard (such that if I did a downward pull-off, the string would roll off the crowned edge of the frets, killing those notes). Toby immediately spotted that the nut slots were improperly spaced (which was kind of disappointing for a brand new Martin, but at least Martin covered the repair). The repair and setup was done PERFECTLY! I couldn't believe what a difference it made...to the point, I felt compelled to email Toby to thank him and to post this review (something I never do). Montreal guitarists need to know about this place. They are the authorized service center for all the big name brands (including Martin, Taylor, Fender and Gibson). Yes, they unfortunately have a two month waiting period at the present time, but that's only because they have a stellar rep. But not to worry, you don't have to be without your guitar during that period. Just contact them to make an appointment and reserve your spot. Then they'll contact you when it's time to bring your guitar in and it will be ready for pickup within a week for simple repairs or setups. All I can say is that it's well worth the wait! If you want your guitar to play and sound its best, do yourself a favor and take it to Montreal Guitar. Thanks Toby and gang! And in this day and age of everything made in China, finding a decent, well-trained tailor is getting more difficult all the time. So when I recently found a brand new, unused Aquascutum navy blue trench coat at my local Frip-prix, I knew who I had to look for. These coats usually go for $2000 retail at places like Holt Renfrew or Ogilvy's and while the coat was way too big for me, I just couldn't let such a rare find get away. I came to Natale Tailleur and the elderly Milanese gentleman here did his magic. He altered the coat to fit me without once compromising on the integrity of the quality of the coat. I have been a repeat customer for over a year now and have spent hundreds of dollars in prints…read more There are a few very nice staff members who you might be lucky enough to deal with which is why I had been a repeat customer, but Suzy, the old blonde woman, is extremely unprofessional. I was doing a reprint with files I had printed before (and spent weeks testing on their printers at personal cost) and she put 60 pages of them through without a test print and all of them printed with large white dots and a weird white residue on top of the entirety of the prints. When I flagged it as an issue, she was arguing with me and getting extremely loud in front of the customers. She told me they had a paper issue for the last two days and they were all like this. Eventually she reprinted test prints on a second printer, which didn't have the white residue issue but still had white dots, and it had printed 10% darker-- something she refused to fix. I think Suzy was embarrassed that she had neglected to do a test print, which every other run I and many people I know had done with them, but she was extremely aggressive and hostile. A number of people I know had issues with Suzy and some of the other staff and have given up on the shop. I will be looking to support another small business, one with a basic standard of quality and a minimal level of professionalism.
