I went to this place on Saturday. I was really impressed with the place. It was clean, no wait, good music... I had gel polish put on my natural nails. I was super happy at first, but as I left and got outside (it's a little dark inside) I started to notice little issues. Gel on my skin, uneven leveling, bubbles in the finish, etc. Well, it's now Wednesday and one hand has fully peeled off! I haven't been hard on my nails even! This place changes owners frequently. Loved it when Twee was the owner. No one in the place speaks good English, so it's difficult to communicate. Only a few members of the staff are really friendly. Prices seem high. I have gone here since 2006, and 3 different owners. Now I'm looking for a new place !!! There are just too many good nail salons in the area, so why bother with this place ?? I have pink fills with white tips, and the quality of work is nothing like the previous owners. Moving on !!! read more

I haven't had my nails done in 5 years. My sister and I wanted a girls day while we were in town visiting my folks and so she checked the YELP ratings for a salon. WOW!! This place was awesome. The girls talked to you and made you feel very comfortable. My sister had a great massage with her pedicure and a nice nail design for an average price. I had a full set put on with black tips. The gal tried a new gel overlay machine that didn't work the way she wanted and she corrected it immediately. This place is clean and pleasant. I will definitely be back when I am in town. read more

I came to the Athena Nail and Spa and was treated extremely poorly by the staff. I am an African-American woman and I was hurt and disgusted by the horrible, awful, crappy, and unsatisfactory service given to me. This has never happened to me before, but for the first time as a black woman I was rejected at a nail salon. There were three staff members that wouldn't help me. I sat in the pedicure tub until the water got cold (over 20 min) and I had enough and finally left. I hope no other African-American person comes to this nail spa and experiences what I have experienced; it was simply awful. For the first time, I experienced racism and it was painful. read more

YOU WILL ONLY BE DISAPPOINTED. ‼‼ I recently moved to the city of Temecula and had to leave my nail technician of 12 years and settle for someone else. Since I live down the street from Athena Nails I decided to try it out. The first time I went I got my nails done by NIKKI and they came out alright, being that I compared them to my original technician. The second time I came in.. this old lady who was talking shit about me the ENTIRE time while cutting my fingers throughout the process too.. I was telling her she was hurting me and home girl decided to talk more shit to her colleagues and eventually made one of them take her place because she was fed up with me (sorry, you still can't do a proper manicure even 200 years later). Nikki took over and of course, rushed the process so my nails were decently done. I came back without an appointment weeks later and a man did my nails, cut me a lot and was the slowest technician I ever had. AT THIS POINT I SHOULD HAVE NEVER CAME BACK BUT... I did. This time I got Cindy. She was cool at first till she couldn't do my nails on the day I had an appointment because "she already had plans" and was leaving an hours before closing, she told me to come the next day, I told her I'd call around 1pm when I was in town to make an appointment.. she said, "OK!!!" and apologized (Never even mentioned to schedule the appointment that night, when that could have been the solution). I called in when I said I would and GUESS WHAT... she was ALL BOOKED, and said she couldn't do my nails today after she knew when I was coming in and knew I already did her the favor the night before by telling her I'd come back the next day. Tomorrow is Valentines Day and I'm left without a manicure, even after the inconvenience of the day before. I'm not only writing this long ass story about my experience to complain about my experiences here but also because of the racial injustice they had every time I came in. As a minority, I felt like they did not treat me with the same level of care, or respect as they did for the white people in the shop. They would talk shit in their language (as if I was stupid and didn't fucken know, idiots) about me or the people I brought in but not once have I heard them doing that to the white people in there. I don't understand their behavior giving that I tipped them well even though my nails were a piece of shit most the time. I WILL NEVER BE BACK TO THIS SHITHOLE WHERE I DO NOT FEEL LIKE A VALUED CUSTOMER (and a regular) AND DISCRIMINATED BECAUSE OF MY YOUNG AGE AND ETHNICITY. I went to get my money back because I was angry and i asked to speak with a manager and all I got asked was "Why" and i asked for my refund they sat there infront of me for about 3 minutes not speaking English and completely ignoring me. So much so that i brought my entire wedding party here to get manicures and pedicures before the wedding. The thing I love the most about Athena nails is that they get to know their customers. When i call or come in they all know me and are always so friendly and personable. I also love how concerned they are about cleanliness. They always disinfect everything before it is used and never cross contaminate. they never try to up sale you either, which is great. Love this place!!!! I decided last minute to get my nails done and was referred to Nikki. I called and they were so accommodating and able to get me in with Nikki. They told me that she has a client at 10:30 and if she runs out of time somebody else can apply my gel! Totally understandable. Nikki was so sweet and was able to give me recommendations for colors.(I'm a hairstylist so my nails are always in water and covered in color). She was able to give me exactly what I wanted! Since I found Athena Nails & Spa I have been extremely pleased with each visit. I have acrylic nails with gel color and always get many compliments from others. Nikki and Phoenix are my go to girls and when I leave I always have a perfect set of nails. They are fast and particular at what they do and such fun to talk to. This is the best place for a mani/pedi in Temecula hands down. I don't do acrylics but I've seen the work they do & its amazing as well! They have the best selection of polish, gel & acrylic & the shop is super clean. All of the ladies at Athena nails are amazing & talented. First, the OPI collection was the latest and greatest - Second, the Salon was clean and sanitary..I actually watched the nail tech disinfect the FLOOR right after she finished with her client. The atmosphere was pleasant, I didn't feel rushed - the nail tech was meticulous and I didn't feel as though she rushed me off to get to her next client! Started coming here for pedicures because it's walking distance from my condo. The customer service is always wonderful and they smell clean and sterile! (Which is always a bonus!) The owner's wife does an amazing job on my brows as well. Wasn't a huge fan of the acrylic job that I had done for a wedding or the gel manicure...mostly because the job felt rushed.
