We did live an hour from Tyler for a few years before but wanted closer access to Tyler since we loved it so much. We chose Eagles Bluff as our forever home and are ecstatic to have found it! Also we have found so many transplants here from 'other' states as well who feel the way we do!! It's a lovely quiet neighborhood with friendly residents and staff, but also is an easy drive to Tyler for a good variety of shopping and eating at so many fabulous restaurants!! Plus there's an abundance of great doctors there as well. The golfers seem happy with that; I just enjoy watching them across the pond from our backyard. If you're looking for a nice place to live with interesting nice people & great amenities/activities you should arrange a visit and talk to anyone you meet here to ask whatever you'd like to know, I'm sure they'd be helpful!

This isn't your highfalutin country club... and the restaurant isn't 5 star chef. The service was…read morereally great (5 star for sure). We went by on a chilly day and sat outside because of my pooch. Some guys kept coming out for a smoke. I wonder what would happen on a nice day when the patio was full of people eating? The lobster risotto was NOT good... way overcooked and the tiny pieces of formerly frozen lobster were also overcooked. Also, why on earth do you pile the risotto in a square in the middle of the plate and leave the sauce to get cold around it? Not a good plan... for $13 you don't expect anything good, and that's what you get. My friend had the po boy... said it was ok. the buttermilk fries were really good he said and I enjoyed my bloody mary. They had a stuffed tator tot app for $5... was done pretty well for a concept. The cowboys were on and if they scored you got a free jello shot. I don't think I ever expected to see a jello shot at a country club...

"CCCC," as they are known, recently opened up their bar and restaurant, but only their bar and…read morerestaurant, to the public. So, we stopped in for lunch. The bartender couldn't find the waitress so she seated us and went to get some waters. She still couldn't find the waitress so she brought us some silverware. She still couldn't find the waitress so she brought us some menus. Then a party of six walked in, the waitress appeared, seated them, and took their order. Five or ten minutes later the bartender asked if we had been helped, and we told her no. The waitress had disappeared again, so the bartender took our order. We ordered the Philly cheesesteak sandwich with sweet potato fries, and a Club sandwich with regular fries. About 15 minutes later, and miraculously, before the party of six received their order, ours came out. The kitchen had managed to reverse the fries, putting the sweet potatoes with the Club sandwich and the regulars with the Philly cheesesteak. Then the waitress, who miraculously reappeared, put the au jus down next to the Club sandwich, and the on-the-side mayonnaise for the Club down next to the Philly cheesesteak. After we reshuffled the fries and condiments, we began eating, and, three cheers for the chef!! The sandwiches were good. To their credit, everyone was very friendly and apologetic while they were totally screwing up the communication between bartender, waitresses, and kitchen. If I had to guess, I suspect that the staff has grown fairly comfortable in dealing with the same club-member clientele for so long that they may be in for a rude awakening regarding serving the public at large. Plus, if CCCC is anything like a few other country clubs I have seen, at least some of the staff are daughters and sons of members, and are therefore held to a somewhat lower standard of job performance. No clue if that is the case at CCCC, I just mentioned it because I have seen it elsewhere. Since this was our first time there, we asked to see the dinner menu. It looks like a good selection of basic American cuisine, including possibly the only serving of Chilean Seabass to be found in the lake area. So, we will be back for dinner. If the staff can manage to get their "it" together, and the quality of the food is at least on par with our lunch, I will be back to this review to jack the rating up to four stars instead of three. Especially with the recent drought's effect on the local economy, it is great to have another somewhat more upscale eatery among the choices at Cedar Creek Lake, so we are really hoping that this opening-to-the-public thing will work out for CCCC.
