When I arrived, I didn't even sit in the waiting room, they took me straight back where the technician did some tests and gathered history. She was very sweet, personable and professional and worth her weight in gold to this practice. The doctor came in and I was immediately at ease. She ran some more tests and went over everything with me. I can easily say that she is one of the best eye doctors you will ever find in your lifetime. I highly, highly recommend this practice. I am so relieved that I've found an eye doctor that I can 100% put my eye issues in her hands and be at ease. The office is laid out and decorated very nicely, it's just a very relaxing feeling. 10/10 Recommend!

When I first picked out my glasses the lady said progressive is the way to go, etc. I gave them several weeks. My eyes couldn't adjust. I couldn't see. I went back and was like these aren't working for me. I don't even feel like the prescription is correct. Maybe I need a pair for driving and a pair for reading after all. Well, idk where the misunderstandings still is but I didn't even have a prescription for driving. I was like well why did I purchase the expensive progressive if I didn't even need glasses all the time, other than for reading. Zero prescription. The lady sold me the glasses was not there, the two times I went back....The other nice lady was like. It was the other lady that sold you the glasses. But to me they should have refunded my money on the special progressive, My intention on going back was to get two glasses one for driving and one for reading. But apparently that wasn't the case. So I got screwed with $800 pair of readers. I Won't trust them again. & to top it off My vision is still blurry. So frustrating!!

I had lens made for my frames through the Walmart Vision Center. The girls working in there were…read moregreat. This has nothing to do with them. This has to do with the service they use when they send out the lens prescription. Whom ever they use to do that service, and then add all the coatings you pay for, they did a horrible job. Only thing I have used to clean the glasses has been the cleaning kit provided when I picked the glasses up in April or May of this year. All the coating is coming off, so when looking through the lenses, it feels like I just woke up and couldn't figure it out. Until one of my buddies tried to clean them and he noticed the coating coming off. Had to buy new glasses in New Zealand, so I could see close up work. They must of not followed the coating instructions and it just didn't stick. Get the insurance, I figured i had a one year warranty, not the case. The person at the vision center said there was no warranty or that it had already expired, can't recall. Just ordered a new set of lens from a reputable place I used to get them done from my childhood. $263 later, I should get a pair of lenses that will last a long time. Not just 4 months. From the moment I got them, I noticed they would smudge very easily and hard to get them clean. These new ones I ordered will have all the same coatings, so I should see a vast improvement. Just because they're cheaper, doesn't mean you'll get the best quality with Walmart Vision.

This is a Review on the Glasses side NOT the Doctor. Never…read moreAgain. Long story short I have gotten glasses there before no issue with any of them besides the fact that when I was shopping for glasses this time wanting to see what kind of glasses I had gotten I could not find that out because my glasses did not have an imprint on them ( very surprised since this is an optical place, a drug store pair of glasses give you details about them?) This time around found a couple of frames I liked, after asking some questions and pretty much got annoyance instead of answers yes I should have just walked out but I just wanted to wrap buying glasses up and be on my way. Well picked up my glasses this week and not one thing is right, the frames are not what I choose different colors and shape and they don't even work they seem like I have someone else glasses but at this point it makes no difference since it would be my word against theirs and I would end being made the fool again on a side note when you spend a good amount of money on glasses you would think you would at least get a matching case also not the case got other brands cases. Learned my lesson the hard way very disappointed and mad at myself for not walking out after not being helped but made uncomfortable. NO I would NOT recommend getting glasses there.

I don't know if the ownership has changed, I know that the name has changed to Limestone Optical…read more Dr. Griggs is still the same optometrist that was there 15 years ago. He is very thorough and knowledgeable if you are going for an actual eye exam. The glasses side seems a little less pulled together. Their ancient hand calculations for cost of glasses created a surprise additional $100 cost at the time of pickup. If it had been me and not my brother I would have let them keep them. We were advised that they do the lenses on-site so same day glasses were available. However since his prescription was pretty severe they indicated that they couldn't do them in-house. Again, if it had been for myself I probably would have go to an on-line site but his medical needs are such that on stop shopping was in his best interest. Nice selection of current frames. So in summary, get an eye exam, absolutely. Get you glasses here - I wouldn't say no but I'd shop around.

I received a good eye exam, but noticed the office there in Madison was shabby. The countertop where customers register was rocking back and forth, an obvious lack of maintenance and pride. I order two boxes of contact lenses and a pair of glasses. They hand scribbled a piece of paper and tallied it, no receipt, no details. My total came to $678, and I paid immediately. The doctor was not busy at all and now I know why. About three weeks later I checked on the order. My glasses were in but contacts no, but the gave me two free samples to hold me as I was heading on a trip. I've worn these lenses for over a decade. Never had any trouble getting them in a couple of weeks in several other states. Another couple of weeks pass. I called again. The Athens office answered and said the Madison staff was out the whole week. No offer to help, just wait another week for her to return. Called the next week, for days. Toward the end of the week, finally get an answer (no voicemail, no rollover to Athens). The assistant made excuses about probably was only one in office and couldn't answer those times I called. Ugh. Would check on the lenses and call back. Didn't. I called back the next week. Backordered, but one box would be in soon. Ask how it was backordered. No idea. Picked up the box when it came in. Asked for a proper receipt when I returned to get the last box. Called a week later, but no lenses, but would check again. They were finally in August 29. I walked in at 4:05. The lights were out in the office. It looked like visiting some old person who is saving money. The receptionist recognized me and handed me the box after asking my name. I asked for the receipt I had been promised. At that point, she looked in the tray and saw the note to provide the receipt. She said she would have to write one out because her printer was down. I explained that it was the least professional office I have ever dealt with, and that I wouldn't be returning. She responded that she had tried to be nice but that I was being ugly. I explained that at every turn, their service had been bad and unprofessional. As I waited while she wrote, I looked at the office behind the registration desk. The trim on the doors and baseboards was filthy, where hands had touched white paint and left dirt and grime. The baseboards, doors and trim were all beaten up and years since being cleaned up or painted. It looked like some slum clinic. A drawer in the desk at the counter was broken off the runners and hanging out, unusable. When she handed me the receipt, she had to tell me that I wouldn't be missed, then that I should not come back and that I had ruined her day. She was making excuses for doing the best she could and I told her she should report to those who are responsible because they had made excuses all along. She ordered me out and implied that I was refusing to leave when I wasn't doing anything more than explaining why their service was so shoddy. She was furious and "didn't want hear any more." I left. Got home. Looked up my lenses online. Can order them for $100 for two boxes, not $130, and they could be delivered in 2 weeks. The truth doesn't hurt unless it ought to. Shame. Shame.
