This is an amazing property near all the best hiking and tourist spots in the area. The decor is typical lodge but everything is spotless and like new. There are 2 large bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths and a large living/dining area with a fully stocked kitchen. There is a hot tub on the deck which was great for relaxing in the evenings. Also a fire pit and gas grill although you need to choose add on propane tank rental if you want to use the grill. Firewood is also an optional add on. The lodge is surrounded by woods with excellent bird watching. It is also dark enough in the evening for some star gazing. We highly recommend this spot for a family getaway (sleeps 4) - or check out the other great lodging options hosted by the Inn.

A Beautiful Setting, but a Disappointing Experience I first…read morediscovered the Geodomes at Inn & Spa Cedar Springs while searching online for unique places to stay in Hocking Hills, Ohio. The domes were a little more expensive than what we would normally spend for a couple of nights, but we decided to treat ourselves to a special experience. Unfortunately, our stay got off to a very difficult start. After arriving, we checked in, booked our two complimentary breakfasts, unloaded our vehicle, and settled into the dome. The accommodations themselves are nicely designed. The dome is a good size, with a small kitchen area and a bathroom with a private toilet and shower. There is no sink in the kitchen area, but overall, the space is comfortable and the large windows provide a beautiful view of the surrounding forest. The problem occurred almost immediately after we arrived. My wife went into the bathroom, and when she attempted to leave, the door would not open. The latch was catching on the frame and would not release. I am a window and door contractor with 25 years of experience, so I spent approximately 20 minutes trying to get the door open. Unfortunately, because I did not have tools with me and the door was installed so tightly, I was unable to release it. I went to the front desk for assistance and was told that the maintenance person had already left but that they would try to get him back. Approximately 15 minutes later, he returned, and we went to the dome together. He initially tried to slide a credit card between the door and frame for several minutes. I suggested removing the handle set and asked for a Phillips screwdriver. Unfortunately, the tool kit he had brought contained a socket set rather than a screwdriver. He had to return to his truck and came back with a small jeweler's screwdriver set, which was not suitable for the job. He then left again to find another screwdriver. While he was gone, I continued trying to release the latch using the foil cutter from a wine corkscrew. When he returned several minutes later, I was finally able to release the latch by applying upward pressure to the door while manipulating the latch with the foil cutter. My wife was trapped inside the bathroom for just over an hour. Once we got the door open, I suggested removing the handle set so the problem would not happen again during our stay. The maintenance person agreed, and the handle was removed. I want to be clear that I appreciated the effort made by the individual who came to help us. We later learned that he was actually the lawn care facilitator rather than a dedicated maintenance employee. He did what he could with the tools available to him. However, the fact that a guest was trapped inside a bathroom for more than an hour due to a defective door is a serious safety concern. I contacted management the following morning and was told that the guest relations manager would call me. I eventually received the call at approximately 4:30 p.m. We discussed what happened, but the manager appeared to believe that the entire incident had lasted only about 15 minutes. I corrected several details regarding the timeline and explained exactly what had occurred. Unfortunately, at the conclusion of the conversation, management offered no accommodation, discount, or other gesture acknowledging the inconvenience and potential safety issue. Even a simple offer of a couple of drinks at the bar would have gone a long way toward demonstrating that they valued our experience. Instead, the response left us feeling that the financial aspect of the stay was more important than customer satisfaction. There were a few other things worth mentioning. The water system in the dome uses naturally hard, untreated water, and the water has a noticeable sulfur smell when running. The odor can permeate the dome, so bringing an air freshener may be helpful. The on-site restaurant, however, was a positive part of our experience. The food was very good, and the service was excellent. The grounds are also well maintained. One additional concern is that the path lighting leading to the domes was not functioning during our stay. At night, this meant walking to and from the domes in essentially complete darkness, which is another issue that should be addressed from a safety standpoint. Overall, the Geodomes themselves are attractive, comfortable, and located in a beautiful setting. Unfortunately, our experience was overshadowed by the initial incident and, more importantly, by how management handled it afterward. Things can go wrong at any property. What matters is how management responds when they do. In our case, we were hoping for some acknowledgment that what happened was unacceptable and a small gesture to show that our safety and satisfaction mattered. That did not happen. When I came back, I politely raised a concern about my haircut, specifically that he did leave a noticeable bald spot that I do not have. Instead of handling the situation professionally, the barber immediately became defensive, argumentative, and dismissive. Rather than listening or trying to understand the issue, he flat-out denied any problem and insisted that my hair was "thinning," which was both inaccurate and unnecessary. (All I did up to this point was mention what he did) I explained that I am very familiar with my own hair and would know if my hair was thinning, I want to also mention that I'm 21, but the conversation continued to be met with resistance and attitude instead of any willingness to resolve the concern. He then insults me saying "your hair is thinning everywhere". At no point did I raise my voice or act disrespectfully--I simply expected a reasonable, professional response. The interaction ended with me being waved off without any attempt to acknowledge the issue or offer any form of resolution. I'm not sure if it was because I'm Hispanic or if he's just a very upset human being. Other than that, the haircut still sucked, the lines weren't straight, you can still see the lines in my hair that he didn't fade out correctly, he also cut too much off the top.

I had been a long term customer of Honeysuckle Salon and this last six months have just been…read morehorrific. I had a few appointments I forgot and there was a very real reason for it. I'm sorry I forgot the appointments and I apologized when I remembered that I had missed them. Today we had a level 2 snow emergency and I called 15 minutes after appointment to apologize and reschedule. Had Kate taken the time to ask me why all of a sudden I missed appointments when I had not missed an appointment ever and typically would call if I was running late even -- she would have found out why. She would have found out that my mom was battling a life threatening illness and then my entire family had Covid and were struggling to get through it. Covid fog was the reason I missed the second appointment and if you haven't had Covid be glad as it's very real. She also would have found out I was willing to pay for the missed appointment charge for the inconvenience. However she didn't ask and she didn't care obviously. Having been a customer for 5 + years and not giving me any consideration at all as a long term customer but to say she wouldn't reschedule -- I will gladly take my business elsewhere where customers are valued -- and I will give my recommendations for a good salon in the area to my new stylist -- I have easily recommended 50 plus customers to Honeysuckle over the years believing their customers mattered. I believed wrong. Lesson for business owners: value customers and consider what might cause someone who has never missed appointments to suddenly miss multiple ones -- especially when we are in a pandemic. If not don't wonder when customers go elsewhere.
