I'm usually in and out, but the parking is super easy, vendors are fun and friendly. The market has a nice backdrop of the uptown buildings and the nearby Marshall Park (just behind First Baptist)... makes for a nice - easy Saturday morning to ease your way into the day. One day I will fufil my dream of walking to my nearby Lynx/Lightrail station taking it uptown to the market, enjoying the market, and then making my way home (so no parking needed - even though it's not an issue here if you go early enough).

I come here for one vendor specifically: Crumbled Nut Bake Shop. I love her cookies! The Pumpkin Cinnamon Roll cookie is my favorite. Blueberry Muffin and White Chocolate Macadamia Nut cookies are also really good. I hope she brings back her Lemon cookie so I can try it. Wentworth & Fenn is also here sometimes, but we got there too late this past time and they were already gone. They have amazing bread, so check them out too if you can. As with most farmer's markets you will find it open on Saturday mornings. This one is actually open even through winter for some of those winter greens, indoor gardeners and handmade foods and goods. That's certainly a plus. On the flipside, this is so depressingly small I feel hesitant to even call it a market. Even in the warmer months when the Earth is most productive it's a market you can seriously walk through in a few minutes if nothing catches your eye or you're not searching for something you know they'll have. If you like to completely stock up at markets this wouldn't be the place to do it. It's also not particularly cheap unless you're buying the bulk-sized fresh produce. My personal favorite small company here is called "wish we had acres". They make some absolutely amazing smelling natural deodorants withOUT aluminum in them in case that's something you're sensitive to. The Dumpling Lady also shows up from time to time with some hella good Chinese inspired dumplings for steaming or frying. PS: They're outside on the grassy corner lot in the warm months and inside the Neighborhood Theater on the cold ones.

This is a very local small neighborhood market where you can still expect to find everything you need. The NoDa neighborhood already puts out an extremely relaxed and artistic vibe that will be further represented by the fine folks that set up here on Saturday mornings. Fine cheeses, local honey, fruit, and vegetables are all here.. Plus lots more!! There are even really cool t shirts you can buy to help represent the neighborhood and the farmers market. The prices are pretty typical I would say. We are talking about extremely local products here. Honey that is made less than a mile away or produce from a farm just outside the city. You'd expect to pay a little bit more than what you would at Harris Teeter because you get the added benefit of knowing that these products were made locally and with care. If all else fails.. Stop by take a look around. Meet some nice folks and have a good rest of the day in the neighborhood.

She read good things and the hours were perfect for us to stop in on a beautiful Saturday morning in August. They are open every Saturday morning, April through December from 8am-12pm. We arrived about 10am and it was very busy. The main parking lot was full and there was a small line of cars trying to find parking spots. We continued on to the overflow parking area closer to the river bank and there was plenty of parking available. We walked up to the location of the market which is a covered area providing shelter from inclement weather and the hot summer sun. The variety of the different booths is diverse. Everything from fresh vegetables, canned salsas, jams and jellies, baked goods, pottery, frozen meat, and fresh flower bouquets. We enjoyed seeing all the various items and ultimately bought a package of six S'mores cookies which were incredibly delicious! It's been quite some time since we've been to a farmers market and this is a great one. Highly recommend if you are in the area.

I was *swooning* over the heirloom tomato table because you've just never seen such variety of juicy plump tomatoes! We grabbed some fresh corn on the cobb and lots of tomatoes this trip for only $12! They had just about everything you could think of from mushrooms to berries, carrots, etc. If you're in the area, you gotta go here for fresh produce. It's way better and more flavorful than the grocery store stuff. I believe they are only open on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
