Called a month in advance. We have been to both locations. We do prefer the one at the end of the beach. The one near downtown in the historic district is much older, it's very close to Carnival cruise ship. I's a 10 minute drive by cab $10 plus tip. The further one at the end of La Playa (the beach) is a fantastic 20 minute site seeing drive and seeing the cliff divers. Both locations gave us a 90 minute lite Swedish massage for $60 e. plus an optional $10 tip. Well worth the gringo dinero's. We cruise here around five times a year and make a must for messages. read more

this is a lovely place in old town mazatan, very close to a pretty park. we were a bit nervous about it but the booking process was very easy by email. the building is old but pretty and very clean. a basic massage is about $40 usd. we upgraded to hot stones for about $10 more. a fraction of of the cost on the cruise ship we were on. we ddidnt take one of the excursions on the ship but got in a taxi, they're waiting right at the port. we told the driver we just wanted to go the cliff divers but for $100 USD, he took us around for 3 hours and showed us all the top sights and let us walk around wherever we wanted. we ended at the Athena, then took a tuck tuck back to the port. a perfect day and way better than a crowded excursion given by the cruiseline. read more

Worst manicure of my life. I showed a picture of the exact style/length I wanted for my nails and the lady just chopped my long nails off to stubs. I was in tears to the manager and she apologized and said she knew it was wrong. Nothing done to fix the experience. Save your time do NOT get a manicure here. read more

My husband and I requested a 90min couples Swedish Massage at Athina Spa Centro via email a few weeks prior to our cruise. We figured it was more affordable than what they offer on-board the ship, plus it gave us an opportunity to explore Mazatlan a bit. We chose the Centro location due to its proximity to the cruise terminal and the beach. The communication from Athina Spa was prompt and they were able to confirm our reservation days leading up to the cruise, which put my mind at ease. We arrived via Uber from the cruise terminal well before opening, so we walked a few blocks to the beach for breakfast. Upon return, we had to wait outside which wasn't a problem. The weather and location are beautiful. The check-in process was easy, and you can note the areas you want them to focus on or avoid, and they honored that, which we appreciated. The ambiance inside the massage room was quaint and relaxing with music and dimmed lights. The massuese's spoke gently and guided us through (in English). The massage did not disappoint! Sadly, I cannot recall the names of our masseuse's, but both exceeded our expectations. Overall, this was a lovely experience and we're glad we booked it! Came to Athina Spa in Centro district today. Nice clean place. Made online appt which was seamless and communication was great! My husband and I chose combo massage and salt scrub. The salt scrub stated in their menu book was marked 650 but we were charged 899! The lady said they forgot to change it in their book. There was no adjustment made even though it was stated in their onsite book. If we were in the States, there would be due to oversight. So, minus points for poor customer service. It made me question their honesty. Massage was good. A plus for the masseuse which we tipped handsomely. Just be aware and double check the prices. read more

Went for a pedicure and my nails looked worse after, cut uneven and jagged and didn't clean under the nails to get sand from the beach out.

We ordered a relaxing massage and that it was since it was not very powerful. The lady did ask if the pressure was ok and at the time it was but then the pressure got lighter. You can hear the transactions and the phone of the front office so that made me take a star off. All in all it was ok but I think I will try a new place next time. read more

Great massage all I can say!!!but the only thing that got this place a 1 star was the unsatisfying work of a facial my wife received. She got a 1 hour massage which she loved and the worst facial treatment she had ever got in all her facial treatments (which have been from LA to Paris, France down to Cancun)however the worst part was that the owner was there and did not do a thing about it when my wife was talking about the facial she received to the front desk receptionist. HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!This was one of the worst experience I've had at a spa, I paid for a massage and a facial $120 my massage was wonderful however my facial was terrible all they did was rub with a brush honey with chocolate, exfoliating scrub, and lotion with hot towels that is something I could've done myself at home I was expecting a real facial facial with a shoulder massage and massage face massage extraction, the minimum. I get a monthly facial in Los Angeles where i come from, and I have traveled around the world and I have also gotten a facial every stop I make and I never have experienced this joke before. The girl Who did it was sweet and kind, I don't understand why they have them do this kind of work so call facial the services are a scam for the price I would've paid maybe $20 for that and not even I could have done that myself at home.
