I've been watching this new facility being built for over a year. Finally open and my husband and I bought memberships right away. $25/month for residents (does not include classes but access to workout equipment, track, basketball courts and turf field when not being used). $15/month extra for classes, or buy a 10 pack. Decent amount of cardio and weight lifting equipment. So far I have not had to wait for any machine. Of course since gym just opened everything is in great shape, but I have seen cleaners wiping down machines so it's being taken care of. Nice locker rooms and bathrooms. The best part about this facility is the track and work out area on 2nd floor. It can get busy on weekends with soccer and basketball tournaments, but it was quite empty on 2nd floor so you can work out in peace! Plus with the track, there is no rush for a treadmill since it seems more people prefer the track. They even have conference/ community rooms for use. Overall great facility with plenty of parking. Happy to put my money towards my town's rec center rather than a franchise gym. Everyone is friendly and I can see us working out here for a long time!

The ARC has not officially opened, but today was the open house. The place is much bigger than it appears. I loved the indoor track, basketball court, and the gym area had individual T.V's on most of the machines. The weight area is nice as far as the equipment, but it seems small compared to the amount of cardio equipment. They have ROWING machines!!!!! The nice ones lol! There is plenty of parking, which was full today so I guess a lot of people will sign up. I also noticed an outdoor playground,a kitchen area, and meeting/classrooms that may be available to rent. The staff members were all nice and friendly. They have a few vending machines with healthy options and I noticed at least 4 hand sanitizer machines-Awesome. This place is lovely, shiny, and new. If it's not too crowded during the times I need to be there then I'll join.. Even if only to use the indoor track because I need my 10,000 steps per day...and yes, there are different membership options. Full access, indoor track only,or only group classes. The rates seem very reasonable if you are a resident.

Overall, a facility I want to like but the memberships fees are bit too high in spite of being a resident.

It feels that the members are paying for more maintenance vs increased services or equipment... I've spoken to regional leaders and even Tim, and yet have they been able to articulate the WHY behind the increase that increases the experience of the member. It's always maintenance related... I invited a friend to this Life Time Fitness location expecting a high-end experience, but…read moreunfortunately it turned into a very disappointing situation. His belongings were stolen from the men's locker room, and we immediately filed a police report. After over a month of no communication, management finally reached out saying they "might" have a suspect. About a week later, we were told the bag had suddenly reappeared in the locker room after a nightly check--which raises serious concerns. When we retrieved the items, cash ($300) and a YSL cologne were missing. There are too many inconsistencies, and the situation feels poorly handled and unprofessional. What's more concerning is the lack of accountability--calls to the GM have gone unanswered, and no effort has been made to offer compensation or reassurance. For a facility that markets itself as luxury, this experience fell far below expectations. I've also since heard of similar incidents happening in the men's locker room, which is alarming.

I just joined here a few weeks ago, and although I haven't tried everything that the club has to…read moreoffer what I can tell you is that it has everything I need... and more. I joined this club because I have been a high-end fitness club member for many years. When I moved here from California, I tried the LifeTime in Burr Ridge and quickly quit because the place was so filthy and crowded all the time. Forced to take some time off due to a medical issue, I began examining my gym options once again in the area. Score Sports down the street from my house wouldn't even answer membership inquiries (I filled out two), I didn't like what the Country Clubs in the area had to offer, and Five Seasons didn't seem like my vibe. I walked into Midtown and immediately saw that it was a great place for me to get my workouts done in an environment I'm accustomed to. The other bonus is that I don't have to pay extra fees for childcare, which added up big time at other gyms between my four children. Do I wish they had a well developed hot power vinyasa program geared toward master yogis? Yes. But what I'm really here for is the weight room, the fact that I have a spot I can do CrossFit WODs on my own, or I can join a variety of classes from spin to Pilates if it works with my schedule. This gym is a lot smaller than the gym I was a member at in California for many years, but I like the fact that it's a bit more quaint and exclusive. People are really just here to workout, just like I am. I like that. I'm not at the gym to be social, I'm there to achieve my fitness goals. As an aside, their Kidtown allows food from the Cafe to be ordered and delivered to your children. This means I can come around lunch time when the kids are out of school, feed them lunch, AND I GET TO WORKOUT! The only caveat is that because my 8-month old isn't walking yet, the kids can only stay for 90 minutes. But when the little one is walking I'll have 2 1/2 hours of freedom -- and that to me is priceless.

PROS: The staff! Really their best asset is their friendly…read morestaff members who get to know you. This includes wonderful trainers who can take you from zero to hero as far as someone who NEVER works out, to someone who can develop a fitness routine. Programs: Lots of great programs like Tennis-In-No-Time, swim lessons for kids, and as I said before, great trainers you can book to achieve your personal goals. Tons of equipment to choose from in a bright, open space. Some regulars you can get to know and learn techniques from. CONS: Pool area feels too "open". Don't need peep windows all around the pool. I felt weird swimming in there so I never did. Close it off. Management change up/corporate vibe. Don't let you even hold your account for a month now (even though they used to). It's a pricey, luxury gym with clients that pay more to get more so making people jump through tons of hoops to hold a month for travel, work, etc doesn't gel with that vibe. If you give a months notice this should allow plenty of time to adjust staffing. You have to pay extra for a lot of stuff, so in order to use a lot of what really makes a gym like this worth the extra $ in the first place, you have pay EVEN MORE. Otherwise you are mostly utilizing equipment, classes, and such that you can get at other gyms for way less.
