This practice needs to be investigated. This physician left me BOTCHED for life. I recently had a facelift called by Dr Athre TRIFECTA facelift. It was completed on 1/6/21. I followed this physicians instructions and to this day, I now have a hideous facial botched scar across my forehead running down the both sides of my face. Recently, he performed a Micro dermabrasion session on me and told me that the scar would be diminished. Well after 1000 RPMs per minute the scar across my forehead has increased in depth and in redness. I sent several emails regarding this outcome and I was totally ignored by both his patient coordinator Barbara & by him. I ended up making an appointment with another receptionist whom he seems to constantly have new staff members on his team which should've been a red flag in the beginning. After discussing with my husband and the long nights of crying, it was advised by my husband and by another cosmetic surgeon who is reputably known in Houston Texas not to visit his practice anymore. I now am having to spend X amount of dollars to travel to California to get this fixed by a cosmetic physician who fixes botched surgery. Yes we all know him & I pray HE will say YES to me and not "IT CANT BE FIXED." I will give you guys an update on the answer. I am speaking out because first I am in the public eye & I hope that my message gets out for the future of those who plan on getting a facelift, rhinoplasty or any kind of facial procedure done by this man even if it is only aesthetics. His staff is constantly changing so if you expect to deal with the same person think again. This practice needs to be investigated & his credentials need to be investigated. He literally scarred me for life and ruined my face. I cry everyday now. Damaged by the way I look that cannot be undone. I went in with only asking for a facelift and I came out looking like Frankenstein who's face was destroyed and the surgery was more of a face off. I can only imagine how many other patients have not spoken up but I am going to be the first. You may get lucky and nothing may happen but you may be that one statistic that ends up like me - BOTCHED! Do your research! Its your body. Its still red to this day and even with make up or concealer it does not go away - not even the depth of the scar which increased after he microdermabrasion my face grinding on the scar. Once again I plead with anyone who reads this message please go to another practice do your research make sure the credentials are valid and make sure that the Doctor Who performs a Facelift is reputably known. No amount of money to save a buck is worth ruining your face for the rest of your life. I have only been to his Galleria location. But Barbra the intake coordinator has been absolutely amazing! I was nervous about getting a rhinoplasty along with sinus surgery. She called and talked with me. She didn't try to sell me. She was very personal with me and I felt that. They had me come back in the office. She has been so amazing we went over things I ended up adding to get more things done. Not due to them selling me just do to me feeling better about the process. They've been so honest even told me when some things don't need to be done. That's a breathe of fresh air in the world we're in these days. I can't wait. Everyone is upset nice. I now have a pointy lopsided nose with have an inverted v deformity more pronounced on one side. He completely ruined my original nice rounded tip. One of my friends even asked me if my nose was broken! This doctor is arrogant and incompetent and incapable of admitting his mistakes. It was my fault for going with the first doctor I met. It was my first time to Athre Facial office. The office is very nice and clean. The staff are very professional and very helpful. Dr Atrhre, made me very comfortable during the filler procedures. Dr Athre at first seemed great, he was very confident made me feel very comfortable with him. After my nose job I noticed my nose was crooked I talked to him about and he legit yelled at me telling him nothing was wrong and that no amount of money would make him fix it. Which I saved up to get this nose job because I never liked it for it to come out messed up. I got it checked out with another surgeon and he agreed, he even stated that one side of my nose collapsed due to too much cartilage shaved down, he even pointed out how he left my nose tip dropped and not too mention my uneven nostrils. I recently purchased a skincare regimen from Athre Facial Plastics and I must say it was definitely worth it. My skin is already sensitive and I can barely put soap on my face without it breaking out but Dr. Athre's skincare line is AMAZING! I would recommend it to anybody. The office itself is easy to find in the Galleria area, Westheimer and Sage. There's parking all around the building and it's free. I was so fortunate to discover Dr. Athré. He is the best of the best. I had my eyelids, nose, chin, face lift and neck lift done at the same time. He is a talented and precise surgeon. People told me one week after my surgery that they knew people who didn't look as good after 6 weeks. I went back to work after 10 days, but I could have gone back sooner. The results were amazing. I had a rhinoplasty done with Dr. Athre this month, and I can not tell you how stoked and happy I am with the results just after five days! I am 24 years old from Houston, so to find him was the best thing that ever happened to me. I had been contemplating this nose job for ten years, so I had done my research. I decided to give Dr. Athre's staff a shot and they totally had me on the first appointment. They are to the point and just throw it all at you, it is overwhelming BUT they encourage you to ask as many questions as you want. The staff including Dr. Athre are very patient. My procedure was done rapidly but by choice, I knew what I wanted. Sandy is great as well, must say! She guides you along with the doctor, they are very patient but you can quickly see they are very busy people which is great! My wife had her lips done with this Dr. I purchased one syringe and when he finished their was still some filler left in the syringe but he said that she didn't need any more. 1 week later My wife noticed that her upper lip was uneven so we went back and he told her to give it another week she waited and and her upper lip was still uneven I scheduled her 3th appointment and he said "Yes it is uneven, you have 3 options 1- wait until it wears off 2- remove it or 3- buy a smaller syringe" I was very upset and I told his assistant why should I pay for another syringe if he wants to inject exactly what my wife still had left in her first syringe? She told me she was going to call me back it's been a few weeks and nobody has called me back. read more

Dr. Athre's rhinoplasty practice is concerning. Firstly, the statistics AFP posts on rhinoplasty revision rate (or success rate) are likely to have been doctored. This was one piece of data that I used to make my decision to choose Dr. Athre and now regret. Secondly, similar to the pictures posted on Yelp/Real Self, I also got the deformed nostrils with cartilage sticking out of my nose. Thirdly, Real Self, the surgery forum, doesn't allow you access to your account and update reviews 1-2 years post-op. Dr. Athre makes sure to get your testimonial right after operating, while he can still dismiss your concerns and say "swelling will go down". It has been 3 years and I still have a big black suture tightroped across the inside of my nostrils, which Dr. Athre promised would dissolve naturally. read more

I give this two stars instead of one, simply because the office coordinator or whoever I dealt with in the office was nice. BUT. With that said... to be quite honest, Dr. Athre came off as arrogant, rude and dismissive to me as a potential client. The whole experience left me feeling worse off than when I walked in. I came in for minor botox, but he proceeded to go into depth about what was wrong with my face, and what other procedures I need done. For reference, I am 30 years old and have not considered any type of surgery at this point. But he went on about how bad my forehead and eyelids were... I'm like dang here I thought I was looking alright for my old age. (ha) Guess not! lol. He finally eventually gave me botox in my upper cheeks, which I am almost positive was not near 20 units. I had originally wanted the botox on my forehead, but he suggested it would be better to use in my cheeks. I was okay with that. After that, he left me with the office coordinator to try and sell me his expensive facial care line. I guess my measly $150 was not worth his time. I left there in shock. Anyway! that was almost 3 weeks ago, and have noticed no difference from the botox. Complete waste of my time and money. And apparently a complete waste for him too! read more

I was a very difficult case (as a result of several broken noses) so extremely nervous about choosing a surgeon. He's very energetic and extroverted but the man is a genius. I recently went to Dr. Athre for a rhinopasty consultation. Dr. Athre appeared to be educated and informative on the subject and got me excited for possibly scheduling the surgery even though he was the first doctor I had seen. However, once it was time to speak with his business/scheduling manager, Sandy, I felt pushed and pressured into putting a deposit down on the surgery that day. When she finally realized I needed a couple days to think about whether he was the right fit... she then begins trying to sell me Dr. Athre's skin care treatment. After a week or two I actually decided to go ahead with Dr. Athre and schedule the surgery putting my down payment down. I quickly realized this was an irrational decision and went to see another doctor and decided to go with the new doctor. I quickly called Dr. Athre's office to cancel my appointment and get a refund on my deposit which was far less painful than I expected. Bottom line... Dr. Athre is probably a good doctor... however, Sandy comes off desperate and made me feel pushed into scheduling the surgery ASAP and was FAR from making me feel comfortable having Dr. Athre work on my face. I had a rhinoplasty with Dr. Athre in 08/15. When I first met him, he was personable and informative. His patient coordinator, Sandy, was a little pushy but I brushed it off and scheduled my surgery with him anyway. The surgery was a breeze but when the cast came off, I literally passed out (and almost threw up on myself). I liked my new profile, but the tip of my nose looked SO unnatural, but I knew I had to be patient to see results. I am now 8 months post-op and have a severe inverted-v deformity (Google it). I've had FOURTEEN plastic surgeons confirm that I do indeed have an inverted-v deformity, but when I confronted Dr. Athre with this information, he flat out scoffed at me and denied that anything was wrong with my recovery. I have finally accepted that I have to get a revision but I'm still bitter at the fact that Dr. Athre won't man up and admit to his careless mistakes. Lesson learned, I guess. If anyone is reading this and considering a rhinoplasty procedure (or any procedure for that matter) with this doctor, I URGE you to RUN as fast and far away as you can from this guy. He will take all your money and leave you wallowing in a pool of regret. read more
