Review for Occu-Health (East Longmeadow, MA)…read more I had an extremely uncomfortable and unprofessional experience at this location. From the moment I arrived, I was met with hostility. The nurse who administered my drug test was rude and dismissive. I politely said "thank you" multiple times and received no response. Just awkward silence throughout the exam. She repeatedly cut me off while I was answering questions, which made the interaction feel tense and disrespectful. The experience worsened during my physical exam. The doctor entered the room without any greeting and simply stared at me before asking for my name. She then began asking invasive and inappropriate questions that had nothing to do with a standard physical, including asking how often I "smoke on the job." She made condescending remarks such as, "I determine if you're healthy. I don't care how often you're in the gym. I have the last say to fail or pass you." When I spoke up for myself in response to her tone and comments, she abruptly canceled the exam. As I was leaving, she continued to act unprofessionally smiling, staring, and taunting while closing the door. The entire encounter felt unnecessary, hostile, and deeply disrespectful. As a person of color, this experience felt racially charged and discriminatory. No one should be treated this way while simply trying to complete a required medical exam. I would strongly advise people of color to consider going elsewhere, as the treatment I received here was degrading and unacceptable. Something has to be done. They can't keep treating people like this.

About a month after we started services, the clinic emailed me to tell me that they had ongoing issues with my insurance company (something never mentioned during the intake process) and they would have to cut our appointment time basically in half. When I initially pushed back on this, I was told by the clinic director "well it's something" as if my child wasn't worth more than "something." What an offensive thing to say to a parent! They agreed to keep the full appointments and I was told they would "figure something out" and let me know if there were any other options rather than billing me and my insurance for a full session yet only providing half of that time. Months went by, there were a few miscommunications with appointments, and I was over-charged several times reinforcing how poorly managed this clinic is. Honestly, I should have seen the many red flags then and cut ties at that point but I wanted my son to continue with the OT services. I cancelled one appointment weeks in advance because my son was having surgery and they charged me a cancellation fee that is higher than my copay. They cancelled an appointment on me with an hour's notice and barely apologized. After this, the clinic director, who I have spoken to several times and consistently found to be one of the most condescending people I've ever dealt with, called me to tell me they would be cutting the appointment times immediately. The next thing she said to me was "so I don't know what you want to do" which I basically took to mean they no longer wished to have my son as their patient because he wasn't profitable enough for them. As I said, the clinic itself is great and I think the therapists are also, but the management leaves a lot to be desired. If you want to be talked down to, overcharged and not receive the full services your child needs, this is the place for you. Otherwise, I would highly recommend looking elsewhere.

Services are provided for individuals with developmental differences which impact their ability to succeed at home, at school, or in the community. A child's main 'job' is playing and learning, yet delayed developmental milestones can impact a child's capacity to achieve success in their daily lives. At Cater 2 Kids OT, we evaluate children's skills for playing, school performance, and daily activities and compare them with what is developmentally appropriate for that age group. We then design a child-driven and family-oriented approach that helps your child become more independent in everyday tasks. Cater 2 Kids OT therapists can help kids with various needs improve their cognitive, physical, sensory, and motor skills, as well as enhance their self-esteem and sense of accomplishment.
