I'm a 66 year old woman and they fixed my leg by replacing my knee and putting in metal rods in my femur and tibia. That was 3 and a half months ago. I'm lucky I can walk and feel as good as I do. I'm back to work and I'm not using a walker or cane. They took such good care and listened to me and took their time. I never felt rushed or invisible. The office staff is great too. If you need a top rate ortho surgeon he's your guy. Even my PCP said he was great and that I was lucky to get him as an ER patient.

I liked working with my physcial therapist. She seemed knowledgable; however, though the exercises were good, they didn't really help with my back pain. When my sessions ended, my PT asked me to go back and change answers on my questionnaires to indicate that the PT helped. As a medical person myself, I felt uncomfortable going back and changing answers. The other was that though most of the assistants were good, some of them seemed to spend too much time fooling around, and I would have to call to them to find out what the next exercise was.

It can take a year to gain muscle strength back. My PC sent me to Spooner on Litchfield in Surprise, and I am getting excellent care there. I first went to Dr. Wiltgen a few years back for relief from chronic plantar fasciitis pain. I specifically sought him out because of his experience with ART. Right before my appointment I hurt my shoulder lifting a heavy piece of luggage overhead. Within 2 visits I got complete relief from my shoulder pain and full mobility restored. He also helped me get relief from my plantar fasciitis pain after years with 2 different podiatrists, PT, dry needling, cortisone and other therapies failed. I have gone to several different chiropractors over the years in different states for spine, neck and hip pain. Dr. Wiltgen is the first one to provide such individualized treatment. Every time he sees you he asks questions and does an assessment to see exactly what is going on with your body. He then customizes the treatment and gives you follow up if needed. I have also done dry needling with him for my lower back/SI and he is very skilled. I convinced my husband who also went to other chiropractors and was skeptical, to see Dr. Wiltgen. He has had chronic back issues and also developed frozen shoulder. He has helped give my husband more mobility and pain relief from the frozen shoulder than the other modalities he tried (hydrodilation) and also helps him keep his spine and back healthy. There have been times when Dr. Wiltgen has accommodated us with early appointments and his staff is great and will get you in if you are in acute pain. Restored youthful range of motion to my shoulders when everyone else (high profile established sports docs) suggested full reverse shoulder replacements and skipped over the downside of the procedure. Even friends who had the replacements failed to mention the mobility restrictions that would have eliminated some of my favorite low injury sports like SUP. Pain was gone, shoulders are functionally restored to my teen years, and extremely happy to be living and sleeping without pain for the first time in 50 years !!
