They also don't accept electronic payments so we have to write checks for them and (gasp) mail them with an actual postage stamp LOL. We had my mom's roof repaired with another company that starts with Q and they were horrible (she called to make the arrangements, not us). Their patch job failed multiple times and they never even told her she needed a new roof. I trust that after all these years, Kyle Co knows their stuff, even if they lack the bells and whistles of a newer company. They also aren't the warmest coals in the fire, but roofers don't need to have the best bedside manner, in my opinion.

I recently had to purchase a new roof prematurely because the comp shingles provided by Kyle were a lesser quality than what I had purchased. This info was based on input from 3 different roofing companies and ABC roofing supply company. During demo, it was realized that the induction vents provided were the size of a pencil, as opposed to the needed 10x10 inch squares. Not only was the workmanship ineffective, but I was overcharged for the work order by about $1400. I know this to be true, because my new roofer had to rework the vents and purchase new vent covers, and they charged me less than $300.00. Not sure if Kyle Roofing is still in business, but they deserve to be a thing of the past.

The planning was thorough with visual video representations of what our bathroom would look like upon completion. This together with the detailed budget and a guarantee that the cost might be less but would not be more than the estimate were huge factors in easing the pain of spending so much money. Crizer employs great employees. One of them, Ethan, did the carpentry, electrical and plumbing work in our bathroom (all of the work but the tile). As he spent over 3 months with us, we got to know him as a person and the quality of his work. I simply can't say enough about this young man. Every day when I walk into our bathroom I smile. The quality of Ethan's is stellar. He works efficiently but with precision and because he can complete carpentry, plumbing and electrical work with had no delays. In addition, Ethan kept the construction area extremely tidy. What impressed us, though, even more was Ethan's demeanor. Although quiet and calm, he communicated with us on a daily basis, updating us on his ETA each morning and on the progress he had made on our bathroom. He is one of the reasons why Crizer has been so successful. They hire quality people. The crews arrive every day at 7:00 a.m. and often stay well past 7:00 p.m. 11 hour day minimum. Most respectful contractors who start that early wrap up by mid to late afternoon -- especially on Fridays. The day I wrote this, (Friday) they were here over 12 hours. What's most frustrating is the lack of respect for the immediate neighbors. We've politely asked multiple times for them to be more mindful of the noise and late hours, but nothing has changed. In addition to the excessive construction noise, workers regularly encroach onto neighboring properties, toss materials into adjacent yards, and even bring a dog that urinates/defecates on neighboring lawns without cleaning up after it. Worker just hangs out at worksite well after work hours (11 hours+) walks his dog and acts as if he lives here. He doesn't. This company continues to show little regard for the neighbors living here. I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere. There are far more professional and considerate construction companies out there. And if this company's sign appears in your neighborhood, be prepared for extended workdays and no consideration. For those seeking contractor recommendations, there are several reputable companies that maintain reasonable working hours and demonstrate greater consideration for nearby residents throughout the construction process. Just hit me up I know a few great ones I can recommend. SKIP this one. UPDATE 6/20: Did I mention they work holidays AND weekends, so if you are hoping for a reprieve and enjoy outside time, think again! Hired them to repaint the house. While most of the work on the walls was fine, all of the other…read moreproblems make me strongly discourage hiring this company for all but the simplest of jobs. Upon completion of the job I noticed none of the interior doors closed properly. Upon further inspection I discovered that for some reason all of the hinge screws were replaced with random mix and match screws with various head types which made the doors unable to close. I complained and asked that they be replaced with proper hinge screws and they said they would do that. Unfortunately, they instead selected very thick, long screws which were still not hinge screws (see photo comparing hinge screws with what they selected). The doors were usable but still did not operate like they did before. As these screws were very oversized I was forced to remove them all, fill the holes with wooden dowels, and then add in the proper hinge screws. This job was made even worse as the painters for some reason took the doors off the frames but painted the hinges, many of which were brand new and needed to be replaced. They also badly scratched every door knob in the house, which was frustrating since they were replaced just before this project started. Outside of the door issues, they forgot to paint a few areas and got paint on trim in a few places, but I would have probably overlooked this had the doors not created hours of labor and cost me hundreds of dollars in replacement hardware.

He will always do it the right way rather than the cheap way. His recent project for me has been the replacement of my old windows with new vinyl double-pane windows. He and his crew true those windows and sliding doors to the micrometer and have sealed up the windows so tightly that nothing can get through.
