What an amazing place! I was not expecting the very high standard of this hotel. The front desk staff were extremely nice and helpful. I was upgraded to a superior room at the concierge level. The room is extremely comfortable with a cloud like Bed. I slept like a baby. The amenities in the room are great. A TV where all the channels work and a comfortable place to sit and drink your coffee. What was best was the club lounge. They serve dinner from about 5 PM to 7:30 PM and the spread was great. I did not have to go out for dinner. There were beef and chicken sliders, french fries a charcuterie, selection, fruits, tiramisu, cookies, and a variety of drinks. I had breakfast the same place. This included salmon, capers, bagels, toast, oatmeal, eggs, potatoes, chicken, sausage, sausages, Yokuts, variety of pastries, juice, oatmeal, cold overnight, oats, and so much more. This was all complementary! Does it get better than this? What I really enjoyed was the spa/hot tub. It was clean and actually hot. I highly recommend this hotel. For such an expensive hotel, I expected better. The bed, pillows, etc. were comfortable and of Marriott quality. However, the same cannot be said for the functionality of the room. First, it was impossible to get the new (?) digital thermometer in the room to make it cooler. Are they doing this on purpose to save money? Second, the bathroom seemed like it had been redone fairly recently (2020?). However, it does not seem like the designer knows much about bathroom design as evidenced by the dim, yellow lighting. And why is there even a bathtub? This is a hotel that is probably 90% business travelers. A walk-in shower would be preferred. The redesigned tub/shower got rid of the shower curtain and had a half glass shower wall installed. As this half wall does not contain the water from the shower spray, the bathroom floor would continually get doused, even with the very low pressure shower. And due to the continual water on the floor, all the floor tiles were cracked or loose. Also, why is there no cover on the peephole? That is now standard in even low budget hotel rooms. I expect more from Marriott. Note: the only thing that redeems this hotel to 2 stars is the staff. Everyone I was in contact with was very pleasant and professional. read more

This hotel lacks guest security. Last night 11 vehicles were broken into right in front of hotel entrance. That's 11 car alarms sounding and hotel staff ignores this. Guest Safety and Security are not a priority for this hotel and the staff. For safety please consider others area hotels that do care about guest safety. read more

Four stars for super friendly people! Hotel itself is between 3-4 stars due to: 1) carpet in the rooms. Please update to the hard wood flooring. I don't like worrying about what's in/on the floors. My coworkers agreed. 2) no room service or dining before 5pm. Maybe this is a more specific request for west coasters but we were hungry and wanted to stay in the hotel. It was like that Mervyn's commercial from the 1980-1990's- open open open! Overall, the rooms were nice and the food in the hotel restaurant was good. They had carne asada fries on the menu which were super yummy! Parking was easy and check in/check out were great. the oldest in our group was 18 so we had a bit of a problem getting in; however, the lady in the front desk was kind enough just let us through to our room (which we had paid for in advance ) while she talks to the manager and we ended up staying the night... On top of that, the commodities are all complete. From soap, towels, microwave, frigdge, wireless charger, EVERYTHING! The beds also smelled so fresh and clean without stains. I know this should be the bare minimum but i just want to commend them for a good job at how well they did these things over here. My friend and I attended a very nice event at this venue. The hotel lobby was beautifully decorated and clean and also busy. Seems that there were several different functions going on, but things were clearly marked, so there was no confusion about which party room you were going to. Two bars were set up inside the ballroom, and they served a good variety of alcoholic beverages. However, to my big disappointment, they did not offer any kind of non-alcoholic wine or beer. So I settled for seltzer water. The food buffet was set up in the lobby, and it was nice.The food was good, but it was kind of bland. The organizer had taken note about food allergies and special diets, so that was great. The best thing about dinner was the chocolate cake. Sometimes cakes are dry and too sweet, but this was worth the trip. I would have given one more star, but the real letdown was having to drink Starbucks coffee from paper cups. No, come on! I don't value Starbucks coffee that much, and at this type of ethnic party, not drinking from real coffee cups was not nice. We were not attending a picnic here. Warning Please be cautious when reserving a room at this location‼ As a Marriott member, I've always enjoyed staying at Atlanta Marriott, Alpharetta and other Marriott properties around the country. Until September 2023. Sold my property and required a place to stay for a few days while recovering from surgery I had a few weeks prior. Everything seemed to be going well. Checked out at front desk several days later after enjoying a restful stay. A few days later, I noticed a a pending charge from Marriott on my bank card for $700.00 -- which was odd because the hotel bill was fully paid upon check out. I called the hotel and spoke with the front office desk manager, Sidney Wood. He pulled up the previous reservation and stated "there were damages to the room and I was billed for the damages." I was in shock and requested pictures of the hotel room with a "date and timestamp." The front desk manager, Sidney Wood emailed me pictures (with no date or timestamp) of the hotel room and the damages. The room resembled a mini war zone. A long steel railing from the shower had been ripped off the shower wall, along with the steel shower door handle. The window also had extensive damages. The phone was awkwardly hanging behind the night stand and a box of Kleenex were shown in the toilet, etc,. I was in total shock. I emailed the front desk manager, Sidney Wood again and stated; 'I was not responsible for any damages' and asked again for the pictures with a "date and timestamp." He mentioned "he saw the room and I did it." I requested a callback from the General Manager, Mr. Etcheberrigaray. Several days passed and the GM finally called back. I explained to him that I did not damage the room and I was the only person in the room-and asked him to look at the cameras to see who could've entered the room, once I left and also requested pictures of the room with a 'date and timestamp'. I never received any support documents or pictures with a 'date and time stamp'. The front desk Manager, Sidney Wood emailed me back a second time and accused me of damaging the room with absolutely no proof and advised me that "I could take my business elsewhere." Shortly thereafter the hotel GM--Mr. Etcheberrigaray called me back and simply stated after his investigation it was determined that I caused the damages to the room because I was the last person in the room and the 'housekeepers' found it that way. Marriott once again, submitted charges to my bank with the same pictures and 'no date or timestamp.' I called the bank and disputed the charges and mentioned I'd been a Marriott member for several yrs, stayed at that Marriot many times before with no issues. I was recovering from surgery while at the hotel and requested help from the valet to take my luggage down stairs because I couldn't lift anything heavy, post surgery. The bank declined to pay the damages. I called Marriot corporate office and escalated several times. The resources I spoke to would only state, they received pictures from Marriot, Alpharetta and the GM, Mr. Etcheberrigaray stated I caused the damages with absolutely no proof at all. I sent a certified letter to the CEO of Marriott and didn't receive a response. Thus, I cancelled my Marriott membership and have never stayed at any Marriott property again. Wanted to write a review many times, but it brought up so much frustration and disappointment, I just couldn't. Writing this review is painful and disturbs me deeply. But I need to share my experience. If you are staying at Marriott Atlanta hotel; please take pictures of the hotel room upon 'check out' as a safeguard mechanism. If this could happen to me, it could happen to you. I now realize Marriot simply doesn't care about there hotel guest or Marriott Reward members. There was no thorough 'due diligence' and my dispute was completely discarded. To any companies, vendors, organizations or prospective guest that may be considering this specific hotel, be cautious. Staff is great.. They knocked on my room at 8:15am and I let them know I'm didn't need any service. Seemed early but all good. I went to work and when I came back the staff had come into my room and taken two water bottles that I had to pay for the night before. No cleaning or service had been done to my room But they removed all my water so I would have to pay for more. It's completely unacceptable for a hotel of this caliber to 1) charge for water, as there is no water in the room 2) to remove water I had purchased without cleaning my room. I had planned on switching to Bonvoy this year from Hilton. I spent over 40k with Hilton globally last year but wanted to switch to bonvoy. My first stay trying it out.. very clear I made a mistake. The beds were not very comfortable. The coffee maker was dirty. No complementary water in the room. No acknowledgment of titanium status. But most troubling was the fact that the restaurant downstairs and the bar area cannot make coffee past 10:30 AM. Not even black coffee. You cannot even order a cup or a pot of coffee in the entire hotel. Also no room service. It's time to bring that back. I stayed here for two nights on brief visit to the area but I would not come back. They get an extra star simply because there is one peloton bike in the workout area, so that is a plus. This review is for the event room. I was invited to Medieval Times Christmas party which was here the first week of December. The venue was absolutely beautiful. The Hotel Christmas decoration were amazing. Totally IG-worthy. The staff also very friendly, and helpful. There's a nice bar at work the lobby which seemed pretty busy the night I was there. There was also a bar inside the event room so we could choose where to drink from. The hotel is smoke free in every area. There's also plenty of parking. BED BUGS. While laying in my hotel bed, I noticed a bed bug run across the pillow. (I did a simple google search to verify that's what it was). I immediately packed my bags, notified the front desk, showed them videos of the bugs, and checked out. The next morning I noticed bites on my stomach. The part more shocking than the bugs... the hotel's handling of the situation. They simply told me "sorry about that" and did not charge me for the 5 hours that I was there. They did not offer any compensation, dry cleaning, NOTHING. Additionally... it's important to note that the room did not appear to have been cleaned prior to my arrival. There was body hair on the bathroom counter, an earring on the carpet, a white gooey substance on the toilet seat, and a leaky shower. read more

One of the best Marriott hotels I have stayed at. Friendly customer service, clean clean clean room and bathroom, great bed, huge TV (very high def or probably 4k), the absolute BEST BREAKFAST EVER!!! it was a full bar with freshly made pancakes, waffles, eggs (eggs premade), with buffet that includes sausage, bacon (nice and thin and crispy), fruit (no bananas), granola, yogurt, juices (I didn't try), even had salmon with tomatoes and mozzarella, pickled onions, bagels, cereal, and more...didn't have as much time as I wanted to try more. To top it off, my free breakfast included this incredible meal! It is usually just a continental breakfast that is included, but this amazing place allowed you to use your free breakfast for the ENTIRE BUFFET!!! CAN'T WAIT TO COME BACK!!! read more

I was in Atlanta for about 24 hours and I came here for a work recruitment event. The person that set up the event had chosen this as the location. Naturally, since I was only coming here for this I decided to stay at the same hotel. I arrived at the Marriott on a Friday at around 1 AM. There was no line at check-in at that time and I was able to get a room in a timely manor. I was exhausted so I was just happy to make it to a safe place to sleep. I walked into my room and automatically felt at peace because all I needed was a warm shower and a bed. Safe to say that the hotel room itself was comfortable and clean but I specially liked the counter space in the bathroom and the space in the bathroom area. The next morning we had to go downstairs to the conference room area. I was pleased with the attention from the staff. They helped us set up the water station and the coffee station and they were attentive all day. I had breakfast at the buffet in the morning and had a cup of coffee a yogurt and some fruit. It was self serve except for the drinks. I liked that you can get as much or as little as you want and everything seemed fresh. Overall, we had a great experience in the conference room and the room was comfortable and perfect for the event. read more

This is a very basic Marriott and quite outdated. The carpet looked pretty old, with green and orange print throughout. The lobby left a lot to be desired, even though it was spacious. They were serving breakfast and dinner at the on-site restaurant which was great, but I didn't partake. They didn't have complimentary water available so they instructed me to get a Dasani from the hotel sundry store. SMH. The ice machines didn't work, so I had to go to the bar to get ice, wow. There was hair in my bed when I checked so just be aware and bring your own cleaning supplies. I Lysol-ed the whole room. The towels smelled like chlorine, which leads me to think they washed the wash cloths with pool towels. SMH. The bed was comfortable however, once housekeeping changed my linens. The shower gel in the shower was nice and had a pleasant smell. The morning of check out, I was constantly hearing doors slamming, so maybe it's a tactic to make people get up and check out early because I certainly did. They were not enforcing mask wearing in the lobby and of course it's Georgia so most folks, staff included, didn't have one on or it was under their chin. Not like other Marriotts. Staff is unhelpful, rude, and it's unbelievable their restaurant closes at 10 with zero options for room service, when the property is out in the sticks. Not a single UberEats or similar with less than a one-hour delivery time at 10:30 at night. No bar food, nothing at all, excepting candy bars. Additionally, the rooms aren't well appointed (clean) to expectation. Our room smells of mildew as the air conditioner hasn't likely been cleaned in heaven knows how long. Coffee maker is filthy. If this was a motel 6, or even a Courtyard, it would be understandable. For a flagship to have sunk so low is unbelievable. We won't be returning to any of the Marriott flagships now that we know they have "new post-covid policies." Not remotely worth the cost - value consideration. read more

If you want a good nights sleep, stay somewhere else. The walls are VERY thin so you can hear everything going on in the room next to you and in the hall. We had kids running up and down the hall at all hours of the night, there was a screaming baby in the room next to us that I am pretty sure was left alone since no mom would not respond to those types of screams, and then at 7 AM doors were just slamming shut. I did go to the front desk at 1 AM to complain about the noise but there was nothing they could really do. Beds were comfy and room was clean, but I can't wait to go home to take a nap. read more

This hotel is BEAUTIFUL!! One thing I really really dislike is that the WiFi is SUPER spotty! It was hard to find internet in random parts of the hotel and ended up using my data. Anyways, I stayed here with my family from 7/24 - 7/30 because 7/27-7/29 was my brother wedding weekend at the nearby Forsyth Conference Center. We bought rooms for our entire family, and everyone was so satisfied. The bar in the lobby is really nice, and the conference room area was awesome and spacious as well. The lobby was a nice place to relax and chill in. The fact that I stayed there for 6 days was amazing, and it felt like a second home after going in and out of the place. Lots of food options nearby. Only downside is that there is only 1 entrance to this (not where the sign is located on the main road). We didn't know we were supposed to make a turn at the traffic light and ended up missing the turn and ending up on 440. My 1 min destination turned into a 10 minute destination. I have no idea how this place is a 4 star hotel. Specifically chose the Marriott because the website said room service was offered and cleanliness was a top priority. I walk into the room and 1st thing I noticed was a VERY dirty wash cloth in the tub/ shower area. I was so tired from traveling & working all day so I let it go. Tossed it in the trash and took a shower. Afterward I was starving so I looked around for a room service menu. No luck. Called the front desk and they let me know that they're not offering room service at the moment.. yet still advertising it online. Heated indoor pool? Apparently closed as well. Then as the icing on the cake I pay for an extended stay so I can finally sleep in before my day of travel just to wake up at 730 to loud drilling and banging. The front desk forgot to inform me of the room renovations going on right next door. The comforter was as thin as the mattress. Aaand the "beautiful nature view" I paid extra for was a few trees & a parking lot. I tried speaking to a manager but the woman at the front desk said they were both busy in a meeting. I was relaxing in my hotel room and just received an expected surprise! Christian, front desk associate sent me sparkling wine and chocolate covered strawberries to celebrate the pending close on my new home! He and everyone took a genuine interest in my well-being and uplifted my spirit when I was discouraged with the homebuying process. I can't thank the management team and staff for making me feel at home when I did not have one. What the staff didn't know is that I lost my husband earlier this year. I would have to put this up there with one of the worst Marriott's ever. The staff was blasé about checking in and weren't even friendly, just existing perhaps. I usually take day-cations to local Marriott's to enjoy some me time. That I would spend money to stay in a hotel with sub-par service really bothered me. The first major issue was there was an infestation of bugs in my room. I mean about 40 that I caught. I had to turn the heat off just so they wouldn't come in faster. The sound of a large stinkbug flapping his wings before you are about to go to bed in the darkness is terrifying. When I informed the front desk, they told me this is normal and happens all the time. WHAT?! Didn't offer a discount or apologize. Why would anyone want to WILLINGLY spend money on an infested hotel? The next major issue was their confusion about purchasing a food package. The bar doesn't seem to be on the same page with the front desk, so they charge you differently and then you have to argue with the front desk because their system doesn't show you paid for a breakfast package. Not only that, there are unattended children in the gym and hot-tub (fully clothed) and the hotel let's it happen because they also have some American Girl service thing they have going on. This place was lower than a Residence Inn. I would avoid it at all cost. Management doesn't care and they are equally as rude. People stay here for work or convince but not because of what the Marriott brand should be. It's sad. Stay here if it's convenient but not if you expect a historical lovely Marriott experience. I usually stay here when I travel to Alpharetta. It is comfortable with a welcoming and friendly staff. Rooms are typical of Marriott hotels with comfortable beds and pillows. They have a pretty big workout facility compared to other Marriotts. I would have given it an extra star if they have free internet. Although, Gold and platinum Marriott members get the enhanced internet ($18.95 a day) for free. read more

When I checked in the girl behind the counter (Avalon) barely acknowledged me. They were completely unorganized and the place is not as clean as it used to be. Not sure where to start!! We had a great Uber ride into the hotel and while we waited at the front counter to check in, a gentlemen came by and welcomed us to the hotel. When we got to the front, Sharon helped us and was so very friendly and welcoming! We told her about our wonderful Uber experience and while chatting about it, she got us all booked in, updated my Rewards # and even upgraded us to the consierge service! Man, can this day get better? Oh yes it can!! Sharon was apparently just the beginning! Our rooms were incredibly clean and well maintained and we had pool views....not that we were there for any amount of time!! Becaaaauuusseee.... Sharons hook up with the concierge room includes wonderful appetizers and desserts in the evening (no host bar) and then full hot breakfast in the am, printer, TV, comfortable chairs and work areas!! That upgrade did not go unnoticed or unappreciated!! Yelp now and Trip Advisor is next!! Its not just about that free surprise though.... The meeting rooms are so easy to get to and quick access to bathrooms, elevators, rooms etc... They were comfortable in both temperature and seating! The GM (Keith) came and shared some things about customer service and their company wide goals of exceeding the clients expectations so that they have a brilliant experience!! We did indeed!!! During a break, I went to Starbucks at the bar area and Valerie (who had just popped over there to get a coffee for her guest in the restaurant) was nice enough to help me since no one was around!! Do you know the great service just continued there too ???? She drinks Chai too and brought over her personal spice that she adds in her tea to have me try it!! Good Gosh, you guys just rock!! Sorry for a long post. I emailed this to the hotel, including Lucas Sneddon with no response, so I'm following through on my heads up to them.... I was looking forward to my five night business trip stay at this location, especially when I received two duplicate emails regarding the steps they're taking to clean the facilities along with the restaurant being temporarily closed. In addition, I got a really quick chat response via the Bonvoy app from a question I had pre-arrival. My pre-arrival expectation of having a great stay was set high only to be dashed immediately after checking in. The first room had an empty water bottle laying outside the trash/recycling bin. No big deal, right? In checking the sheets, I found several long hairs. Still no huge deal, right? The straw that broke the camel's back was when I turned the light on in the bathroom and found the floor COVERED with different lengths of hair. For the record, I'm bald, so it wasn't mine plus I just arrived. I lost complete confidence in their enhanced hygiene protocol considering the room couldn't even be considered having a normal cleaning. I did call the front desk and immediately received an apology and was moved to another room within minutes. I was offered to be moved to a higher floor and probably should have accepted the offer since it was likely the second room had the same cleaner, but I declined because I only wanted a clean room. Guess what? The second room was not as bad as the first, but there were still hairs on the bathroom floor and the toilet along with an empty water bottle between the headboard and nightstand. It was after 10:30 pm at this point and I just "accepted it" because I needed to get ready for my work meetings and it was late. I highly thought I would get an apology from management the next day, but to date I have received NOTHING from management. Here are the other issues: - they put the fitted sheet on upside down, which in and off itself is absolutely no big deal except one corner came up. What it did reveal was how disgusting the mattress pad was when I decided to take a look at what I was sleeping on, guess what? Yes, many different kinds of hair all over. Let me say at this point that we do own two short-term rentals and there is zero excuse to not see how soiled the mattress pad is and that it needs to be changed just like the set of sheets. the pre-arrival emails stated they would clean the rooms every third day of the stay, so I put all of my things up only to have no one come. When I talked with the Front Desk clerk that night, he gave me a bit of attitude and said I was supposed to request it. In re-reading the pre-arrival email, it still said nothing about me having to request it. He later called and offered to move me to another room because housekeeping wasn't even going to be onsite the next day. I declined a room move for two reasons: 1) I had no confidence another room with be clean at this point and did not want to pack up and move, and 2) I had already decided to cut my stay a day short and stay in town with friends since I was a former Atlanta resident and they were tired of hearing me complain about my bad experience. I did ask the clerk to have a member of management reach out to me and, guess what again? No call came from management, - to have an almost empty hotel, one would think a customer would be acknowledged with some kind of greeting when they pass through the lobby, but none except for one time I was told "good morning" on my last full day. For the record, I checked in with the Mobile app, so I didn't have to stop at the front desk, - the parking lot had the same leftover fast food trash and various other trash throughout my stay. Plus the trash can beside the common area ice machine had the same trash sitting outside of it for more than a day. It was easy to see since I had to walk past it each time I got off the elevator and I also had discarded some takeout in the trashcan to avoid a smelly room. In summary, I very much recommend you avoid this hotel unless you're fine with taking your chances. Heck, I took a chance on a LaQuinta a couple of weeks earlier while on a personal trip and it killed me because I have Marriott elite status, but they offered pets to stay free. My LaQuinta stay was by far more enjoyable and cleaner than this Marriott!! read more

We attended a corporate dinner/banquet here with open bar/drink tickets. The hors d'oeuvres were good. If I'd known how awful the dinner was going to be, I would've eaten more appetizers. Very poor beer selection. I tried both the merlot and the cab. Both were low quality. They served some kind of baked chicken that I didn't even try because it did not look appetizing. I grabbed some salad, 2 slices of the sliced beef/onions/mushrooms, 4 chunks of baked salmon, some potatoes and green beans.. The potatoes were too salty but the green beans were good. Salad was decent. The beef tasted very stale, and the one piece I bit into was tough. I had to get another plate so I could remove all the beef, onions and mushrooms and prevent contaminating the rest of the food. The salmon was dry, but edible, It was served on spinach and red bell peppers. I'm not a red bell pepper guy, so I had to eat around them. Tried a piece of cheesecake for dessert. It had zero flavor. They serve fake, low quality food here. It was a big disappointment for a Marriott of this caliber. I left hungry. read more

This place was pretty much the worst Marriott we have ever been to. The bathrooms leaked everywhere, the food was pretty terrible AND overpriced (except for the breakfast, that was decent, just overpriced), the room had dirty carpets and the staff was NOT friendly or helpful generally. Not even the coffee machine worked! The waiter in the restaurant was rude and gave us something WORSE to replace our already unsatisfactory dish. The walls were thin...and the ambience was more than strange. Again, terrible service. Don't stay here. read more

I had an amazing stay here at the Atlanta Marriott. Sidney Wood III provided good customer service and he went above and beyond to ensure I had a great stay. Everyone there was great and I would recommend this hotel to anyone that is looking for a upscale stay with great amenities. read more

Three star hotel. High prices that don't match the product. Dated finish. Cracked caulking and last century bathroom. McDonald's level food in their concierge lounge on the top 8th floor (where I stayed). Beds are three star too. No BeautyRests here. Gym is also nothing to write home about as is their attempt at a restaurant (bistro really right in the lobby). HBO Go should come included, but didn't work (code 734). For 399 (corporate rate) I stay in the likes of Fairmont, always a truly five star experience. This place isn't even close to a Westin. Bottom line: don't waste your money. read more

Wow - stayed here last week and the bartender helped himself to an extra tip on my credit card. I took a picture of the receipt after tipping and couldn't believe it when I saw my credit card charge. Looked at my receipt and saw the charge was higher - yep, guess he felt he needed a better tip? read more

I just love this hotel. The staff, the Platinum Platinum Elite check-in experience, the room quality from linens to the extra towels as my standard request. The breakfast is fantastic and the pool is perfect, indoor and out. This is the place we reserve rooms for our out of town guests (who aren't staying with us) and I'm proud to have them stay here as an alternative. Weekend prices are really really good and I've stayed here a few times myself and have booked family and friends here and I don't think there is much room for Improvement. Marriott never fails to impress me and this hotel is managed to the highest of the Marriott standards. read more

I stayed here with my husband. This hotel is nice and close to the American Girl Store. There were a lot of people staying at the hotel over the weekend. The rooms were clean but seemed small. Breakfast is a little expensive ($20 per person) so get it included with your room. They serve basic buffet but also make omelettes, pancakes and waffles. The walls are very thin, we could here the people talking in the room next to us. There was an incident were our neighbors were smoking and it came through our bathroom. The smell was overwhelming but the hotel gave us a new room on a different floor. I don't think they were smoking cigarettes *wink wink*. The hotel has an indoor pool, gym, and the rooms have small refrigerators. There was a microwave but it was on a different floor. Overall the hotel is nice and has a bar and restaurant. You can also do room service and the regular stuff. read more
