This hotel looks newer which is really nice to see as most hotels often have been around a while. The interior welcomes you with a nice spiral staircase to the next floor. (you enter on the 2nd floor BTW). There is a bell at the front desk if no one is manning the area. The rooms are nice with a sitting area and bedroom area. there is one TV that can be faced into either area for viewing and a nice little wet bar with fridge. One the first floor you will find a spa along with the pool and workout room. The machines in the workout room look very dated and only one treadmill seemed to want to work. In the same parking lot is a Boston Pizza so you don't have to go far for dinner and the hotel serves complimentary breakfast in the morning. The really nice part is that they have real eggs, not powdered or preformed ones you find in other places. From the hotel you are short drive to shopping and restaurants. And if you like to take long walks/hikes the preservation area is close by. You can walk the trails for free but if you want to park it's $5. They will take US currency on a 1 for 1 exchange or the front desk will exchange small amounts for you. Internet seems to work pretty well with few issues. Overall I am pleased with this hotel, and having never stayed at a Best Western I may not overlook them the next time I am looking for a hotel.

I had called two nights before my stay to confirm the details and to also request if we could possibly check in a bit early due to the timing of the wedding and time we needed to get ready. The woman I spoke to said she would note it but could not promise anything. I understood that but was happy to have the request in. Normally check in is 3pm, she said she would try for 2pm. I was pleasantly surprised when we were able to check in around 1:45. That was so much help for us as we'd traveled a long way to make this wedding and need just a few extra minutes to take a break and get ready. The bed was extremely comfortable and the bathroom was spacious and modern. Didn't feel crammed into the room. The coffee in the room was not great. I like the easy set up of the machine but the coffee didn't taste very good. The coffee available downstairs in the lobby was much better. I do not expect to be in the area again so I don't see myself returning but if I did, I would happily stay again.

When I went with my partner, it was almost empty, so it felt like we had the whole place to ourselves. Real private, real peaceful. Staff was great too super mindful of my partner's allergies, which I appreciated heavy. I had the Linguine di Mare with mussels, clams, bay scallops, prawns, all swimming in this rich tomato sauce they call sugo (had to look it up, not gonna lie..haha). Seafood was fresh, pasta cooked right, and the flavours...On point! I went with the large size--worth the $3 upgrade. Paired it with a glass of house wine, and yeah, that combo brought it all together. Good food, chill ambiance, and a laid-back luxury vibe. Rating: 4 out of 5

One arrival, you park on the left side is the closest to the skiing area, walk around to the back and you have access to the rental and lift ticket pick up. Rentals are easy, they even give beginners poles (not that they should get poles). I took my newbie from magic carpet to lift managing to get down the hill without falling and with great control. People are nice on the slopes, a patron saw someone in our group had fallen and just checked on them. I also helped some mangled newbies untwist their legs with the fall. Not sure where to get hot chocolate but the weather was nice, the people were nice. I noticed on the magic carpet my newbie kept sliding backwards so the lift operator pulled the newbie thru to make sure she could ride the lift, thanks! The location was not crowded that I could ski backwards without worrying about hitting anyone- oh I didn't get any issues skiing backwards too. It's a pity March 19 was the last day open. Will return next time when I have some new skiers to train.

The hype was worth it. The food was delicious, the ambiance was out of this world and the waitstaff was attentive yet unobtrusive and was able to anticipate our needs and keep us happy. Located in the Elora Mill area which seems to be a heritage site and has a quaint historic town vibe. Parking isn't available directly next to the restaurant so you park and walk across a bridge over a beautiful water mill feature which is obviously the name sake for the area. Parking isn't available complimentary so don't forget to get it validated once you walk in or are leaving the restaurant but obviously before you get back to your car otherwise your only options will be to pay out of pocket or make the trek over the bridge and back to the restaurant. Neither option is great and will leave a sour taste after your lovely experience at the restaurant. We had appetizers, drinks and main meals. My 3 brunch companions went with vegan options but I opted for a chicken dish which exceeded my expectations with its sheer size and deliciousness. The chicken was breaded and what was obvious to me was that the panko breading was well seasoned and elevated the dish to another level. The accompanying fries were divine. I also had a small salad which was fresh and crunchy and delicious. The entire experience was a 20 out of 10. From our seat overlooking the water we could see patrons at the associated spa in their robes on the roof deck enjoying what looked to be food from the restaurant. I could see myself coming back for the spa and lunch experience with libations on the roof deck.

Check-in was fast, even with the long lines. What's interesting is that the front desk has these little assorted vitamin tablets to put in your complimentary water bottle. I've never seen that before, but maybe that's what happens in a country with socialized healthcare. I totally appreciate that! The room itself was clean. The AC worked fine. I find that the air can be dry in hotel rooms, but I didn't experience any issues. The lobby has a lot of seating. The on-site restaurant had good food and great service. The staff was VERY patient with my big and loud family, which I also appreciate. The property isn't too far from shopping and restaurants. Though it was summer so the weather was nice. I can't imagine walking in the middle of winter, though I guess walking would be safer than driving for me since I'm not used to driving in the snow. The nearest grocery store is like a 5-min walk so it is doable. I recommend this Marriott property if you need a place to stay in Waterloo since it's close to restaurants, shopping, and the university.

The suites are enormous and feature a king bed and pullout sleeper sofa. There's a good sized kitchenette area that's completely stocked with dishes and cutlery plus fridge/freezer, microwave, sink and dishwasher - no cooktop. Bathroom is large and well lit and the towels are nice and large. Front desk staff were friendly and helpful. The free WiFi is very good or you have the option to upgrade if you're doing something that requires a lot of refreshes. We had no problem watching Netflix and doing work without the upgrade. Parking costs additional - $12 per night at time of review. There is a small garage and lot adjacent and a large parking area beneath the hotel. There are electric charging spaces available also. Facilities include an on-site restaurant serving breakfast and dinner. There's also an indoor pool, sauna and gym. Everything is clean and modern and the central location can't be beat - highly recommend.

Amazing location! Ski in, ski out, right in the village and all the action. We had a loft suite…read moreroom and it was perfect for our family of four. Parking garage was great. Hot tub and other amenities were on point. Never waited longer than a minute for an elevator. Staff was attentive and while they were busy, they definitely all deserve five stars. We would definitely stay here again. With that said a few things of note: 1. We were never told about the ski lockers or provided our combo for the lock. Perhaps a newbie ski family mistake for not assuming, but also frustrating. 2. I had called about clearance height for vehicles as we wanted to use our Thule on our SUV. The front desk was not much help. Had we known there is a valet lot for vehicles with rooftop boxes, we would have done it for the nominal fee. As I am sure many parents can relate, driving in a snow storm when you can't see out the rear is not fun... roof box solves that. 3. The restaurant on site is lackluster. Service is on point; however, food is just alright and pricey, it is chaotic, and why in the heck only "reservations get window seats" is a policy is beyond any family we spoke to. All these awesome window tables looking at the village and lake that go empty because "walk ins" are subjected to interior seating despite all those tables being empty our entire dining session is beyond me. This isn't Manhattan. 4. The restaurant bar, given how nice the rest of of the hotel is, looked pretty sad. You could see all the shelf lighting was defunct, it looked tired and not well kept. As a business owner myself, and for how front and center the bar area is, my gosh keep it tidy, lit up, and gleaming with some pizzaz. Thankfully for those of us with older kids it is open until midnight, and once again the staff is Johnny on the spot, but geez it has seen better days. I realize it sounds silly, but this hotel is pretty awesome and with the large lobby the bar area should be the North Star, not something I look at and wonder "are they closed already?"
