Elora Mill, located in "Ontario's most beautiful village" is a hotel and spa that is situated on top of the Elora Gorge with views overlooking the Grand River and Tooth of Time (an iconic rock formation). They have a restaurant overlooking the falls that is open all day (for breakfast, lunch or dinner). The venue is beautiful where many weddings and special events can be held here. It gives off tranquil vibes in a small town setting, the perfect getaway from Toronto! This review will only focus on the restaurant as my friend and I recently dined there. Reservations are highly recommended as walk-ins do not guarantee you a table. They also have a nice patio during the summer days as well. Foot traffic is controlled where there is security in front of Elora Mill (you can only enter if you want to dine at the restaurant/have a reservation, use the spa facilities, or are staying at the hotel). Lunch was great as we were seated in the lower level of the restaurant overlooking the Elora Gorge Falls and Grand River. We actually had the corner spot and the views were great. It got a bit sunny and warm at our table but nothing too unbearable. Service was great and attentive during our time there as well. The menus of the restaurant try to reflect the local, seasonal ingredients. For lunch there were a variety of options, some vegetarian, which will satisfy even the pickiest of eaters. For appetizers there are oysters, sweet corn soup, steak tartare, house terrine..and for mains they have pastas (in half or full portions), trout, veal schnitzel, a chicken sandwich, and a burger). There is also a wide variety of wines, cocktails, and non-alcoholic options available as well. They also have complimentary house made focaccia to start off your meal as well. Food wise, we ordered the following items: - Lumache "carbonara" (fresh semolina pasta, smoked potato, carbonara sauce) - Tomato strozzapreti (in-house pasta, heirloom tomato ragout, smoked stracciatella) - Tost sparking drink (5oz) We both ordered half portions of the pastas (both pasta are vegetarian!) and they were enough for us for lunch. The carbonara tasted rich and the pasta was cooked well - it was hard for me to believe that this dish was vegetarian as you could taste a bit of bacon in it! The tomato strozzapreti was al dente and the stracciatella and fresh basil tied the whole dish together. Overall, two great pasta dishes. Overall, a great experience and beautiful views at Elora Mill! A definite must visit if you ever visit Elora. Not only are the views scenic, but the food and service is delicious and friendly as well.

We had so much fun sling the mid day package. from noon to 5pm, enjoyed prosecco in the outdoor hot tub, the sauna, lunch, our couples treatment was amazing!! While in the upper relaxation room we watched a bald eagle flying over the river while sipping yummy tea! It was amazing!!!

Went here for lunch yesterday. We didn't have a reservation but they greeted us with smile and sat us right away . We asked for a table by the water . They said they had a reservation for that spot but they could give us something with a view . It was nice and relaxing . We ordered 2 pastas and some drinks . Everything was delicious and fresh . Service was on point , respectful and friendly. I had the mushroom bolognese. She said I could add chicken . The chicken came separate but was really tasty. I am not a chicken fan but this was actually super juicy, and amazing with a crispy skin, piece of chicken breast. The place was super cozy, and relaxing. Perfect for a relaxing retreat . What else can one ask for !

First off, Elora Mill is a beautiful place to visit! We came here to celebrate our Valentine's Day this year and the food did not disappoint. We decided to share a few plates to try it out and I can definitely say we will be returning. The duck was cooked perfectly and melted in your mouth and the Buccatini was absolutely delicious. Our one complaint was the service as we feel they didn't provide the highest quality service, especially considering it was a Sunday we decided to go therefore not very busy at all. My partner had requested in the booking that two glasses of champagne be at the table for when we arrive and we were disappointed this was not included.

When I die, if I go to heaven, I will eat here every night. The atmosphere, the people, the dimness of the lights, the view from the window, the cliff that you can see from the window, the waterfall, it is all so beautiful that you really start to think of the afterlife. The best part of all, the way the people treat me here, is the way everybody ought to be treated all the time. Regarding the food, obviously it's just as good as everything else I mentioned. Trust me it's worth the drive to a Elora.

This place has stunning views with the food to match. They served me, honey tossed carrots on a bit of ricotta with some parsley. It was amazing. I could eat it every day and that was just a side the beef Wellington was perfectly done, medium rare.

Ordered the Lamb and Chicken and they came with fixings (thinly sliced potatoes stacked, salad, and carrots). Since we were on a mini-moon the chef also brought out a snack and champagne for us Absolutely divine experience as the restaurant overlooks the water and the atmosphere is very calming. I thought it was a lovely experience and would recommend it to anyone visiting!

If you're coming to Elora, dining here is a MUST! The food was delicious, the service was superb and the vibes were lovely. I was able to make a same day reservation on a Saturday which I was so happy to be able to do so. The restaurant has a section with a view of the water, we requested being sat there and they were able to make it happen. The seating was spaced nicely, you were not too close to other tables - which I appreciated as my fiancee and I are quite the conversationalists. We started with the butternut squash soup - it was good but I would pass, nothing special. Next we tried the meal size lamb ragou pasta (a unique creation like gnocchi but with a different cheese replacing the ricotta), kale on top with a base of the ragu lamb on the bottom, it was amazing and I would definitely get it again. We added the beef short rib to the pasta on the side - it was delicious but very saucy. We tried the lamb sirloin and it was cooked to perfection with the right amount of seasoning to make the perfect dish. The service was paced well and there was no rush with the meal. The servers were attentive without being interrupting often. The service was the epitome of fine dining service. The price was on par with other fine dining establishments - 35$ for pasta, lamb sirloin (10oz) $56 as examples. Overall, I would recommend coming here if you are making a trip to Elora. I would recommend this on any day trip to Elora.

I had the pleasure of attending a wedding at the fabulous Elora Mill. Despite the rain, everything was fabulous, including the food! The ceremony was held inside The Foundry, across the Grand River. It was a very charming location. The reception was at The Granary, also a part of Elora Mill. Beautiful locations! For my entree, I chose the Farm Honey Glazed Duck Breast, served with cheddar grits and rosemary bacon jus. My friend chose the Pearle Farm Beef Tenderloin, with truffle shiitake, crushed fingerlings, and Madeira jus. Both were delicious! We all had the Juniper Tomato Bisque with braised oxtail and parsnip puree to start. The presentation was outstanding, with the soup being poured over the oxtail and parsnip at the table! Dessert was Earl Grey Crème Brulee with vanilla biscotti. Yummy! The reception actually started with some delicious hors-d'œuvres, with the lamb chops being everybody's favourite! It was a very enjoyable wedding and the venue was fantastic, including the great staff and service!

First off, thank you for satisfying our request to have the table close to the window and beside the falls. The service was excellent. Our service was friendly and attentive. The tables were cleaned thoroughly with appropriate cleaning agent and all customers are advised to put on their mask when they are in any public area or if they need to leave their table. Vaccination records were checked at the reception area. All provincial protocols were followed and we feel safe as customers dining here. All large variety of cocktails and there were also specials drinks and a prix fixe menu made just for the thanksgiving holiday event. We ordered the chicken pate, smoked trout, seared tuna salad, roasted Elora chicken and the pumpkin soufflé for dessert. The Elora chicken was my favourite with crispy skin and the meat is tender and juicy. I believe it's a local grown Chicken in Elora and it is extra tasty. As a fan for warm dessert, I didn't miss out on the pumpkin soufflé. The sweetness of the soufflé is just right for my taste and the soufflé is fluffy. Overall, it's a great experience. It's hard to travel out of the country these days and Elora Mill gave me a sense of the vacation mood. Perhaps we will stay for a night next time at the inn.

    East Coast Oysters

I drove a two hours challenging road trip to get to this place. After I got set down at out table with a spectacular window view of the cliff and water stream, everything is worthwhile. This is one of the very few restaurants I booked over the years that will actually pay attention to the special request notes for window sit. The food is also amazing, on par with Downtown Toronto top end restaurants and five stars hotels. The Chilled Cucumber and Green Grape soup is very creamy and refreshing. The Heirloom Beet and Cherry salad is so fresh, it tasted like the vegetable just got pickup at the garden. The Water Buffalo and Foie Gras terrine is a bit salty but when tasting with the blueberry chutney it will neutralize the saltiness and enhance the favor of the Water Buffalo. The Foie Gras also provide smoothness to the Water Buffalo meat texture. The East Coast Oysters is difference from the typical fancy restaurant oysters. Even though, the oysters are tiny but it is so flavorful like tasting the Atlantic Ocean. The Pan Seared Pickerel main dish fish skin is crispy, the fish meat is moist, and the corns are super fresh. I did not taste the Seared Albacore Tuna salad but my dad really enjoyed. My favorite dish of all is the Heritage Hen Ballotine. The chicken skin is fried to crispy like chips and the hen meat and sauce have a strong chicken favor. Just like a Cantonese old saying that chicken should have chicken taste. I would skip the desserts, as it only tasted average for its price. One thing I should mention is the Chamomile Sorbet, which tasted unique and something I never had it before. Overall, this is one of the best restaurants I have tried in Ontario. P.S. The road at the hotel front entrance was closed for the long weekend but the hotel do have a huge parking lot located on the other side of the water stream. Parking at that location is free when you dine at their restaurant. I suggest to preset the hotel parking lot location in the navigation app ahead of time.

Had dinner last night. The view here is beautiful when your sitting at the window. Dessert was not decorated, and very simple. I ordered the chocolate tart, came with some ice cream that was very sweet. $16, and not as good as the tart I get from Dufflet pastries, it was quite a disappointing end to our meal. The rest of the meal was mostly enjoyable. We ordered a dozen oysters, that were delicious, the hot sauce was impressive and house made. I ordered the lobster with rhubarb and strawberry and cream fresh, also something I won't be ordering again, I wasn't impressed with this dish, the flavours weren't a good melody together. A little on the bland side, $35, I would advise you skip this dish, and order another half dozen oysters instead. The warm olives were a nice mix of olives, soft, kind of melt in your mouth, not overly flavourful. I wanted something a little more flavourful for the wine we ordered. The Buffalo and foigras starter was absolutely delicious! We would definitely order this again, and really enjoyed this dish. It was the first time this dish came without some crackers or something to spread it over, which I would have liked to have had, maybe next time the restaurant would provide something crunchy to contrast this dish. Moving on to our mains, we both really enjoyed these dishes, and would order them again! They were just such a fun mix of flavours. The scallops were tiny, about 1.5-2 cm diameter with I think 5 on the plate, but cooked well and surrounded by perfectly cooked veggies and sauces, I was happy we ordered several starters and appetizers, as this was an extremely small portion size. The rib was an appropriate size meal, and was delicious, the carbs that it came with were infused with flavour and very satisfying! Dessert was a total let down. Very disappointed with my chocolate tart. The wine was excellent, we ordered the 1993 Foirano a wine from Rome, aged well, full body, the aroma infused the air as soon as the bottle was opened, so many flavours landed on our palate with every sip. I would highly recommend this bottle, there is one more left!! Staff of course were splendid, very knowledgeable on offerings, and pay great attention to detail. They make every guest feel at home.

I am really a City Person but Elora Mill's country style rustic charm is changing me. I would even consider a weekend getaway just to enjoy Cottage country and an excuse to stay in Elora Mill. The hotel is one of the most impressive property in the area. Towering over Grand Rivers with the breathtaking view. I can wake up to this gorgeous view every morning! Even as a day visit guest, you can enjoy a full meal in their restaurant, a snack and drink at the bar and even book a spa treatment! Some might argue that it is not cottage life? But this is cottage life the way I like it.
