No trash / recycling receptacles in the seating areas? I sure hope the clean up crew was sorting. The meadow was a mess when the crowd left. 2. Take a tip from Screen on the Green - Chalk aisles where no one can sit. People were constantly walking over us. 3. LEAVE YOUR HEATHEN CHILDRENS AT HOME (or maybe the adults with heathen children should get a baby sitter or stay at home themselves). Mommy and Daddy next door bought their brat this light wand that blinked and blinked and blinked every time the kid moved it. The wand was fluttering like a hummingbird. Who in their right mind let someone sell circus trinkets? I felt like I was at a Ringling Brothers Circus. 4. Bathrooms - Plentiful but a hike away. 5. Have you talked with other Class A event planners? 6. Beer - 24 ounce beers promote over intoxication and warm up quickly. Please tell the beer hawkers to STFU when the group is singing. 7. The Shows - of the three shows this one was truly the best. Please don't bring the Who, if you recall in the 2010 Superbowl, they can't sing any more. 8. Unsure why, but there were large panels on each side of the stage. Made it very difficult to see the LED Show on the screen behind stage. Although I could see it from the bathrooms - which was a plentiful hike away. Smaller beers would make fewer trips to the bathroom. 9. Don't invite Wells Fargo back if they want to use their little Karioke trailer again. It was brutal on Pride weekend and made waiting in line painful. 10. Will I be back? Yes depending on the talent. The Eagles and the Conservancy get a 5 Star Rating. The company running the ground operation - 2 stars.

I really don't know the name of the bands, but the headline was a Tom Petty Tribute Band, REALLY REALLY good! Lots of cute shops, restaurants, paint pottery, walk around, playgrounds, play/splash fountain (bring a towel), cute coffee bar, etc. come enjoy a few hours. Plenty of parking around, just please be carof foot traffic. Security is always around; Duluth's Finest!!!

At the center is a big water fountain that makes the whole area feel like a gathering spot. There are tons of little shops and restaurants to explore, plus a paint-your-own pottery place that's really fun. Families will love the playground and splash fountain (definitely bring a towel if you've got kids). I also love the cute coffee bar--it's a perfect stop when you're just walking around. Overall, it's a charming spot that's great for an afternoon stroll, grabbing a bite, or bringing the family out. Always something to enjoy here!

I love being outdoors (when the weather in nice) and the access to so many different bands and the ability to spend all day immersed in the music. What I dislike is the absolute disregard others have for the environment and other people - throwing cups, cans, and other trash all over the ground when there are trash and recycle bins all over the place - absolutely lazy. And then the need to smoke in the sea of people - be is cigarettes/cigars or illegal substances... think of other people for once. Okay, rant complete. As for Sweetwater - they did an amazing job being organized this year. Despite rain, they kept us up to date on twitter about the lack of mud, our wristbands were mailed out well in advance for registration and getting in and out of the fest was super easy and painless. Re-entry was allowed with the 3-day pass (not the 1-days, apparently). They provide the RFID wristbands - once on, you can't really get them off again. But they work at the Sweetwater booths for drinks - awesome. The line-up was pretty great and they schedule the bands so that you can see pretty much everything - they post the schedule around the venue so you can find it easily at any time. There are water fountains so you can refill water bottles and are not required to buy water. Also, tons of food trucks and stands so you can eat all day and never have the same thing twice. Marta is the best bet for travel to and from the festival - there are 2 stations close by - one on the north-south line and one on the east-west. This makes it very convenient and eliminates the need for paying $20-$25 for parking. You can also Uber, but odds are that surge pricing will get you when you want to leave (mostly due to demand from other events in the area. Over all - it was an amazing weekend and I will most likely continue to attend.

This year was the 1st Annual Atlanta BBQ Festival held in the green parking lot at Turner Field…read more Although it was a bit warm outside, it smelled really good if you were standing on what I call BBQ Row - a row of competition BBQ teams that had set up for the BBQ tasting contest. I sampled several different teams, and my favorites were Lazy Bear and Fox Bros. For both teams the flavor of the meat without sauce was perfect - just the right amount of smokiness and tenderness. Fox Bros served a rib that was so well cooked I actually licked the bone. There were several other vendors on site - including Yelp! Some vendors had games or would take your photo with their wares. There were a couple of festival standards - a jewelry maker, t-shirt vendor, a vendor with aprons and BBQ mitts emblazoned with sports team logos, and of course, Sweetwater Beer. There was also live music. I was able to hear two acts - Running Wild Band (country/rock) and Antonia Lawrence (reggae gospel). I enjoyed both acts, and I especially loved one of the lyrics from a Running Wild song "I'll just drink until the memory of her is gone." Gotta love country! There was a face painting and temporary tattoo table for kids. There was also an area with inflatable kids games, but since I don't have kids and didn't borrow one for the event, I can't speak to any of these things. But they were busy, so I'm guessing the kids were enjoying the games. Overall, I think it was a great event. I think they had a good turnout but it will be more crowded next year as word gets around. And free BBQ can't be beat!

EAV Beer Fest. 130 beers available to sample- most craft, some shit beers (woodchuck I'm looking at you.. not like you are really a "beer"). $30 or so to get in an hour later than the VIPs, a small tasting glass that crushes if you manhandle it or try to hold the cup with your mouth, when using your hands to rifle through your purse, and a pint glass that your drunk ass might later leave in a cab. Free water for all, but you gotta pay $1 for a snazzy beer fest tatt that can be stuck anywhere you want to stick it. Food is available and is your typical fair, minus the fries. Though one odd food item I saw for sale this year was a turdunken burger.. I really wanted to try it but didn't think my stomach could handle that and banana beer, which by the way was very tasty. Tips:: - Buy your tickets early. This event always sells out; some years faster than others. - Cut through the line. In many cases there are a bunch of assholes right near the table that are standing there tasting... I'm not gonna lie I did this. - Pace yourself, but don't go too slow; the best beer goes quick.

They do a good job of getting both familiar and unfamiliar breweries to participate. The Bells tent had the heaviest wait. Besides the obvious part of the event- the beer- we had a great time. Chatting with other people in line makes this a great place to meet new people and run into old acquaintances (if only you could remember their name!!!). They had lots of food for sell, including tasty grilled cheeses sold by a group raising money for charity. I also had a funnel cake at some point. Bring cash! Bathrooms were far away from the beer, so you weren't smelling anything funky while enjoying your drinks. They also had a pavilion with a band, free water, and the beer bear running around taking pictures. They gave us plastic cups to drink out of and we got a pint glass on our wait out as they recycled the plastic. Good move EABF! I wish EABF (well, ALL the beer fests) would have a system for coordinating with cab companies. It was an issue trying to flag down a cab in EAV to take us back to Midtown, especially since we were competing with other drunk people. Even better, they should just sponsor shuttles to the closest MARTA station. BRING A CAMPING CHAIR. I really wish I had. It feels good to sit when you've got 5hrs there. After experiencing the massive energy of last year's festival, I knew the secret to success was arriving exactly as the gates opened to beat the rush. Even though the sky looked a bit gloomy and overcast, the vibrant energy of the festival grounds completely outshone the weather. I was determined to make this birthday legendary, and the universe clearly agreed because my signature panda headband stayed perfectly in place all day unlike the one that went flying into the wind last year! It is so refreshing to see an event take community feedback to heart, as the criticism regarding last year's pricing was met with much more moderate and fair vendor rates this time around. Navigating the aisles was a breeze thanks to a much-improved layout that felt more spacious while actually fitting in even more incredible local creators and food stalls. Getting in early meant I skipped the crowd chaos and had the rare opportunity to really connect with the vendors and soak in the atmosphere. I even managed to snap some adorable photos with the mascot panda and a very festive bunny. Possibly the Easter Bunny making an early appearance! One of my non-negotiables for any festival is tracking down the Sweet Chimney Bakery booth. I literally mapped out their location the moment I arrived because their treats are unparalleled. I went straight for my absolute favorite, the pistachio chimney cake filled with creamy ice cream, and it was pure perfection. To wash it down, I grabbed the most charming panda-themed juice thermos filled with fresh lemonade. It had just the right amount of zing without being overly sugary, making it the ultimate refreshing festival companion. The absolute crowning jewel of my birthday mission, however, was finally visiting Hello Yam! I missed out on their famous treats last year because I was simply too full, so I made it my personal business to prioritize them this time. Let me tell you, it was the smoothest dream. I have never experienced sweet potato prepared with such incredible flavor and texture, and I am officially spoiled for any other kind now! It is wild to think that Panda Fest only graces Atlanta for one single weekend in 2026, but the quality of the food, the improved organization, and the wonderful vibes made every second worth it. However, I found it to be a very enjoyable event. [ THE EXPERIENCE ] We arrived on a Saturday after 5pm. We thought for sure that was going to be a disadvantage, but I'm happy to report it seemed to work in our favor. We paid extra for the VIP tickets, which allow for faster entry and special VIP seating, but neither were needed for that late in the day. All entry lines, including walk-ups with no pre-purchased ticket were moving quickly. While some vendors had longer lines than others, we generally didn't have much of a wait time at all for our food. We carpooled with friends and shared everything, so it wasn't quite as expensive as I initially thought it would be. The longest line was for our MANGO SMOOTHIE and the most ridiculously priced item was the WATERMELON DRINK in a panda mug for $30. Parking was a little challenging, but no more than expected at such a large city event. I don't personally think the additional cost of the VIP tickets was worth it or even necessary, but to each his own. We filled our bellies up rather easily since we partially ate before arriving to keep our eyes and wallets in check. I only regret not getting the lamb skewers at Flames & Skewers Street Food. Festival of Chariots or Rathayatra is a celebration of Hindu and Indian culture featuring exciting live entertainment, singing, dancing, parades, and more. The Rathayatra festival originated in the ancient city of Jagannatha Puri in India 5000 years ago to celebrate the Hindu Lord of the Universe. In addition to the parades and other festivities, the festival features a vegetarian feast highlighting Indian cuisine, music, a dramatic presentation, art vendors, a magic show, face painting, henna tattoos, and much more. This cultural event is fun for the whole family and it is FREE. The Festival celebrates Lord Krishna's return to Vrindaban and is held annually in the months of June-July to honor Lord Jagannatha, which means Lord of the Universe. Lord Jagannatha is a particular Deity form of Lord Krishna, fashioned from neem wood and brightly painted. The residents of Puri have been worshipping this form for many centuries. Five hundred years ago, Lord Chaitanya, the most merciful incarnation of Lord Krishna used to daily visit Lord Jagannatha in the temple and see Him in a mood of intense separation, much like Srimati Radharani who was parted from her beloved Krishna most of her days. For the festivities; there are three chariots, one for each of the three deities; Lord Jagannatha, Lord Balarama and Lady Subhadra. The canopied chariots are decorated with flowers and balloons and are pulled with long, thick ropes by hundreds of people. The chariots are accompanied by a procession of devotees who are ecstatically dancing and chanting the Lord's Holy Names: Hare Krishna, Hare Krishna, Krishna Krishna, Hare Hare Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare. This Maha-Mantra or great chant is found in the Puranas and Upanishads and is specifically recommended in this age of Kali as the means of God realization. Lord Chaitanya personally designated it as the Maha-Mantra and practically demonstrated the effects of the chanting. The first time the Festival of Chariots was performed outside of India was on July 9, 1967 in San Francisco, under the supervision of His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada (1896-1977). Srila Prabhupada, as he is more affectionately known, is the Founder-Acarya of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) and is the tenth generation from Lord Chaitanya. Srila Prabhupada lead the Hare Krishna Movement, guiding his disciples to open temples and perform festivals all over the world.
