Nancy, Steve, and Megan are all wonderful people and hosts. Very accommodating and flexible in their style. This is their third season with the Atlantic Birches Inn. By all signs they have a firm hold on the art and difficalities associated with this line of work. Our unexpected room, the "Honeymoon" suite, provided us with a slight chuckle given we are in our Thirty-First Honeymoon Season and still counting. The room open, airy, and comfort. Featuring with 5 large bay windows overlooking the main street and down toward Old Orchard Beach. Our 31st Honeymoon included a private bathroom, two upholstered chairs, an arm chair and a "fainting chaise" (my favorite), and an oak desk for my nerdy internet access. There are two guest houses, the Main Inn and Adjacent Cottage. Both quaint and appear built by craftsmen of the early 1900's. Beautiful oak floors and stairs with the most interesting mid-stair nook with oval stained glass. Outside: Away from the hustle and bustle of the Beach, but close enough to walk down to. On premise are groupings of Adirondack chairs, a shaded gazebo, a modern heated in-ground pool, and my favorite the wide wrap-around porch with french doors to the dining room. Make sure you pay a visit to their vintage hand-crafted duel rocking chair and center table; very relaxing. Breakfast: Served continental family style with a personal touch; such as, homemade baked goods, and stovetop specialties. On our first morning: Tea, delicious Coffee, muffins, fresh fruit salad, DIY toast, yogurt, and the most delicious scrambled egg platter with sausage and vegetables including sweet potato. "Chef" Nancy said she cooks gluten free for herself and is always willing to accommodate dietary needs. Our second morning, Stuffed French Toast topped with fresh fruit and a side of crispy bacon. This is the most wonderfully B&B! They are taking every precaution recommended by the CDC to prevent the spread of COVID while still allowing their guests to feel a little normalcy. The Nancy and Megan are lovely ladies who take a lot of pride in the care of their home and guests. The home was originally built in 1902 and the charm remains untouched! The location is perfect, short walking distance to the main street and the beach, and Nancy was able to recommend local restaurants worth checking out. The rooms & bathrooms were tidy and well kept, and both pool and bath towels were provided for us during our stay! Finally, she prepared a DELICIOUS breakfast in the morning and even brought it out to us as we sat on the porch. Next time we're in Maine we're staying here again. read more

Our first stay in Maine was at Atlantic Birches Inn and we couldn't have been more pleased. Megan was warm and welcoming in making us feel at home. We stayed on the Old Orchard room which was spacious, clean and lots of windows! Megan went out of her way to place a heater in our room knowing that we were from down south , Texas, and wanting us to be warm and comfy. Our bed was firm but comfortable and the sheets, might sound like a trivial thing; but, the sheets were amazing!!!! Megan did an amazing job with the morning breakfast and coffee, hot tea and cocoa were waiting for us downstairs to start the morning off right. The large array of food included fresh delicious fruit, banana bread, yoghurt with granola, spinach quiche, crispy perfect bacon, and sweet home potatoes. The sweetest woman, hands down best customer service and bed and breakfast I have ever been to. And the breakfast! I'm not normally a breakfast person, or a morning person for that matter but I got a full plate of amazing stuffed French toast with fresh fruit. Cute place and good breakfast. Aug 22 stay. Enter into home. Extremely hot. No air conditioning on the main floor. Lobby area not decorated at all to match home. Card table ? Then up a lot of stairs. Don't come here if you cant do stairs. Our room was on top. Very HOT with an old window AC that says it's 57 in the room when it's over 80. Small ceiling fan which did nothing to the 2nd bed. No phones so walked down stairs to find nobody. Rang doorbell several times. Went and knocked on Private door. No answer. Daughter finally comes out and states they have not one plug in fan for me to borrow. Says I shouldn't have booked that room..??????? So I hardly slept due to heat. Moved the bed to try and get some airco and moving air. They need to vaccum behind and under beds. Yuck! If you are tall don't let THEM book you a room on the top floor. Maybe other rooms are better? Cleaner? Told pool closed at 7. Too early when it's 90 + out and not dark. Plus hot in the main house and our room. Could be a real nice place if they just put in working AC, had a fan or two to borrow and a better decorated entry that's not 90 plus degrees. read more

Absolutely wonderful stay and the entire staff is kind, extremely considerate and quick to respond to your needs. Incredible home cooked breakfasts from them in the morning. Great, clean and super cozy rooms. Additionally, the bed was the comfiest we have had on our trip after staying at a few different places throughout Maine before stopping in town. We had a lovely stay at this immaculate & well managed B & B. Breakfast was to die for & I so appreciated the gluten and dairy free options that were scrumptious! We had French Toast one morning and a wonderful egg dish the next. The rooms are air conditioned. Thank goodness since it was in the 90's. Yep, climate change isn't real tell that to the people in Maine but I digress. The inn has been restored to it's original condition with replica wall paper, etc. I loved the nice touches, great coffee, the guest fridge and lovely linens. This is are second visit here at the Atlantic Birches Inn in Old Orchard Beach . We stayed in the Old Orchard House Room. The room was very comfortable clean and very well kept. Ray and Heidi are very helpful host and always willing to give directions and recommendation for place to dine while in town. The inn is in walking distance of the Amtrak Downeaster which you can take day trips to Freeport, Portland , Wells and Ogunquit, Maine . This is is a must stay while visiting Maine . read more

My mom and I stayed in the Seashore Room in the cottage, and loved it, especially the claw foot bathtub in the bathroom! It was also very quiet--we couldn't hear anything from outside or any other rooms! Nancy, Megan, & Steve were all very friendly and hospitable. The continental breakfast was complimented by some delicious, warm-from-the-oven apple turnovers and mini quiches (Nancy's not kidding when she says she won't let you leave hungry!) =] The Inn is also perfectly located, just a stone's throw from the main drag and pier leading down to the beach. Let me start this review by saying I am picky, very very picky as to where I stay. I have left more than one motel in OOB due to lack of cleanliness. I'm picky with linens, bathrooms, ect. With that being said, I am giving this place an honest 5 stars. The pool was clean, the rooms were clean, (yes they are dated, but what in OOB isn't?) and the air conditioning worked great. The distance to the center and pier are ideal, as well as the beach. You are right outside of the riff raff. The breakfasts daily were excellent. There was quiche, fresh muffins, bagels, fruit, yogurt, and much more. I will definitely be coming back!! read more

I stayed here for two nights on my trip to Maine. Ray and Heidi are very nice proprietors and were very knowledgable what to do and see while I was there (The Rising Tide restaurant is a must!). The room I stayed in the gable house was very cozy and well-decorated. The room was priced reasonably, and the Atlantic Birches is only a block away from the beach and the pier. Breakfast was standard continental fare, but was put our very early in the morning for early risers like me. If I went back to Old Orchard Beach, I would definitely stay there again. read more

I stayed with my 18 year old daughter and her friend and we had a lovely visit! The Inn is under new ownership, though the only way you would pick up on this is in the way they put in the extra effort to make sure our stay was comfortable and fun. The Inn is very clean and welcoming. The Velvet Room was plenty big for three of us, and we were provided with ample extra linens and towels to ensure we all had what we need. They provide a healthy continental breakfast and fresh coffee starting at 7 am, a must for an early riser like myself. The website was very informative and helped me to personalize our trip with outings all within a half hour of the Inn. Old Orchard Beach itself is a wild little beach town that made me think of a seaside carnival, complete with a beachside carousel and ferris wheel, all within a five minute walk of Atlantic Birches Inn. Yet, it was set far enough back from the craziness of the crowds so that it had privacy. The Inn has a nice yard to relax in and a nice, clean pool, which we didn't use, since there was so much to do in the area. I would, and may, return in the future, and would recommend Atlantic Birches Inn to anyone. read more

My daughter and I stayed here for a girls' weekend getaway. The new owners are fantastic! The inn is charming and a great location but what makes this place special are the owners and their attention to detail and making you feel at home. The place itself is spotless. Has a gorgeous heated pool or you can walk to restaurants, the beach or the famous pier. It's far enough away that you can sit on a quiet front porch and people watch. The wine and cheese, salami, crackers they provide at 5pm daily brings guests together on the front porch to visit and become fast friends. The breakfast... OMG... homemade muffins, apple strudel, fresh squeezed oj, fruit salad... there is no going hungry that's for sure! We are definitely planning our next visit! read more

My fiance and I stayed at Atlantic Birches Inn for a weekend in mid-July, and I must say, it is a gem worth exploring. We were able to get a reservation less than 8 weeks ahead of time. For its services, amenities, and location, the price was SO reasonable - $119 per night, much less than any of the surrounding hotel options. The owners are so friendly and helpful; they were always available at any time of the day or night and gave great restaurant and other area recommendations. The inn is not right on the beach but within very close walking distance (5 minutes), so you get the relative quiet with all of the area attractions close by! The rooms are adorable as well. Great location for a couple or family who wants to visit the craziness of OOB, but also wants a quiet weekend retreat. read more

We stayed in the Old Orchard House room for our 10 year anniversary this weekend. The room was good sized, well-decorated and properly cleaned and stocked - just as their website described. Breakfast was good but nothing to write home about. This B&B is perfectly located within walking distance from the beach but away from the crowds. Grounds are nicely kept with several seating areas and beautiful plants. Pricing was fair for the area and peak season. Parking was provided and helpful. Inn keepers gave great restaurant recommendations for local, quality food, atmosphere and price. We are from Phoenix but will be back when we can! read more
