Lots of food vendors and a hodge podge of crafters and yard sale type of items. It was quite interesting to see how the food vendors incorporate Lima beans into their dishes. The festival was quite crowded and there were a lot of ppl there. There was live music and a Lima bean queen, King, and I think princess contest. At every festival, I am most excited about the food, of course. I got a pistachio and Lima bean muffin which was excellent. The aromatic flavors of the pistachio were amazing. The Lima beans inside were a little strange and didn't add much to the muffin besides a weird hard bean texture. I also bought some Kobe sliders with a Lima bean aioli. The aioli didn't add much flavor either. Not a strong Lima bean presence. Lima beans don't have that much flavor to begin with so there wasn't much to expect I guess. I didn't try any other Lima bean specialities bc I wasn't very hungry plus the lines were a little insane. I did notice that the ppl selling Lima bean chili was quite popular. There were also a lot of Lima bean merchandise for sale: t shirts, hoodies, hats & caps, and bags. We didn't explore that much bc we were socializing with some friends at the festival. Oops. Oh well there's always next year! Overall, I had fun and the hubs was impressed with this festival. Most of the ones we've been to so far were pretty dinky and boring. It is…read morelocated on Sooy Lane which is right off of Route 9, aka Shore Road, on a sharp angled street by the Sunryser Restaurant and Deli. It is run out of a home and is available from December 1st - January 1st from 6PM until 11PM. While you're watching, you can tune your radio station to 97.7 FM in order to listen along to the music; there is a 30 minute continuous loop of music integrated with funny snippets from popular TV shows and movies. December 18th and 19th hosts pictures with Santa. The show is free however they accept donations. 100% of all donations go toward local cancer charities. Most people watch the show from inside of their cars so remember to dim your lights so that everyone may enjoy the show. It is also permissible to watch the show from the sidewalk if you so choose. This is one of the best kept secrets in the Atlantic City Area. Come out by yourself or with your loved ones. This really brings out the child in all of us and is good fun for all ages and all levels of ability.

There are a couple of handy small parking lots that are well maintained. It's nice to see little kids try their hand at fishing. I don't think FIsh and Wildlife game wardens are checking for fishing permits, don't worry, LOL. There is a fairly narrow bridge road where if two cars pass each other at the same time, you kind of hold your breath and hope you don't end up like Chappaquiddick. Slow down people, this bridge was built way before SUVs and big trucks were a norm.

There's even the 1984 Chicago cop car with flashing lights! Of course, this scene wouldn't be complete without crazy Cousin Eddy and his RV!!! This is THEE coolest! He looks JUST like him and waves too! It's kind of unreal! The characters are actually made of latex and have been commissioned from an artist in California The family who owns the house, The Harbaughs', seem like the absolute sweetest! Their goal each of the past three years they've decorated is to fill the RV with Toys For Tots! The toys will specifically be given to the children at St. Christopher's Hospital for Children, so if you visit, definitely bring one or a few! They don't need to be wrapped! There is also a donation box! Please give! The first year they collected donations they accumulated more than 4,000 toys! Last year that total topped out at 9,000 toys!! Cops are patrolling the street and directing traffic so it wasn't crazy at all! You can surely drive-by in your vehicle or if you feel safe, there's a cul-de-sac right behind the house with a clearly marked path! Usually, you can get up close and take photos IN the set but this year because of Covid there is a barrier. This infamous house, which gets lit on Thanksgiving and stays that way until New Years Day has gained much buzz! Even Clark, played by Chevy Chase, and Ellen, played by Beverly D'Angelo, sent the family a video shout out! Way cool! After driving down, we were lucky to find free parking for my Audi on 11th Street, located just a block away from the boardwalk. Our walk began heading north, after which we turned around to travel south. During our stroll, we stopped at the Kite Loft to buy a hot air balloon and picked up a large bucket of fries from Thrashers (more details regarding the Kite Loft and Thrashers to come). In total, we tracked 6,000 steps. We had such a nice time that we agreed we will definitely return to experience more of the boardwalk in the future.

Nothing popped out as must see, but hanging out people watching was fun. If we had kids this would be the place to go, amusement park, arcade, lots of food and especially the candy stores. Plenty of benches to sit and people watch. We noticed that not many sit down places to eat but we found a few and chose to eat and Shenanigans. It was fun with a variety food and drinks to choose from, If you come for the beach, the beachfront was large and far away enough from the boardwalk. If we come back out this way, we might come back but not a necessity for me. But others may like it. Parking was a little tough but we did find a municipal park lot around 5th street.

It's also a solid place to set up and fish or to get up to some general mischief. This based on the three types of people I saw in my visit here: photographers, fishermen, and shirtless parkour-ing teens. My best advice is to wear closed toed footwear. This place is littered with broken glass and other assorted garbage. I wore flip flops, and while I managed to avoid injury, my feet were stained with a layer of black dirt. It's kind of a sketchy area of town, but it's worth a visit to up your insta game.

The best view of the city is from here…read more It has come a long way in the past few years as volunteers have installed trashcans and cleaned up a lot of the trash that has been dumped here. Be mindful and whatever you bring, carry it out. I bring my two large dogs back here on walks to the end of the pier for the amazing view that shows the mix of nature taking over old industry against the new industry - the skyline of Philadelphia. Usually, you will see other urban explorers, fishermen, photographers, and artists. But be cautious, last time I was here kids were playing with dynamite and people have been mugged here. Just be smart and pay attention.
