I enjoy how the beaches are clean..rarely crowded and most of the folks are friendly! The beach tags are needed during your beach activity and you should investigate costs if you plan to frequent the beach often! I enjoy the northern end of the beach the most when I visit. Usually I visit for the peacefulness..no beach necessary..but it is the gem of the town!

There's even the 1984 Chicago cop car with flashing lights! Of course, this scene wouldn't be complete without crazy Cousin Eddy and his RV!!! This is THEE coolest! He looks JUST like him and waves too! It's kind of unreal! The characters are actually made of latex and have been commissioned from an artist in California The family who owns the house, The Harbaughs', seem like the absolute sweetest! Their goal each of the past three years they've decorated is to fill the RV with Toys For Tots! The toys will specifically be given to the children at St. Christopher's Hospital for Children, so if you visit, definitely bring one or a few! They don't need to be wrapped! There is also a donation box! Please give! The first year they collected donations they accumulated more than 4,000 toys! Last year that total topped out at 9,000 toys!! Cops are patrolling the street and directing traffic so it wasn't crazy at all! You can surely drive-by in your vehicle or if you feel safe, there's a cul-de-sac right behind the house with a clearly marked path! Usually, you can get up close and take photos IN the set but this year because of Covid there is a barrier. This infamous house, which gets lit on Thanksgiving and stays that way until New Years Day has gained much buzz! Even Clark, played by Chevy Chase, and Ellen, played by Beverly D'Angelo, sent the family a video shout out! Way cool! By the way, you're totally going to want to go home and rewatch this classic again! .

The festival was quite crowded and there were a lot of ppl there. There was live music and a Lima bean queen, King, and I think princess contest. At every festival, I am most excited about the food, of course. I got a pistachio and Lima bean muffin which was excellent. The aromatic flavors of the pistachio were amazing. The Lima beans inside were a little strange and didn't add much to the muffin besides a weird hard bean texture. I also bought some Kobe sliders with a Lima bean aioli. The aioli didn't add much flavor either. Not a strong Lima bean presence. Lima beans don't have that much flavor to begin with so there wasn't much to expect I guess. I didn't try any other Lima bean specialities bc I wasn't very hungry plus the lines were a little insane. I did notice that the ppl selling Lima bean chili was quite popular. There were also a lot of Lima bean merchandise for sale: t shirts, hoodies, hats & caps, and bags. We didn't explore that much bc we were socializing with some friends at the festival. Oops. This based on the three types of people I saw in my visit here: photographers, fishermen, and shirtless parkour-ing teens. My best advice is to wear closed toed footwear. This place is littered with broken glass and other assorted garbage. I wore flip flops, and while I managed to avoid injury, my feet were stained with a layer of black dirt. It's kind of a sketchy area of town, but it's worth a visit to up your insta game.

Be mindful and whatever you bring, carry it out. I bring my two large dogs back here on walks to the end of the pier for the amazing view that shows the mix of nature taking over old industry against the new industry - the skyline of Philadelphia. Usually, you will see other urban explorers, fishermen, photographers, and artists. But be cautious, last time I was here kids were playing with dynamite and people have been mugged here. Just be smart and pay attention.
