Absolutely fantastic business, superb staff...seriously just amazing! I wholeheartedly believe in businesses like this that teach drivers the fundamentals of driving and can teach you even when you don't own a car though it might be a bit more expensive not owning a car since you'll need more lessons but I used a driving school in NYC 35+ years ago and have since believed this to be an essential business for anyone that truly wants to ace their driving course. I purchased a lessons package for my daughter to make sure that her driving skills were polished and that I didn't totally teach her incorrectly. She certainly picked up a lot of pointers that I otherwise would not have realized to point out which is another reason I think this business is essential for anyone looking to ace their road test. These driving professionals know exactly what to look for on the road exams and can give you very useful tips to help you avoid failure. Scheduling was a breeze, ALL the staff I dealt with were super nice and just plain awesome! Highly recommend getting ANY CDL here... When you're paying out of pocket you want a school that teaches you to pass your road test the first time. In comparison to other schools I've seen during test day Atlantic Coast keeps their trucks very clean and in much better shape than other schools and appear to have a much higher passing rate then other schools. Having to retake your road test can cost a student $500+ and I wasn't chancing it. Many thanks to Richard and Mauro who guide and explain everything in great detail making it effortless to complete a proper pre-trip, parallel park your tractor trailer (which I was dreading) and avoiding those Newburgh potholes (Richard joke) overall it was a very comfortable experience. Passed my road test Aug 21st and started work Aug 27th. Plenty of work out there READ and re-read the CDL book start calling out EVERY caution sign when you drive and you'll pass with flying colors.. Ask for rich best trainer I've ever had and I've taken lessons for my CDL class B before. I now have my passengers and school bus endorsement due to the lessons I took at Atlantic Coast. The other school I took my class B on was at Dutchess school of driving last year and the instructors there weren't as friendly. They were very vague spoken; didn't really care about the customer; seemed they just wanted to get paid and go home. This guy does it out of his heart and truly wants you to succeed and pass. He was very to the point; but understood when I needed help on something. He spent more time on what I needed help with such as parallel parking. Also, he made it more enjoyable and made the entire process not feel so stressful which we all need with testing such as this. 5 star all around. I will be putting this review on google as well to make it well known he was a great instructor. 5 star rating all around to Atlantic Coast Driver Training!!! read more

I was nervous to start but I couldn't be more thankful to Atlantic Coast. I had some experience driving non cdl trucks before, but I have never driven stick shift before I started. It took some time but I eventually got the hang of it thanks to Rich and Rob. They're very nice guys and it was a pleasure to learn from them. Great people. Driver teacher is very invested in your time driving with her. She's patient and nice. 5 hour course was very informative. Ginny is the certificate teacher and she is very sweet. She covers everything, you learn about road signs and she doesn't focus only on one part of the driving education. Friendly environment for your kids. You have to keep in mind to practice driving not only at lesson time, but also outside too. Nobody's perfect, it takes time to get used to the car. I suggest once you get the hang of driving to schedule yourself for driving lessons, otherwise 8-10 lessons won't help. More practice should make it easier on you. They have great package plans. My son had his 5 hour training class here, as well as a series of one-on-one driving lessons, and I highly recommend them! The instructor began each driving lesson from our house, so not only was it convenient, but he became easily familiar with driving our neighborhood. It isn't often that people who are satisfied with a service go on a site like this and sing the praises of the people responsible for helping them out. At least it seems as though it doesn't happen as often as the ones that feel they haven't been. I for one am, and was, extremely satisfied with the instruction from the instructor of this driving school. With having a hectic work schedule, Lisa and Rich went beyond the norm to fit me in when it was good for me to do so. On the occasions I had to reschedule they went even further to fit me in and work around their own schedules to get my training in before my CDL-A driver's test, which I ended up passing quite easily. To make a long story short, the instructors will teach you what it is you need to know (and DO) to pass the driver's test; and in most cases, quite a bit more than is required. I have nothing but good things to say about this training school (especially Lisa & Rich); and not to knock someone else's opinion, but my experience was quite the opposite of Varin's. Granted it helps to already know how to drive a manual transmission vehicle (I did), but the instructor was both encouraging and thorough with doing things the proper way to be able to pass the test. Some people make take that thoroughness the wrong way, but in hindsight it is for your own good. If anyone is contemplating a CDL license, I would readily recommend this school to them-- and their prices are better than anyone around. read more

I just passed my Class B CDL road test ! ( P and S endorsements) Thanks to the dedicated instruction of Richard and Morrow (hopefully I spelled it right) from Atlantic Coast Driving school. I really enjoyed the instruction given by Morrow, he explained everything fully and in a simplified manner. He easily broke the pre- trip inspection and the necessary on the road driving procedures. Morrow walk me thru the pre trip, Air Brake system test, School child pick, Railroad Crossing procedure, Backing, Parallel parking, etc. He did not missed a beat!! I felt very confident when I took the road test since I was fully prepared. I can't thank Morrow enough for his professionalism and dedication he has for his job and students. Quick advice, do yourself a favor, fully read the CDL manual sections pertaining to the license you want. If you don't, you may not pass the written portion or get all the endorsements needed (I saw a bunch of guys failed at the DMV). I passed all tests on the first try because I read all sections needed three times (3x) each, it really doesn't take that long. Don't expect any school to spoon feed you the manual. I would highly recommend Atlantic Coast Driving school to anyone. Instructors are competent, appointments are kept on time, and the course length was more than appropriate to pass the test ( I didn't feel like i was oversold, like other schools). I must admit that I was a little apprehensive due to a prior review, but quickly realized that was an unfair review, that's why I wrote this one.
