I can see all of my stored items on my app and now that I know more about their process, I feel confident about where and how my belongings are being stored while we build our house. They don't pack the furniture very well, so they damaged most of my furniture's and broke my bone China's. 5. They didn't cover the rugs at all, so they get so dirty. 6. They used a tape on all my stuff for packing, hard to clean them from the surface of furniture. 7. They used my toilet rugs to pack my gym stuff! UNBELEIVABLE!!! 8. Customer Beware! We rented two units at this facility and what a mistake that was . One of the…read moreunits was climate controlled for the items that we did not want exposed to heat and humidity and the other was not. Upon returning to remove our items we noticed the climate controlled unit was noticeably warm . Upon inquiry, we learned that they kept the climate controlled units at 80 degrees which is extremely hot especially in the Jacksonville sweltering heat. We also found black mold spots all over our white leather chairs that had been stored in the climate controlled unit. The chairs also showed signs of wrinkling from being moist or damp. Upon entering the 2nd unit that was was not climate controlled, we found rodent droppings , and evidence of water stains on our plastic storage bins . Upon inspection of our other furniture, we found that our headboard had water damage due to a water leak in the unit and some of our items had been chewed on by rodents. We were instructed to file a claim, as we did pay extra for the insurance that they recommended. After initiating the claim, we were advised by the insurance company that they don't cover damage due to water leaks/flooding or mold or mildew . Neither do they address rodents. So , neither claim was covered. We reached out to Secure Self Storage to give them an opportunity to make the situation whole. Hoping that after renting two units there for eight months, they would take some responsibility. They advised that they are not liable for damage that occurs at THEIR facility. Well who exactly is liable if the insurance that they recommended isn't and neither are they. If you are looking for a place to store your belongings, this is definitely not the place unless you like finding rat droppings on your belongings , like having your furniture chewed up by rats , or enjoy giving your money to a company that clearly doesn't care about their customers! Had a very heavy armoire that they were able to move using a dolly. Very professional and careful not to do any damage while moving the furniture. They have a large truck that fit all the pieces I needed moved. Came on time and finished the job quickly. I would definitely call them again for any of the services they offer.
