2 1/2 stars. I would…read morehave to say that Sobey's is the closest thing to Whole Foods market or Safeway on this side of the world .... Sorta ...as in both their logos are green. Sobey's corp actually just bought out Safeway ( gasp). Anyway. They have a decent health food section which I was happy to find , a decent veggie section, mediocre deli section, sad bread area. However they have a nice little bakery area with eclairs , cupcakes etc. But whenever I go there and am being helped by very friendly bakery staff , there is always some pumpkinhead who thinks that they needed to be waited on first just because they may have placed a cake order ahead of time. What is up with that? This one woman actually went behind the counter to get another employee to help her since the male employee was busy getting my order. The male employee: " I will help you in a second ma'am as soon as I am done with these folks" Woman: " I have an order to pick up!" Then she looked at me like Cleopatra, perfectly justified for trying to bump in line in front of me. Her shrill tone brought out another employee to get the Queen's order. The bakery staff handled that potentially irate woman like a boss. Great customer service and team work. They do carry more organic veggies ( which sadly is still not enough) then say Atlantic Superstore BUT they are not in one section together. I try to eat mostly organic veggies but apparently this island is stuck in the dark ages still( look up GMOs , Franken Food etc) So I literally have to hunt around the veggie section since they dont have a logical way of placing their organic produce . Say for instance you can put the regular carrots here , then right by it , put the Organic carrots. Or make a little section with ALL your organic offerings IN ONE PLACE. Because that would make sense and not waste my time. My last nit picky thing is they have the slowest cashiers on the planet but maybe I do need to slow down and not be so uptight since I am on the island to relax and slow down.

It's cute!maybe a few spots to sit outside but really it's a take and go situation. Love that you can see their production kitchen. The service was friendly. When I heard my total $ for the order I was like what!! But then when I picked one up and realized the gravity of the situation and took a bite, I totally understood the prices. Absolutely worth a pop in.

Good place to go when you need to pick up a little of everything. This place is located outside the Summerside mall.

When I got around to visiting this one in Summerside, I was pleased to find a variety of dry ( and some wet) grocery goods. Do not be put off by the rows of candy in barrels, they do have some healthy food in here. Egg replacer, quinoa , organic spelt flour , spouted options , nuts, pumpkin seeds , ready made granola etc. A true gem for people who like to bake , cook and be healthy.
