They don't monitor their expiring food. They choose to still sell it. This has happened multiple times to me and people I know. Their workers will argue with customers and complaints about this store are never taken seriously. The amount of gates and hurdles they have upon entering the store to deter theft because of their Starbucks location they have in the front is absolutely absurd to try and navigate with a cart of any size. There are no proper bathrooms for the public to use as well as the manager being a bully to the local panhandlers/homeless who are sometimes outside the store. Today my wife and I purchased one bag of flour. Wanted to pay cash so went to customer service where you must have 10 items or less. We had one. There were two girls behind the counter doing nothing. We were told we had to go to a checkout because the checkouts weren't busy. Went to the checkout line and only two were open each serving someone and five people with full carts in line. Went back to customer service and spoke to an on duty supervisor who was now willing to check us out. My wife was told customers are told to go to checkout because if they are not kept busy they will have their hours cut. We could have gone to self checkout, how would this affect their hours. There are serious problems with the way the Truro SuperStore is managed and that is why my store of choice is Sobeys. read more

I've come here In the evenings on multiple occasions and had no issue as the place is not busy at all whatsoever. On a Saturday I'm sure it's a zoo here however! The store is gargantuan. Selection is pretty amazing out of this world. For food, pharmacy items, Joe Fresh clothing, some outdoor store it really is big! I give the Loblaw's corporation some credit as they really have tried to keep up with the times with Walmart Sobeys and Metro in the fierce grocery battle. For Walmart, their grocery offering is so homogeneous and bland I pretty much refuse to buy much in the way of groceries there. Loblaw's on the other hand offers clever offerings of Presidents choice brand goods and although it's no Trader Joe's it's not bad. Pricing is decent also. Their category analysts really understand the price threshold they need to be in. Self serve cash outs are a great invention also. Except when you get the newbie who has no clue how to use them. Fantastic they have a NS liquor store attached. Almost as good as having an aisle for beer or wine! :) read more

Bought some fresh chicken wings here last week and the drumsticks were okay but the wings were green. When I opened the package it stank pretty bad so I called the store and I talked to a manager. He said just bring the sticker with the price and date on it and he would refund no questions asked. Great customer service!! read more
