If you miss your moms home cooking, go to the Double C. The food is delicious and tastes very home made. Did I mention the portion size yet? Well, I know I didn't. I just needed a segue. I can't count how many times I said I was going to get dessert and never followed through. I'm not a small eater, but I just never had the room. We have gone just for dessert because I'm a pig that way. The first dessert run was for chocolate cake that I was craving. I was expecting the waitress to bring out a piece of chocolate cake, not a huge slab of a portion. To be honest, I don't remember what my girlfriend ordered because I was in cake heaven. And I'm a guy so naturally I wasn't paying attention. She did tell me in the car that it was one of the best *insert item here* that she has had in a very long time. I followed by telling her, with chocolate stained teeth, that the cake was amazing and very light and fluffy. Have we gone back just for dessert? You know we have. Food is basic diner food, nothing special. Long waits, kind of pricey for the same meals you probably cook at home. Not a fan of the service either. Servers dont come back to check on you, and they always seem annoyed when you need to ask for simple things like butter for your potatoes, a straw for your child's drink, napkins etc.... Had a waitress tell me she wasnt bringing my kids their drinks until they dinner arrived, um I'm a capable parent and can make that decision on my own thanks. read more

Great place for breakfast just off the highway. Service was exceptional - welcoming and full of humour & energy to get your day started. This place is awesome! The staff are the sweetest and very friendly.... I landed here late and parked for the night with the trucks. The truckers were quite nice about keeping the noise down, honestly never woke up and yet the truck I was parked next to was different from the first. That trucker left very quietly. They have nice facilities, clean and relatively modern for nowhere Nova Scotia. Showers were free and HUGE... towel provided at no cost.... My trip was now refreshed with a hot shower! The food was homey and fresh. The cook was great, about getting it just right. And they had marmalade for my English muffin... YA YA YA Great home cooked food... can't say a bad thing about it. Plenty of parking Staff and customers are very friendly... don't be surprised if you end up exchanging email addresses. This place needs more then 5 stars... read more

First time here and it was the typical diner experience. The food was average and servers were pleasant. Would recommend.

Wasn't a huge fan, went for breakfast, it was typical breakfast fare, decent prices, but quality was poor. Service was poor as well, when we said their pancakes where very tasteless our party was dismissed. Perhaps since we where not the obvious local clientele. I'll hit up a Big Stop next time. read more

Well me and my family went there sat night I got the 3 pic chicken dinner it was good and my dad got the same he said it was good to but my mom got pan fried haddock it was so over cook and dry burnt I am a chef bye trade I would not serve that to my dog service was good read more
