One of, if not the best bakery in Truro. The service is always great, staff is always smiling and pleasant.

The interior is a cute space - the nooks and crannies of a converted old home with lots of British memorabilia and kitsch. There was a decent-sized crowd for mid-afternoon, mid-week, but we were seen to quickly and our food came out in good time as well. My wife is a big fan of sausage rolls, so when we saw that GBC has one, it was an easy choice for her. It was impressively meaty, and had a light and flaky wrap. My steak and Guinness meat pie came out scorching hot and I endured some mild mouth burns in my hunger, but it was worth it. The rich and hearty sauce, tender chunks of beef and a crisp crust made for a great lunch. We also shared a decent, by-the-numbers Greek salad to get some veg content. There's plenty of parking in behind the cafe, so don't let its location worry you, drivers. Great British Cafe is definitely worth a visit for the hot food or their selection of British pantry goods if you're in the area.

Cost: super affordable for homemade food. Cleanliness: the food looks clean. No nasty black bits from a dirty grill in your eggs or anywhere else on your plate. While there's nothing really fancy here, it's a much better option than a frozen food chain drive thru. Food comes out quick, it's simple, lots of vegetarian options and really reasonably priced. The place is small so it fills up fast. No street parking. Use their driveway to access parking in the back. There is also a back entrance off the back deck. Door is clearly marked 'entrance'. The staff was friendly and while it's an old converted house, it does look like they try to keep it maintained. The only one complaint would be the washroom. It's obvious one of the staff use it to smoke in because it smells of cigarillos even with the door open and the fan running.

The cone was a little stale and the scoop was a standard scoop, albeit a bit on the smaller side. Not sure if there is a washroom available and didn't see store hours, but there is an ATM if you need cash. There's also ample parking in their lot. A good place to stop off of 104, especially since we were heading to Halifax from CB.

This spot has lots of parking, two walk-up serving windows, and ample outdoor picnic tables. A large digital screen displays the menu - you'll come for a scoop of hard Scotsburn ice cream, but be enticed by a plentiful list of additional options. including: ice cream sundaes, milkshakes, soft serve and a few savoury (hot dog, anyone?) items as well. The scoopers are very prescriptive and measured; great consistency. At $3 for a small (two scoops, both conservative in size) there are better value scoops elsewhere, but I appreciate the consistency and breadth of flavour choice that Corina offers. Always a reliable ice cream option!
