I came to my first pole class in October 2022 and have been hooked ever since. I recently loss a significant amount of weight and wanted a way to get fit, have fun and feel comfortable in my body. My first class was with Zhara. She was great, full of energy and helpful. After one class, I went to a couple more intro classes eventually I purchased the 10 pack package (more bang for your buck) and subsequently moved to an annual membership after about 3 months of consistent classes. Each class and instructor I have taken has been wonderful. The entire staff is knowledgeable, encouraging and willing to offer feedback and assistance. I have taken multiple classes with the convenience of the annual pass. (Ie intro, low flow, twerk, poleography, pole workout, inversion etc). I have nothing but positive feedback about the instructors. Zhara's energy and abilities are awesome! Kelli's intro to pole and inversion class is wonderful. I always feel challenged but encourage that I will continue to progress. Kate's breakdown of the technical details with intro to inversion sessions are amazing. It feels like having a private session. Vickya's exercises in intro to pole particularly looking in the mirror and watching myself has helped me boost my self esteem. Tink's boot camp class has helped me get in better shape. C Michelle's energy and class on twerking has opened my eyes to the art form. Kat's kindness and beautiful choreography in low flow has helped me gain confidence in my own sensuality and body. For someone who never been on a pole 5 months ago and was shy to now being able to climb and starting to learn inversion, this studio has been amazing. I can't believe it's taken me this long to take classes at Atomic Allure! Mostly because I didn't realize the studio is so close to the BART station. It was easy to sign up through the Mindbody app. My friend (this was her regular gym) wanted to take tricks and choreo on a Saturday I was actually free. The building was easy to find and navigate. You have to sign in through the main office before heading to the main space. All apparatuses are in the same area, i.e. pole and silks. I came in as the previous class finished up. Plenty of cubbies to put your belongings and even a restroom to change in. The studio itself isn't the cleanest compared to others I've been to, even the yoga mats in the back to borrow. I mean it's still a gym, to be fair. Class was phenomenal. Content was sufficiently challenging and I felt safe trying various different moves. Got some good videos. I'd love to come back again! read more

Atomic Allure is my one and only pole studio (at least for now). I started dancing here in 2018 after eyeing it for several years. Since then, I've learned to climb, do a superwoman, jade, and a bunch of other tricks, invert, shoulder dismount, do a bunch of low-flow and choreo stuff (thank you Kat!) and have gained a lot of confidence in my movement. If you're considering taking a class here, I highly recommend beginning by taking Intro to Pole with Carlyn or Low Flow with Kat, though honestly all of the teachers are amazing and give a lot of themselves to support us as students. Pro tips: bring water, wear knee pads, and don't forget to wash off all lotion or oil before you go to the studio! Also, don't compare yourself to anyone! Just feel yourself and whatever turns you on. Older building on an older street. Fortunately they include decent signage so you can make your way thru without too much difficulty. Enter and up the stairs to the second floor. Hook a sharp right turn at the top of the stairs to to "front office" to checkin. From there you can follow the music and voices of the instructor for the class in session / the receptionist could escort you if it's your first time. At my friend's strong suggestion, I took Intro to Pole with Carlyn. This was my second class ever (I took my very first demo session at Sedusa in San Jose). Carlyn js an MF BEAST!!!!! Like, hella goals and so sassy but with a great disposition and teaching style. This is a super welcoming environment where various experience and skill levels are present and I highly recommend this dance studio / instructor! Minus 1 star for the location/building which definitely needs renovations. Tan duct tape on the floors and the residents of the neighboring apartment were definitely peeping toms via the sheer curtained window. Great entertainment for them but I definitely regretted selecting the pole in the front (wanting to see/hear Carlyn best) because I had an audience I wished would disappear. I wanted to love this place because it's so conveniently located. Parking on the weekend can be hectic, but if you get there early enough you should be able to drive around and find a spot. The instructor, Victoria is amazing. So nice, fun, and genuinely interested in the well being of the students. If this was just a review of her, she would get five stars. The pole studio itself is badly in need of some renovations. Almost all of the poles looked extremely scuffed, making grip a bit harder. In a studio with no AC and only a couple fans, the poles should be in better condition for grip purposes. The floors definitely need to be replaced. The laminate is coming up in places, missing chunks in others, and is held together in places with some kind of tape. The tape, however, is soft and fraying so by the time the one hour class was over, I had tape all over the bottom of my shoes. Not a fault of the studio (but kind of the fault of the studio), the class was extremely packed to point poles had to be shared. I don't mind sharing a pole, but it seems like some of the women there were not used to it so when I asked if I could share they told me no. Like really? It's not that serious, but ok, I'll ask around to find someone who doesn't mind sharing. An easy way to prevent that would be to only allow people who sign up for class to take it. The space is large and they have many poles in there, so capping class size based on single pole availability is probably a good idea. read more

Yass! Yaaasss! Yaaaaassssss!!!!! If you're looking for a community of talented, fine, passionate, confident & ambitious women.. you found the right place. I'm reading all these negative 1st timmer comments like, you need to calm down and go to the studio. All the instructors & owner are busy doing new exciting innovated ENTREPRENEUR things, that they don't have time to answer your email in a day! I signed up for the 12week workshop not knowing what I was getting my self into. I had no pole experience & sometimes thought to myself "wth are you doing?!" But I'm glad I completed it and was able to perform at Club21. Everyone was helpful& My confidence level is higher than it ever was before. I walk down the street, venue, meetings & I'm just more confident in myself & skin. (Friends, fam & colleagues can tell too!) I never thought a dance studio, yet workshop alone could make me feel so much more badass, but this one does! I tried other studios near by which are predominantly white, Asian, & "fit." I don't identify as any of those & didn't feel comfortable at all, but Atomic Allure welcomes everyone. All levels, body types, people of color, you name it. My friend mentioned this studio to me months ago, but it's only recently (with one of their promotions) that I finally decided to go via their unlimited month - and I'm so glad I did. Atomic Allure is a short walk away from 12th St BART station, which is good for people like me who commute from SF. Per their website, the studio is just through the double doors and up the stairs to the second floor. Regardless whether your class is in Studio A or B, you just need to stop by the reception desk (to the right and back of the stairs) to check-in first. To quote another reviewer, this studio has down to earth vibes that I think make it more approachable for someone coming here for the first time. Some of the students I saw were chatting and seemed to know each other quite well, but it didn't feel clique-y and exclusive (read: intimidating) like some other studios I've been to. One thing to note is that Studio B is huge! Definitely the largest pole studio (and one of the most affordable) I've seen so far in bay area. I didn't count exactly, but I think there were more than 10 poles available to use and I haven't had to share with anyone so far. The condition of the poles varies. They can be static or spinning (easy enough to adjust as needed), some of them seemed older and more scratched up, etc. I believe they are tension x-poles, so they are not the typical studio ones that are drilled into the ceiling and floor. I wandered in during open pole play time on my first visit there, so I saw a few of the students doing some complicated tricks and exercises. Don't be discouraged though - everyone starts at the beginning at some point. That being said, this was not my first pole experience as I've attended classes at other studios in bay area. If I was a complete beginner, I think I might have found it tricky to learn some things for the first time. The instructors are friendly and approachable, but since the class (especially the beginner/intro class) can get quite large, it might be difficult for them to give everyone one-on-one attention and help. As a beginner-but-not-total-beginner, this place was great. Since starting to come here, I've gone to these classes: - Booty Popping Basics, BPB (this was so much fun if you don't take yourself too seriously) - Intro to Pole/Beginner class (it's always nice to review and re-learn some things) - Pole play (open pole/studio time to practice what you've learned, or just come to stretch and condition) - Pole werkout (this class definitely kicked my ass! My abs were sore for days after) - Vertical vixen (learned different types of climbs, and you only have to do what you're comfortable with) - Inversion virgin (it was a small class when I went, which was perfect for going upside down) I love that there are so many classes here that are suited to all-levels, and there are different things to focus on: dance, pole, conditioning, flexibility, etc. read more

*amazing time * So just returned from Vegas where I O'd on everything related to stripperisk lol but really I came back really wanting to invest in a different type of work out given my personal training contract at a local gym expired. Much rather burn some calories, learn husband pleasing skills (lol), and dance and have fun all at once . A sweet friend recommend this place and was kind enough to take the beginners class (note: despite her humility she's definitely at the accelerated level) Took the intro to pole dancing class with Bobbi at 6:30-7:30. Had a blast ! My summary: - wow! Came away learning like 5 spin moves, 4 lift moves, learned how to walk, and crawl up the pole... in 1 hour ANd you'll have free time to do whatever - I actually sweated and definitely felt it in my arms - she spent time (~10min or so) on a pretty decent Warm up - They sell clothing if you don't have the right fit Diversity of poses - nice Space. Almost have wall to wall mirrors (unfortunately my pole was towards the corner so I couldn't see myself). - Not claustrophobic. About 15+ poles so you def won't need to share like other places ! - instructor was so kind and super agile. Atomic Allure was the first place ever that I tried a pole dancing class! Sure, I tried to attempt to take a whirl on a pole at some clubs that I've been to the past, but never had someone actually show me how to do pole dance for real for reals. This place was located in like Chinatown area of Oakland. Parking is metered or there are garages around, but so far I've found parking spot (metered) super nearby the studio. Lucky me. :D How I found out about this place was from a LivingSocial I had purchased earlier this year. So far I've tried out these classes: Pole Fit - it's definitely a workout. I remember my shoulder area & legs were super sore the next day because of this class. Pole Tease - sexxxy! loved it! They have stilettos where you can borrow to wear during this class. Strip Tease - again another sexxxy class just like Pole Tease, but you learn a stripping part during the routine. BPM - lots of booty poppin & very fun class as well! I see that they're having another LivingSocial deal up again & I just might purchase it! The instructors are very easy going & they make the class fun and enjoyable. Plus, I love their music for the classes; it's super sexy music! The building where AA is located in is kinda blehh/run down. Sometimes, during the classes, you can hear Chinese karaoke through the walls which kinda cancels out the sexiness of the class. But whatevers.. the classes are still great nonetheless. Atomic Allure is definitely my favorite pole dancing studio so far of all the ones I tried. It's the quality of the lessons that are taught that makes them my favorite! :) read more

I'm a maid of honor and, for my friend's bachelorette party, she wanted to do a pole dancing class. For a private group party, the rate is $300 for the hour. I called the studio and they were diligent about charging my card the $50 deposit and fairly responsive (within 2-3 business days) in answering questions I had via email up to the date of the party. This place is a little hard to find (enter in a shoddy looking office building lobby and go up the stairs), but they have a cute little space. The instructor met us in their check-in office. We signed waivers and left our bags in the locked office, then headed into the studio. The studio had about ten poles and some other equipment for the other kinds of courses they offer. It had some couches and a few supplies. We were asked to wipe our poles down with rubbing alcohol and rags (all of which were wet - likely unwashed since the last pole sanitation effort). In some ways, the studio was a little worse for the wear; some of the floorboards were taped down with duct tape. The class itself was challenging physically (uses lots of upper body and core muscles). Our instructor was very nice and made it look so easy. She was able to read the room and tailor the lesson to our beginner status. Friction was our biggest enemy here. I found it hard to do some moves in which my skin was directly touching the pole. My friend said it was easier to do in socks, as her feet were having too much friction with the floor. Crawling on the floor also hurt many of our knees, and a lot of the girls had bruises on their knees and shins the next day. It's probably one of those things you just need to get used to. I personally wouldn't do it again, but this was a fun beginner course and a great way to celebrate my friend's bachelorette! read more

Atomic Allure is my happy place! Found a deal off of Groupon back in August 2017 and immediately got hooked. Once I used up all of my passes from the Groupon deal, another deal came up through Atomic Allure so I decided to invest in myself and bought an Annual Pass. To give you an idea of my commitment to Atomic Allure - I commute from Daly City and pay that bridge toll to go back 2-3 times a week. My first class was Video Vixen, a chair dance workout then I got into the Pole classes and Twerk classes! They all kick ass and I always leave each class happy and looking forward to the next! I've also started to drag my friends over to the classes and they can't turn back! Though I haven't taken a class with all the instructors, everyone who I've taken are awesome, extremely patient and welcoming! Atomic welcomes all levels of skill and also offers different ways for you to challenge yourself - you can perform as part of a dance team, take individual classes, have parties, and even do short-term performance workshops. Atomic also offers a wide range of classes like aerial yoga, lyra, silks, pole, twerk, chair dance, etc., which is why I think they're the best studio in the Bay. So much love for Atomic!!! When a pole studio opened up next to the tattoo shop I work at in December, I decided maybe 2019 was the year I start doing things I've always been interested in. I took a few classes at this new pole studio and found myself...not feeling myself. I was surrounded by small, naturally athletic, "basic" (no offense ladies) white girls. Here I was, super tattooed, feeling fat as hell. My class would occasionally have ONE woman of color and I'm sure she might have felt just as out of place as I did. Enter Atomic Allure. Their website has soo many classes and showcased many body types that I could more easily align with. I blindly signed up for a 12 week intensive program with Donna Jane and fell in love. Donna is an incredibly dedicated, tough ass bish and I knew I was in the right hands. My class was diverse as hell with all sorts of body types, and included a few non-binary dancers as well! She frequently praised the diversity of bodies and appreciated tattoos. I've grown more in her classes than I would ever have in the other studio. Atomic Allure very much reflects the true heart and community of Oakland and I'm so so so happy to have found it. read more

LOVE LOVE LOVE this studio. If you are on the fence about trying out pole dancing, come on over to the fun side! Atomic Allure offers many different forms of pole and dance work. There are fitness focused classes, Tricks training, Choreography, twerking, Chair dances, etc. So many ways to find your groove. Best of all the instructors are incredibly supportive and as diverse as the people attending classes. I especially appreciate that as a thicker lady. Not once has my size ever been an issue or even a hindrance to learning new ways to move. I love how inclusive this studio is, so if you are her, him, they, gender queer, an alien, or whoever your heart desires, you will feel welcome here. Again all types and sizes are represented on the staff, which is a great testament to the Studio Director's vision. There is room to be a beginner all the way through level 5 Competitor and beyond at this studio. Do yourself a favor and sign up for a class or 10. You will not be disappointed. You will gain the strength through the classes, so if you are waiting to "be strong enough" the instructors will support you on that journey. I've tried this place several times because it is insanely close to my apartment, and I want it so badly to be a good fit for me, but each time I leave disappointed. I just feel that it's not very beginner friendly at all. For classes on the weekend, they are so full that you need to share poles, which is less than ideal. For the Intro to Pole classes, many more advanced students attend (due to their monthly class I suppose) and I feel that the instructor usually gives them tips for more advanced moves. Half the class is spent on more advanced training when beginners like me are struggling to get the basics right. read more

I wanted to update my review since it looks like Atomic Allure is offering new Living Social / Groupon deals. I have been going to the studio once a week (if not more) for 6 months. I still leave classes sore and with bruises but I can definitely say that I am so much stronger than I was when I first started. I can complete most basic spins with ease and can now invert (yes, that does mean upside down on a pole) without holding onto the pole with my arms. I have taken Intro to Pole, Pole Fit, Spin City, BPB, Pole Tease and Inversion Virgin. Since I already covered Intro to Pole and Pole Fit in my previous review, I will focus on the other listed classes here. Spin City involves learning new tricks on a freely spinning pole. With the pole unlocked, you'll be able to spin faster and longer and be able to try new maneuvers that otherwise would not be possible on a static pole. BPB - aka Booty Popping Basics is exactly like what it sounds like. You will learn a choreographed dance that focuses on giggling your butt as much as possible. I have no sense of rhythm and my booty giggling is mediocre at best, but the class is fun and due to the fast pace, very cardio-like. You spend the entire class learning the routine in 3-6 step increments until the very end, where you will perform the entire routine in the dark and with strobe lights. That's right. you don't have to worry about someone staring at you every time you forget a step or shake you butt cheeks wrong! As an aside, this routine sometimes involve dropping to your knees, so wear longer pants or bring legwarmers. Pole Tease is very similar to BPB in that you learn parts of the choreographed dance at a time and perform the entire sequence at the end, in the dark and with strobe lights. Bring high heels as some of the steps are easier with heels on. Inversion Virgin teaches you the steps to inverting for the first time. If you're brave enough to try to invert all the way, the instructors here will spot you so that you don't have to worry about falling. I encourage anyone who is even entertaining the thought of trying out pole class to DO IT, and go to Atomic Allure. There are so many wonderful things about this dance studio. Here are just a few: - It really is about you feeling good about you. Doesn't matter how you look in booty shorts or how good you are. Seriously, no one cares. It's all about starting where you're at, challenging yourself, and improving from there. - Classes are pretty diverse when it comes to age, ethnicity, body type, skill level, and frequency of attendance. So as long as you're interested in learning, there's a place for you. Plus there are all sorts of classes to choose from. - The instructors are all badasses, and at the same time super friendly and make you feel welcome. They may seem intimidating because they're so talented, but they're really nice, I promise (for what the promise of a stranger is worth). People go here because it makes them happy. Many fellow students have, in different words, talked about how much they look forward to class, or how they would go every day if they had time, or how much they miss it if they can't go for a while. As someone who is just starting out in pole, it's easy to be intimidated when you walk into an "all levels" or beginner's class, where everyone is effortlessly tossing themselves into the air and climbing poles. Or where teachers ignore complete newbies in favor of teaching their more advanced students. (Ahem, Phoenix Aerial Arts and Pole) ATMOSPHERE: What I love about Atomic Allure is that it is such a welcoming and awesome studio for anyone who is interested in pole. I've taken classes with almost all of the teachers there, and have enjoyed every one. Each teacher brings their own flavor to the class, but if there's one thing they share in common, it's that they are fun, kind, and super encouraging and eager to help you progress and learn. If you've ever tried out pole for fun and got burned, come to atomic allure and i guarantee you, you'll change your mind! CLASSES: On top of all of that, classes in Atomic Allure are so affordable. I got a $90/10 class pass, bringing my average class price to $9! Ridiculous! Ridiculously good I mean, for the quality of the classes you get. In every class I've been to, each girl has gotten her own pole and gets enough time for corrections/help from the teachers. They also have a super convenient online booking system which makes browsing and booking classes a breeze! TEACHERS: My first ever pole teacher was Keli and she is so sweet and kind and encouraging. I enjoyed every class I took with her, although it looks like she doesn't really teach pole anymore. I took my first inversion class with Donna. She is really kind and encouraging and definitely pushes you to try new things, things that you might not imagine you can do, but that she totally shows you that you can. Donna is super encouraging and challenges you to get better every time. Her classes do move really quickly, which is super great because you learn a ton of moves. But if you ever feel lost, just ask and she's really great about taking time out to help you. Lauren is such a fun and upbeat teacher. I wish she had been my first pole teacher because she is just so encouraging and is completely hilarious. She is so patient and encouraging with everyone and is always sure to keep an eye out on people who seem to be struggling in class. She also is really detailed and great about offering corrections! I'm sure everyone else in the studio is great! So if you are ever thinking of starting out with pole, but have been intimidated/burned before, try atomic allure and you'll definitely fall in love with it. One tiny constructive criticism - It would be really nice if we had more classes that focused on climbing/inverting. I think I've been to one inversion virgin and one vertical vixen class, and it doesn't look like they're being offered in the next few weeks. It would be super helpful to have more of those classes so we can focus on building strength to do tricks properly :) read more

Atomic Allure is everything I ever wanted in a pole dancing studio. I did and have been doing a lot of research for years on pole dancing studios in LA and the Bay Area, as I've been "stuck" in Santa Barbara where there are none easily accessible. I was waiting for the time I would either be in LA or the Bay long enough to buy a series of classes, and the time came this month! 1. The pricing is the most affordable you'll find anywhere. Buy the 5 series for $55 or the 10 series for $90, as most pole classes you'll find anywhere are always around $20-$25 per class. It's such a steal here. You can tell Atomic Allure really wants to build a community and have people come dance regularly, not just come once or twice and spend a ton of money. 2. The studio is BEAUTIFUL! More beautiful than you can tell from the photos. Huge and with so many poles, I've never had to share one, and only once or twice did I get one without a perfect view of the mirrors (didn't matter too much). There are also couches in the pole room and tons of cubbies and space to put your belongings. 3. The vibe is incredibly open and welcoming. You'll see women here of all different ages and ability, and everyone is really awesome at cheering each other on and smiling and laughing through a class. I was so surprised and delighted by that. It made me feel so much more comfortable while I struggled through my first few pole classes. And when you do get a trick, there's usually someone who has noticed and says "YES!" 4. The teachers are amazing! I'm impressed by how much I've been able to learn so quickly and how confident I feel. They really do watch you during class and are really open with questions and offer constant support. With most of them, it's really obvious how they have a real solid understanding of anatomy and movement. That's really comforting, consider we're flinging ourselves around poles. As far as location goes (I went to the Oakland one), it's 2.5 blocks from 12th St. bart, super convenient. If you want to drive, after 6 pm there's free street parking and you can usually find a spot on the 300 block of 13th street where the studio is or the next one. From what I knew before of Oakland, I thought this was a dangerous area, but it really doesn't feel that way at all. I just wouldn't be hanging out there at night by myself for too long. I just get in my car and go or take the quick walk to bart and it's fine. Thank you Donna for having a great studio, and thanks to all of the teachers (especially Angela, Keli and Dejuan who I took classes from)! I'm sad to leave this community and start school in Santa Cruz, but every time I get a chance to get to the East Bay I'll be taking a class here. read more

I was super excited to buy their Living Social for a pole dance for 6 people. I thought it would be fun to do it with my girlfriends. I tried scheduling online via their website... no luck. Classes full. Website calendar didn't work. I called several times and left voicemails - no reply. I emailed them several times and DID get a reply. Sadly the Living Social had expired by then and Donna replied, "With expired vouchers you have the dollar amount that you paid that does not expire and can be applied to reserving a party or towards classes. I finished my Living Social deal and signed up for 10 more classes. I bought pole shoes and shorter shorts and I truly cannot get enough. I first signed up because I was looking for a good workout. Then I stopped caring about the workout and just wanted to learn the tricks. Now I've moved on to the Pole Tease classes and I just want to be sexy! I can't remember the last time I tried something new that was this scary and this exciting. I'm hooked. And Jessica and Donna are awesome! I love their choreography and fun, playful, sexy attitude. These ladies are awesome!!! I took my first course (strip tease) last night and loved it. I took a intro pole dancing course at another place a few weeks ago and I didn't feel as welcomed or that the trainer was really teaching. These ladies seemed to really love what they do. Pros: -good class size -two awesome trainers -they make you feel comfortable (and sexy) -routine is easy enough to learn but challenging -sit-ups, yoga poses, strength training before the dance begins -hip hop music -trainers are skilled, knowledgeable and non-judgmental -everyone who works there is welcoming and engaging -great prices and packages (check groupon or living social for deals) -they sale tons of products there -class schedule (late night courses) -you get a good workout (I started sweating within 5 minutes) Cons -class started a little late (didn't bother me but could bother some) - small space for pole dancing and you have to share poles (not a big deal) I can't wait for my next class. This Review is for the studio located in Livermore. For my 30th, I chose to have a Pole Party at Atomic Allure, based on all of the reviews, I figured I'd give them a try! Everything form the planning process to the actual party was GREAT! Donna was very helpful and quick to respond to all of my questions and concerns. I had a group of 20 ladies and she was sure she could accommodate everyone. She tailored the event based on what I requested and I couldn't of been more happier with the outcome! Come the night of the party, I met our instructors of the evening, Donna, Sam, and Crystal! All of these beautiful ladies made us feel welcomed, relaxed, and comfortable with our bodies! No one was judging, as most of us were trying this for the first time...including my mom! LOL! The ladies were very patient with us and most of all, they checked with me, the birthday girl, before they started each lesson! My party was perfect, we were even allowed to bring our own food and beverages! Donna, Sam, and Crystal, thanks again providing such a great atmosphere for women to get in touch with our sexy side! I've never felt sexier. Two things about me..I hate gyms, and I love to have fun. Atomic Allure offers so many fantastic classes that both kick your ass, and teach you to work your ass. It's the best of all worlds. I leave sore, and stay sore for days at a time, and with a new sense of self. I love getting in shape, but what I love the most, is leaving that studio feeling empowered. During class, I watch my body move, and I am amazed at the fact that, I AM STILL SEXY! This motivates me even more to maintain a healthy lifestyle :-) Its a win- win. Tips... arrive a bit early, parking can be tricky. The studio is upstairs (open the double doors next to the Shadow Lounge). My hats go off to the instructor's are amazing. And of course, hats off to those of you looking to get out of your comfort zone, and try something a little crazy. DO IT! Went for a dance class and it was the best workout I have had just from dancing. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Street parking was pretty easy to find for $2per hour (meters stop at 6). I saw a Living Social Deal for ten classes at this place. I wasn't sure what to expect as this was my first time at this studio. I loved the open space and area to hold your belongings. The equipment was top of the line and in great condition. I would definitely recommend looking into the dance classes they offer they are fun! read more

Teachers are always so positive and balanced that out with confidence and sass and you got the best atmosphere for new pole students. For a pole gym, the ladies focus on athleticism and attitude. Donna is a great owner and my favorite teacher. Their pricing and membership fee is a bit inconsistent and the floors are messed up. I wish the facility matched the people and emotional atmosphere. One thing this gym doesn't do as well in is breaking things down. Which is great for someone like me who already had experience but it can be very challenging for new comers. But their positive and sassy energy keeps their customer coming back. read more

I'm totally sold on classes here, and it's all because of Jessica! Her energy, positivity, praise and amazing example made me enjoy myself SO much. I can't say enough good things about her, and now I basically want to take every class she teaches. Like many others, I got a deal on Living Social. I was really apprehensive because the place reallllly doesn't look like much on the outside, but once the class started, I had a great time. Lots of warmup, stretching and ab work before getting on the poles, and then even in the Intro class, we were learning cool tricks right off the bat! And pole dancing is great because you really feel like you've accomplished something seemingly impossible when you manage to, say, climb all the way to the ceiling in your first class. I don't get that kind of rewarded feeling from jogging! Yes, my arms are crazy sore for a couple of days after, but that just means it's working. And not just my arms, but my abs, my quads, my shoulders... oh yeah. Good stuff. I REALLY wish the area weren't so sketchy, and the actual studio is pretty small and low-budget, hence my not giving it a full five stars. But once you're dancing, those things don't matter quite so much. Thanks for the great workout! My girlfriends and I will be back even without the Living Social deal :) read more

I've taken two classes so far and loving it. Jessica really works your abs, arms, legs and hands. My best friend and I take the class together and not only do we have fun, but we're getting such a good workout. I look forward to going each week and testing out my new found skills. A regular gym workout is just not the same anymore. Parking is easy too. There is parking up and down the block and directly in front of the studio. The reason I gave the four stars is because of the location. If I could give 4.5, I would. It's not that bad, but can be a little sketchy at night. Both times that I've taken a class, there were people wandering around the area and some weird-o guy came in rambling nonsense one evening. It would be better if they locked the door at night, but I doubt they could because of classes held directly after. If they could figure out a way to block off the entry way from the main studio, that would be super! I highly recommend trying out Jessica's class. She's energetic, funny, and creates a welcoming environment for new and returning students. read more

This place was great! The person at the front desk was super nice and friendly and definitely made me feel comfortable in the new environment. The instructors were great and easy to approach for the most part. Although I noticed that the instructors were being very serious at times and that made it a little uncomfortable for me to have fun. They were helpful, nonetheless. The location seems a little sketchy, especially at night. It's one of the only places on the street that are open that late, and the street can be very dark at certain points. Once you step into the front desk area of Atomic Allure, you almost forget about the creepy street it's located on. It's very relaxed and colorful. Again, the person at the front desk really made me feel comfortable in such a foreign environment. Despite some of the drawbacks, this place is awesome! I plan on using up the rest of my Groupon with them and continuing with classes, if my budget allows. read more

Great instruction, great variety of classes, great workout, great playlists, never overcrowded and a relaxed atmosphere to help you feel comfortable. The most important benefit for me, though, has been the huge boost in confidence. I feel like I really *own* my body and my sexuality, and am really coming into my power through this experience. This is a transformative gift that I wish for every woman, especially if you're coming back from issues around body dysmorphia. This is pretty much all I want to do with my time now, hah! I organized a pole dancing class here for my friends bachelorette and we all loved the experience we got. The instructor was friendly and showed us all the moves. We give props to pole dancers because it is not easy. We were all sore the next day. Also look into this if you want a different way of getting fit and working out because this would tone your body completely. Over all good experience. read more

LOVE LOVE LOVE. I had just the BEST time. Yes, the outside is a little scary at night, but once you get in, it's so much fun. the instructors are badass. So strong and they make all the moves look so easy!!!!!! I can't believe what a workout i got- my arms are still sore! I was on the waiting list to get in, but there were a few no shows, so i was able to get in. Great stretches in the beginning, so much laughter and not intimidating whatsoever!!!! Over the last 3 or so years, I've been to two 6-10 week bootcamps/workshops and a handful of classes. I'm not a full-on​ vertical pole dancer and I'm no spring chicken. I really admire the mixture of strength, balance, agility​ and flexibility​ you work with doing this style of dance. I love this place! The owner is really focused, enjoyable and wonderful to work with. All around, the studio is supportive, fun, professional, and the music is great! I've been to one other pole studio in Berkeley (5-6 times, a few years ago). At this point, Atomic Allure is hands-down​ the only studio I think about when I feel like doing a pole class. read more

Chelsea was our instructor for a bachelorette party. She greeted me with a hug and made us all feel comfortable right away. She showed us different types of moves that worked with all our different body types. The class was way more fun than I anticipated.
