Some items are a similar price to the supermarket, but mostly they're quite a bit cheaper- especially good for biscuits, sweets and jars of sauce etc. Also keep a look out for the cookware- they have some silicone bakeware that's a lot more expensive elsewhere, photoframes and other great value stuff. They have a reduced section at the top of the store which has mostly costume jewellery but makes fab xmas presents if you buy a new funky box which they sell too. The rugs are excellent value and the paintings and mirrors are very modern. I love the xmas decorations they have in and noticed recently that they have started to sell fragances which looking at it at quite competitively priced. The store itself is quite big and can get bust at the weekends but if you persevere you will find a bargain somewhere in there

The staff are particularly helpful if you are choosing a colour scheme , they will come up with some great ideas so make sure you ask if you are stuck. The only complaint i have is there are not enough tills, particularly at busy times like christmas and sometimes the queues are almost to the end of the shop, so beware if you are in a rush.

They always have a huge selection of foods, snacks, drinks and sweets. The housewares section is particularly good with things like lamps, Cushions, curtains and bed sets at ridiculous prices. Home bargains isn't the kind of place that has a lasting array of stock. Their inventary is ever changing so if you see something you want but don't have the money, don't expect to go next week and they will still have it. You have to grab it while it is there. They do a lot of end of line stuff from other stores and I would guess at the moment probably have a lot of ex-Woolworths stock. I would suggest that if you have a Home bargains in your area go stock up now for birthdays and Christmas gifts or cards. Sometimes the staff can be a bit ignorant. I think they probably employ youngsters for the cheap wages but sometimes a smile would be nice. They also have a sign saying that never more than 3 to a queue but that should read never more than 3 staff on at a time

Home Bargains has to be one of the best discount stores in the UK. I have bought so many things…read morefrom there! Unlike most discount stores, most of the products are 'well known' brands. The only downside I can think of the place is that when you go back for more of the same thing, they are usually gone as product cycles are very fast. I've even bought 2 sets of leather chairs from the shop which have been just as good quality as ones people have bought for a much higher price. Thoroughly worth a look when you are near the area. Get your wallet ready and a trolley because you are going to need them!

They also have really good seasonal departments - loads of christmas ornaments and decorations in the winter (including plenty of those annoying singing christmas characters!) and a pretty extensive garden department in the summer. And best of all, their prices are really low, so it's well worth a look if you need anything from batteries to bin bags to bedding.

It is a large store with plenty of kiosks, so although queues build up, you always get served quickly. As you walk in, the main offers are on the left & then isles are dedicated to different sections including soaps/toothpastes/gels, pet foods and accessories, homewares, stationary and DIY tools. Overall, prices at Wilkinsons are low, but you have to look out for them as sometimes they are more expensive than the supermarkets.
