We always referred them for jobs we couldn't get to and certainly for all heavy duty. We only had medium duty trucks. My dad died and pit stop closed. So as a family if we ever need something towed or hauled we use Elite. My son's truck was towed to Elite and I am very curious as to what's gonna happen when he wants to get his truck. My other son works for LCPD and deals with broke down cars and towing cars all the time.

They produced a transcript showing they told me the cost upfront, but it felt engineered to protect them, not me. Even though I specifically asked the drivers to air up my new Michelin Agilis tires, they didn't. Later they claimed the tires were in poor condition -- completely false. Tires purchased in Nov. 2024 with fewer than 3,000 miles on them. They disconnected the driveshaft (which is necessary on my rig) but didn't reinstall it. Instead, they shoved it inside my RV door so I had to move it just to get inside. When I called to question this, I was told they're "not mechanics" and sounded very dismissive -- frankly, I got the impression they thought I wouldn't push back because I'm a woman. They also only accept credit cards and charge a 4% fee, refusing other payment options. My invoice showed 5 x $300 = $1,500 (plus fee), but the time of service was only 3.5 hours. They wouldn't give an invoice unless I requested it, claiming their payment processor "just doesn't do that." When they did produce an invoice, it showed my signature on the bottom, which was taken from the in-field process of payment sent in a text form that was required for the credit card payment. When I asked about using a smaller truck (my rig is far lighter than a semi), I was told only their heavy wrecker would work. They stood by everything, never acknowledging any overcharge or inadequate service. If you use them, get everything in writing, expect a very high bill, and don't expect customer service or fair consideration after they have your money.

The radiator was split with possible damage to the engine. I left the car with them to replace the radiator and then test for additional damage to the engine. They then drove me and my wife to the airport to rent a car (not going into that saga now but no cars available from anyone yet Avis managed to majically make one appear). We continued on our trip and my car was ready when we returned. Mike had kept in touch daily so I already knew that the engine was ok and just the radiator had needed repair. I couldn't ask for more caring and helpful service having been stranded in unfamiliar territory. By the way, while I didn't see much of Lake Charles, all the people I met remind me of what true southern hospitality means. I was concerned that the price was high (although cheaper than the alternatives) so I looked it up on the internet after getting home. The price was on the high end of the expected range but within the range so I can't complain. I am sure there are cheaper places around but I doubt there are any beetter. If I ever have a car problem in Lake Charles I'll go back to Family Auto & Quick Lube Services. The only thing I think I'd suggest they change is the length of their name.
