Nice looking facility, but terrible staff who are more concerned with their image and their personal gain instead of caring for people.

Glade Corners Apartments is an independent living community for seniors. It is NOT a nursing home…read moreor assisted living community. The area is reasonable, and maintenance is good. It is controlled by Pure Property Management. We were here for more than 2 years. Unfortunately, there were some problems. Our one bedroom unit was listed as having 700 sq. ft. However, we measured it and found it had less than 600 sq. ft. Both the closet and the laundry alcove were a bit small. Most laundry machines will not fit. There was no outside storage closet, and the unit was cramped. Residents who pay rent online are charged a collection fee of $7.00--10.00 for submitting their rent. Sometimes the online payment system doesn't work correctly and slaps on extra charges "by mistake." Some of our neighbors who paid rent on time were incorrectly assessed late charges of $50.00. In addition to that, Pure Management combines the monthly water bill with the rent. This often leads to confusion for renters. Sometimes the water bills do not reach residents on time, which creates more difficulty. Rental contracts also have hidden surprises. There's a $150.00 charge for renewing your lease. If you want to move out, management may put an access key box on your door so they can show your apt. unit at their convenience. If you want the key box removed for your privacy, a $350.00 service fee applies.

Every single one of these people have been wonderful to my mother-in-law. She suffered a horrific stroke that has left her helpless and I mean to tell you, their job is unbelievably hard work. The things that they' are having to do- if you can only imagine- are the things no one would want to do to earn a living, yet they do it with a smile on their faces. They are amazing and seem to really care. They allow you to put cameras in there so we can watch her anytime we want to and speak to her over the camera microphone as well. This place is so nice and extremely upscale- Trust me as I went into many nursing home facilities and was disgusted by the sight and smell of them. I am so glad that I found The Carlyle and I wouldn't have it any other way. Every single business these days are struggling to find employees yet they contract out help when left short handed so I think leaving those past reviews in the past is a smart thing to do and look forward into the now and check this place out for yourself and your loved ones. You are welcome! Annie Hale

Absolutely the worst experience I could ever expect to have with a nursing facility that I trusted…read moreto care for my father. I believe that the Carlyle failed to monitor and properly care for a UTI that my father had while in the Carlyle's care. I arrived to his room with him crying in excruciating pain and unable to talk (the last time I saw him, conversation was not a problem). I tried to get help from a nurse three times, explaining that something was horribly wrong--no sense of urgency whatsoever. I soon noticed blood in my father's catheter--blood that apparently the nurse and other staff member knew nothing about. I demanded that the facility call 911. The nurse was more concerned about filling out "paperwork" than calling 911. Upon arrival, the paramedics quickly identified signs of what they believed to be sepsis. At the ER, I was told that my father's catheter was clogged, that when they removed the catheter green pus came out with the catheter, that he had an acute kidney infection, and that they were treating him for sepsis. I would never in a million years recommend this nursing home to anyone. This never should have happened.

This review is for relative newbies like me to the 55 & over crowd. In chatting with our delightful…read moremanager the other day, corporate has been modestly soliciting reviews & I'm all too happy to do so. The most salient aspect of Evergreen is something most people don't even think about; they are a local concern as opposed to national, so not owned by some outside interest. This means hands-down better management, less cost, and sincere attention to the 'Standard of Living' experience. Evergreen values its reputation & you see a conspicuous full case of well-earned awards right there at the front door to prove it. I try to be rather descriptive below, and do so to express how refreshing it was upon moving in to come to a property where the care & concern for the residents is so palpably genuine... To wit: Facility: The grounds are meticulously kept. You see that a lot around town yes, except here it's actually 24-7 two-up clean & tidy. The pool area is quaint and beautifully appointed; on a summer evening for example it's a perfect conversational get-away and no mosquitoes (!)... Typical amenities abound, except here they're always carefully maintained & by golly everything works. First-rate gym equipment, spotless game room w/ pool table, meeting/library rooms, a general group gathering/rec area that also has a clean, fully equipped kitchen. This location also has a secured easy-access parking garage with larger spaces; hence getting in & out of the car is a snap. There's no assigned spaces other than handicaps so you always have a convenient spot every time. Notably, the tow-truck gangs are not allowed to come hunting here so never a worry on that end either. Location: Tucked away in the southwest corner of Farmers Branch, traffic getting to local grocery, retail, and dining is non-existent. Everything necessary for your day to day is a couple miles away or less, and the facility even has a shuttle service for that too. Overall the surrounding area is uniquely safe & peaceful, and Farmers Branch Police are without question the best of all of the Dallas suburbs. There are also miles of walking & riding trails immediately adjacent. Community: Best neighbors ever! Ages run the gamut & are mostly women. Personal get-togethers are constant, open-invitation, and a variety of groups have formed over time for gaming, hang-outs & what-nots... Sponsored holiday events & varietal programs of interest are recurrently orchestrated by management and depending on the topic are geared toward appropriate members of the community accordingly. Residency: Subtle niceties avail themselves once you're getting settled in... You discover there was no skimping on convenience or privacy here. Little things like a plug always right where you need one, abundant pre-installed lighting, a roomy ambience with superior sound insulation to boot. In simple terms, the floor plans were well thought-out and in this price-range are likely unbeatable. On a Personal Note: I moved in here because I could, primarily to address the increasing needs of my mother who had been a resident here past 10 years. Though titled as a senior community, the fact is this place is a hidden gem. I've known many of the residents here for years, as well as the management over time. The service here is unmatched. The cost/value ratio also unbeatable. Most apartment communities are of course geared toward a different crowd; so getting away from certain annoyances of modern communal living, (take your pick) has been a real treat. If for yourself or a loved one you're looking into this category of residence, I fervently endorse the Evergreen brand, and if this specific location is convenient, start here... Note: The pictures available on the net are from initial construction. The landscaping is well developed now and far superior to what the pictures show...
