STOP! Please Read! Do not place your family member here. Atria has so many problems from leadership to daily care staff as well as med techs. Turn over is very high. Care staff does not get along with each other which therefore the resident suffers. Our parent was a resident from May 2025- early 2026- Assisted living in which they never met her care plan needs she was paying for. $ 6500 monthly. We had to go multiple times weekly to take care of her needs. Neglect everywhere with multiple residents. We communicate with many other residents - same problems. Staff needs a lot more training on communication with dementia residents as well as general care. Multiple medication errors. Janae - med tech is very un-professional and does not know her job and the importance of understanding medications and what they are given for. Care staff very rude, no compassion with dementia residents. Atria turnover with executive director as well as nurse coordinator- multiple since last May 2025. Multiple EMS calls per week to facilty. Atria is grapevines #1 EMS call monthly. I could go on and on. My parent was very ill and hospitalized and never returned by our choice. Always do your homework on a facilty by pulling the state reports. Please don't waste your parent's money on this facilty. read more

My father stayed in this particular assisted living for roughly a year. The facility itself is pretty. And staff is friendly. But my problems lies with policies. My father was in and out of the hospital a lot. Eventually I had to end his living at atria because he was in the hospital for over 3 months. The facility could/ should have notified me the family member that they were about to destroy his leftover medication , so that I could have saved him hundreds of dollars. Now that he is being discharged finally from the hospital I have to repurchase all his medication again. They should really consider rectifying this policy. I don't believe any new caretaker would know in advance that the medication would be destroyed so quickly. read more

The Care team is caring and I appreciate them greatly! However, the current ED that claims to also be a nurse is something else.... If you have any regard to the safety of your loved ones, do not let them live here. I, as a nurse, have warned her that she needs to implement BLOOD PRESSURE checks whenever the team gives BLOOD PRESSURE MEDICATION. She, instead, fought that and would not even give me the time of day to try to implement something or talk to the corporate team. BP/HTN is KNOWN as the silent killer among all healthcare professionals, this is KNOWN NELGECT. As a nurse for 10years, I highly recommend against this facility for the time being. I moved a person into Atria, Grapevine on Friday. Moving Seniors is what I do for a living, so I see many facilities. I was warmly greeted and treated so kindly by every member of the Atria team while I was there. They even offered me lunch and something to drink. (This level of kindness and consideration doesn't always happen). I was so impressed that I just wanted to thank them and let people know. read more

PARENTS DESERVE BETTER. Where do I begin? It would take too long to go thru all the issues we had at this assisted living facility but will list some highlights. Started out fine, said whatever you want to hear to get you in and sign paperwork. Lots of smiles. Didn't do most of what was promised after we moved in. Medicines we had to order and they give for $700 a month? Didn't make sure thay were taken or accurate. Gave wrong amounts often and at the times they wanted not times Dr said. Said could eat at anytime but most foods not available like fresh fruit? Table partners not with anyone they had anything in common with. Big deal when your new. Security none existent. After Dr said they could move home (every old persons dream) and we sent a 30 day notice letter they wouldn't give us our medicine to have with us so we could be gone a for the weekend? Forcing us to pay for another 5 days to give them their own medicine even though Dr said we could administer ourself. Also tried to upcharge the medicine fee from the original negotiations saying the administration a week after they moved in saying the administration of medicine was more complex? All you had to do is bring their medicine to them to them and make sure they swallow them!! The faculties Executive Director told us that if we moves out early they would reimburse us for the vacated days. So we accelerated our move and was out by the 10th. The Director has been reassigned to another facility and now they won't honor her statement and give us the 20 days they owe us. Approx $4000.00! Watch extras like charges like laundry and TV as they get added on. Look for another place to put your dear parents and due more research to be sure you have them at a reputable honorable place at the outrageous prices they charge. Read the fine print they are counting on you not taking the time to review so they can slip out of any verbal commitments. There has to better alternatives out there. WATCH THAT SMILE ! read more

I wish I could give Atria Grapevine a positive review and recognize the dilemma that assisted living facilities are in due to Covid. However, the care that our loved one received was poor and I think it's important for the community to be aware. The most concerning challenge was management's inability to take responsibility when issues arose. We experienced several issues, including medication being administered incorrectly. There seemed to be minimal training for management and staff members to understand the different kinds of behaviors that occur during stages of dementia, which led to our loved one being left without reasonable needs being met. Although we encountered many kind and hard working employees, our overall experience was not a positive one. read more

Moving my Mom to Atria was the best decision ever. She is 90 with Alzheimer's and instead of being stuck in her home with one person going from bed to tv chair, she is socializing, laughing, and enjoying 3 healthy delicious meals a day. The caregivers are bighearted happy folks that have a calling for this demographic. She now gets her hair done weekly, and is cared for with compassion and wisdom!! read more

My mom has been here 3.5 months and I couldn't be happier. They are like a wonderful family. Great atmosphere, the caregivers are kind and happy, which makes everyone smile. Lots of activities, great food, and the Directors are top notch, they know the residents. I never worry. My Dad and I interviewed several centers and were sold on Atria. We did two tours and had lunch to try the meals. Dad liked Atria the best based on the looks and the price comparisons. Dad was here from out of town and planned on moving to Texas from Florida upon the sale of his home and many of his things due to downsizing from a four bedroom home to a one bedroom apartment. The night before Dad's planned return to Florida to get things ready for the move we were informed that he needed to sign a lease effective immeadiately to get the pricing we were sold on and used for the comparisons or there would be a significant, 25%, increase in the base rent. They did some # crunching to honor the deal we were sold and he did sign the commitment and paid the entry fee and first months rent although he would not occupy the apartment until the second month of rent. Immediately upon returning home Dad had some difficulties dealing with all the proposed changes and decided not to go thru with the move. He notified Atria in writing of his new intentions and I spoke with the person we had been working with to find out if there was anything possible to get a refund of the payments made. That was two weeks ago and I have heard nothing and they dont return calls anymore. I understand that they are entitled legally to bind Dad to the contract, but due to the pressure to sign before he returned home to secure the reduced rate it left a bad taste in both of our mouths. I am writing this review so that people who are trying to make the right decision with respect to their loved one. Atria Grapevine is not what they portray themselves to be. I want to first start with my overall experience with respect to the facility based on my actual experiences for the 5 months that my mother lived in the facility. * They are chronically understaffed, and this leads to a level of service that was not anywhere near what they portrayed when they we first visited the facility. They didn't have enough staff to: o promptly serve the residents their meals. o check on my mother as often as they said they would o communicate patient care effectively and promptly. This lead medication not being stopped, not being changed, etc. * The food steadily deteriorated over the time we were there. When we moved in it was good, the menu was varied. By the time we moved out it not as good as your average high school cafeteria * Maintenance and cleaning were almost non-existent. We had to make repeated requests for the lock on her door to be fixed, her toilette to stop leaking/running and to fix her a/c. The a/c unit for the apartment was woefully small for the square footage of the actual apartment * Even though you pay for cleaning, they are not very diligent and thorough when it comes to cleaning the apartment. I even swept some items into a corner to see how long it would take them to clean them up. They never did and I had to point it out to them Now we need to get into the financial aspects of the operation. My mother executed a lease in April 2019 and moved into the facility in mid-May. In the lease there is a clause that points out that if you are not physically living in the facility, you must pay your rent to keep your apartment but you are not going to be expected to pay for care, meds, etc. We noticed what we believed to be some billing issues and requested a meeting with the facility director in June. We discussed that per the lease we should not have been billed for the care and meds. Janie agreed that we should not have been charged and would get them credited back to us. We asked for a second meeting in July to discuss the issue from June as well as some other issues. This time the Medical Director was also included. We informed Janie that we were still looking for our refund for April and May. She was going to investigate it. More importantly we discussed that they had a new staffer who is charged with assisting the residents overnight. My mother complained that this new person was "mean" and when we asked what she meant she told me that "this lady asks me if I just stupid. And that I need to help her "We were told that they had an idea of who this person was and that it would be addressed. Instead of terminating this person they simply transferred them to another job. After that fact we discovered that there had been multiple complaints about this staffer We finally did get this credit to our account sometime in late July. There was change in Directors in October while my mother left the facility for a medical procedure. She was in the hospital and a rehab for the next three months. During that time was continued to be charged for the charges in excess of the monthly rent. We have repeatedly requested a refund of this balance with no response. To top it off, even though we were told that they could not accept my Mother back due to their assessment they did debit her account for the January payment. On an aside, my Mother was able to get into another facility at a reduced level of care. It does not appear that we are going to receive the requested refund amiably so "buyer beware" when it comes to Atria Grapevine read more

This is a follow-up of my previous email sent in June. My mother has been a resident at Atria Grapevine since May and I cannot say enough about their assisted care and all the available services. As a retired ICU nurse and along with my cardiologist (MD, PhD) brother, we researched the best place to move our 91 year old mother. For quite a while, my mother struggled with losing her independence and resented my placing her in the Atria. Well . . . I just got the nicest phone call from my mother. She told me how happy she is!! She is so pleased with all the loving care the staff and administration give her. She has also made so many friends there. In fact, a couple of weeks ago she had to go to the hospital for a couple of days. Throughout her hospitalization, she kept telling us she couldn't wait to get back home to Atria and her friends. Nice looking facility, but terrible staff who are more concerned with their image and their personal gain instead of caring for people.

I personally wanted to thank all of you for the love and care that you have showed and continue to show for my mom and for my dad when he was with us. The staff has been wonderful. Atria is such a warm and beautiful place and that is due to the people there. You treat each and every resident as family. I know we made the right decision, however short it was, to place Mom and Dad in your care. Thank you for all that you did. read more
