Her style felt fresh and unconventional -- more documentary and journalistic than traditional -- and I especially loved her use of black and white photography, which was a big reason we chose her. The day started at our hotel, where she jumped between our separate rooms to capture my wife and me getting ready. Before she had even gotten to our rooms, she had already scouted the perfect location for our first look. The moment was absolutely incredible, and she handled everything; we didn't have to do a thing but follow her lead. That professional confidence continued at City Hall. She has a masterful familiarity with the building. She took full control of the shoot, guiding us as she told us exactly where to stand, how to pose, and where to move next so we could just relax and enjoy the moment. As a photographer myself, I really appreciated her confidence and professionalism. All we had to do was follow instructions and be present. She knows San Francisco City Hall inside and out -- the lighting, the angles, the timing, and the key locations that truly matter -- every shot felt deliberate and it showed. The technical skill here is top-notch-- the compositions were beautiful, the balance of each frame was spot-on, and her gorgeous color grading. We received around 300 images, and the quality is so consistent that I plan to print every last one of them in large format to ensure we have a permanent physical archive. When we received the final package, we were so touched -- she sent our photos on a beautiful USB drive along with printed images, some sweets, and other thoughtful details. It was the perfect finishing touch to a genuinely wonderful experience. We had calls with several other photographers, but when we finished our first call with Jamie and Lauren we knew they were our top choice, mostly because they exuded the fun, low-stress, positive vibe we wanted around us on our wedding day. After booking with Jamie and Lauren the rest of the process was very simple. They sent a questionnaire a few weeks before the wedding asking about what style we wanted, and what specific shots we needed. We compiled a shot list and shared our wedding timeline. Overall the prep was simple, and Jamie and Lauren showed up prepared and ready for the day. Jamie and Lauren fit in to our wedding crowd like the were guests and we never felt like they were out of place as the photographed. In fact, looking at some of the final photos we remarked that we were surprised that they captured a shot because we didn't even notice them being around at that moment! They made us feel comfortable while we were taking portraits and we had fun exploring the redwoods at our venue with them. We loved how excited they were to take cool shots and really embrace the beautiful setting we were in. And then there are the photos themselves... The whole album is a comprehensive capture of our entire wedding. They didn't miss a thing. From getting ready, to the very end of the night we have great photos of everything. For the engagement photos, this was back in November 2023. She was already there when we arrived. Zach and I both felt so awkward and nervous since this was our first photo shoot, but Anna worked her magic and did her best to help us relax for the entire session. She's also a dog person so I was overjoyed that our dog was able to join us in these photos. After we saw the amazing engagement photos, I knew I had to secure her for our wedding day. Anna was there early again to scope out the wedding venue and checked in with both Zach and I the entire event. When I was having trouble walking in my dress, she was quick on her feet to help me. From the very beginning, Eric was incredibly responsive and helpful. Even before our shoot, he shared great tips and answered all our questions, which made us feel confident and excited going into the day. On the day of our wedding, Eric showed up early and was extremely professional. His talent and vision were clear right away. My husband and I aren't the most experienced when it comes to posing, but Eric guided us through everything so naturally. One of the best parts? The turnaround time. He sent us a sneak peek of the photos just a few hours after the shoot -- and they already looked amazing! By the next day, he sent over all the unedited photos so we could choose our favorites.
