Great little place with a fantastic patio on the St. Lawrence. We went there on a Saturday night at a little after 7 and were disappointed to see a sign on the door saying that the dining room was full. Happily, the hostess got the ok to seat us (party of 2) and we went on the patio. Unfortunately, the houseflies on the patio were too much for us and we had to go inside after about 20 minutes.
But the food was very good. We shared a calamari appetizer and split a burger, and both were quite good. The ownership also runs a farm that raises excellent cattle, whose meat is served in all the beef dishes on the menu, so we thought the burger was an appropriate choice. We were right.
As someone else noted, La Ferme also serves locally-brewed beer (Les Grandes Bois, in nearby St. Casimir), but it also sources other ingredients from local farms such as Terra Sativa in St. Alban. The service was attentive but not suffocating and the kitchen did a good job with the dishes we enjoyed. We'd gladly make a return visit! read more
