We were seated on the patio and our very sweet server was right out to take our drink order. Since we are eating Poutine all over Canada in search of our favorite. We so enjoyed sitting on the patio, it was a beautiful day, we were people watching and enjoying the umbrellas place up the alley. Our poutine was delivered to the table and I can honestly say it was our favorite. The fries were crunch and creamy on the inside. The gravy was rich and had a deep flavor and the cheese curds had lightly melted. Every bite was perfect. The eatery and bar are tucked into a stone house that dates back to 1668, if only the walls could talk. The bar and restaurant feature local Quebec cuisine and is a gem. The service was excellent as was the atmosphere.

We had 9 people and they sat 5 at a table and 4 at the bar and we were completely fine with the arrangement. It is quaint and small and we could see our family and even shared some food since we Were close enough. The cheese fondue is not to be missed . It was absolutely the perfect start to our meal. Then we shared an original poutine and it also was delicious- best I had on our trip thus far! I ordered mussels for my meal and a steaming pot arrived and they were yummy. Ambiance and service were great. They accommodated our awful French attempts. Drinks were large. Honestly, I feel lucky to have dined here. Everything was wonderful!

Almost at the entry to old town they entice you with a dinner special. This place is an absolute gem! From the moment we walked in, the vibe was perfect -- warm, welcoming, and full of energy. The staff went above and beyond, super friendly and genuinely happy to be there (which says a lot). They also spoke English which helped out a lot. Now the food... unreal. Everything we tried was bursting with flavor, perfectly cooked, and beautifully presented. You can tell they care about quality and consistency. The beer selection. Over 200 beers on tap and in bottles -- local brews, imports, seasonal picks -- literally something for everyone. The bartender knew his stuff and even helped us find the perfect pairings for our meal. Between the amazing food, the unbeatable beer list, and the great service, this place checks every box. Definitely my new go-to spot for dinner, drinks, and good times with friends. 10/10 -- Can't wait to come back!

The perfect place to stop when the skies suddenly open up and soak you as you are walking down! Parking: ummmm.. why would you drive here? Place: It's a pub. Obviously havent been updated in a while but the that's what all the good pubs are like :) There are 2 sections I sat in the back part, the front was filled with customers who had been sitting out under those umbrellas before the rain came . Lots of different sized tables. Ooh they have a shelf full of board games. Food: I don't drink but they have lots of craft beers and the couple next to me loved the amount they had on tap. When I first walked in the waitress walked by with what looked like a giant lasagna with salad and I thought oh I want that. When I looked at the menu I realized they don't have lasagna and I figured it must be the croques Monsieur. So that is what I ordered and that is exactly what came. It was very generous and full of cheese which was toasted golden brown it was really good. The salad was good too really fresh the dressing was good. I'm glad I chose it. Staff was nice. They spoke both French and English depending on what you were more comfortable with. I stumbled through French because I'm in Quebec I should speak French. It was a really casual vibe it was like a nice little oasis I had been walking a lot that day and it was just relaxing and chill. Would totally go again. I really like the food. I mean there's a thousand other reasons to be in the area but in the area I would stop there

The staff was friendly and accommodating. They immediately offered water to my dog. They were also attentive, but seemed to be a bit scatter-brained at times. Food was good. Bar food. Can't complain. You didn't feel horrible eating it. Quite filling and tasty actually. Yes, it's in the middle of a heavy traffic area. It may seem like a tourist trap, but it isn't. Worth a stop of a good bite while going through the city.

There was a jazz trio playing -- two elderly men on guitar and bass, and a younger fellow on the drums. They were rocking it. The crowd got pretty into it too, applauding the solos, swaying, and tapping their feet, without really getting disruptive. It's a good environment for this sort of music. A lot of jazz bands in bars and restaurants tend to sort of blend into the background, getting just a smattering of applause from the nearest table. It was nice both the musicians and patrons at Le Fou-Bar enjoying themselves. Besides the music, it seems like a pretty standard-issue bar. Not unpleasantly loud or crowded, even with the music. A bunch of beers on tap, mostly from Montreal's McAuslan brewery. The French reviews mention a large whiskey collection, but I didn't inspect it closely. I also saw a food menu, though I didn't see anyone eating from it, so it may be prudent to get your dinner elsewhere. The clientele seemed mostly local, and French-speaking, though the staff did speak more English than I spoke French. They did not seem to mind my non-Francais-parlezing ways. So basically, these five stars are not really for the food or drink or service (which seemed standard), but for being a fun, casual spot to listen to some good live music. From what I can decipher on the website, they have someone playing at 9pm every Tuesday.
