The damaged included water damage in dining room ceiling, scratched wood floors and other damage on wood floors, a copper sink they damaged while installing it. Their employee hammered it and scratched and warped the sink ( that was another nightmare to get it replaced and when they finally did they acted like they did me a favor). And I did a stop payment on a check because after trying to get them back to finish because this project dragged on for so long, they stopped showing up . I gave them the benefit , wrote a check and they did not show up the next day, so I stopped the check. They will take zero responsibility on anything that doesn't go right.. it was amazing the excuses they would make up. Zero stars is what they deserve. Horrible! Natural marble evokes images of nature and even the ocean. Quartzite can emit light and allow backlighting on a countertop. If you're interested in that type of thing. For me just seeing light through quartzite is amazing. The one thing I suggest is 1) go well before they close - they don't appreciate last minute browsers coming in at closing time. 2) if you buy - nark your piece or inspect before your fabricator pucks up. Because some slabs come from a group - make sure you choose and mark the one you want.

Installation was on-time by his workers whom were very professional also. Afterwards, the stone begun to chip and stained easily within few months so reached out to Mariano. He was kind enough sending his workers to help fix the problem but that didn't work. Few months later he replaced the counter top without any problems / rebuttals. We, unfortunately, dealt with Joe for our basic 60" vanity top. It was a complete disaster from…read morestart to finish. Workmanship and especially customer service are completely lacking. We will most definitely be looking elsewhere for the rest of renovations. This was our awful experience: It took a week for Joe to get a hold of the template guy to schedule an appointment for which he never showed up. Joe, of course, did not take the blame or apologize for the no show. When the measurements were finally taken we were told by Joe that it would be less than 2 weeks to fabricate. Four weeks later and after countless unanswered messages from Joe, we finally got the word our counter was ready (by calling ourselves- don't expect them to do their job). We scheduled the install and they showed up without the back splash because, according to the installer, they broke it while cutting (when we asked Joe why we were told it was all done if it had broke while cutting he changed his story saying it broke while loading onto the truck). We were underwhelmed with the product and installation. There was a large gap left between the wall and counter top. We complained & Joe said the side splash (which we did NOT want or order, but apparently paid for) would cover it- we had no choice but to use the side splash at this point. We just got the back splash and side splash installed and they are too short for the counter top. I expected everything to be perfect considering it took a month for a 60" vanity top. Precision is important in this industry, but apparently not to Gem. The polish on the stone is not good, the measurements taken were not correct and Joe was an absolute horror to deal with. They take no responsibility for their mistakes and they did not reduce the price for our troubles and the poor quality of their stone or offer us a corrected back splash for their measuring error. Save yourself a lot of stress, wasted time and money... go elsewhere.
