This is probably the first five star review i am giving to a restaurant where i kind of didn't hand…read moreover any cash. Why so you ask? ....so having booked a tour taking me from Geneva to the Chamonix valley there was an option to have a the lunch included for an extra 20 euros which made sense being that what we ended up having would have cost around 50 euros. I wish i wrote these reviews sooner so i could explain the starter and desert but all i can say is that they were great. The mains is the dish i do remember, there were two choices and i went for the grilled salmon and it had to be possibly the best grilled salmon i have ever had in my life. Like so delicious i even took a bite out of my friends when she was not looking. The service was superb with it not being so busy we had an attentive waiter at all times. Location is at the foot of the mountains, and right in Chamonix town but maybe a bit out of the way now i am back in England :(

Besides that, the place is also child friendly! Food served very fast and prepared with fresh ingredients, which could be told by tasting my daughters hamburger. No frost burger but the real stuff!!! We returned 3 times in the afternoon, chilling on their comfortable terrace. Be aware; the part where the sun beds / lounge chairs are located, is self service zone :s However if you are lucky you'll have the same waiter as us, who was working hard and willing to fulfill our thirsty needs ;) Also a great DJ was playing super cool beats through speakers placed late afternoon-ish ;) So if you are at Avoriaz, definitely go to this stylish place!!!

Do yourself a favor and come to this restaurant. Convenient to anyone staying in Argentiere and…read moreimmediately across from the train station, this restaurant feels like you're in the middle of the French Alps. Which you are! It has a locals vibe and is always packed at dinner time. The restaurant isn't fancy -- plenty of people in mountain casual attire; but the food is outstanding! We came here 2x on our trip, after a couple fabulous meals in Chamonix. Pricing isn't cheap-- we spent €100 for two both nights, with one shared appetizer, bottle of wine, and two entrees. That said the food was excellent. We had (over two nights): 1. Fondue with Mushrooms: a dream come true. We ordered one serving, for both of us to share, both nights. Creamy, warming, and dreamy. A must. 2. Lamb Tenderloins: gamey with bone in. My husband loved it. 3. Filet with mushrooms: reasonable portion in a delicious creamy mushroom sauce. Savory and filling. 4. Salmon entree: omg. This dish is amazing. Best salmon with anchovy butter. Ever. Licked the plate clean both nights. Tender, crispy, and flavorful. Absolutely dreamy.

I've been there many times in years, and it has always been a wonderful experience. The menu is typical from this region: raclette, fondue, tartiflette, croutes, salads... perfect food to recover from a long day of skiing / hiking /climbing. The wine list is also worth trying. Service has always been perfect, and the atmosphere is so nice: one wall is entirely painted with the Mont Blanc. Beautiful! The room is small though, so I suggest you book up a table.
