Reine Sammut knows exactly how to feed (and love) her patrons and I cannot recommend her restaurant more highly. If ever in the Luberon region, please make a visit to this 'contemporary'-Provencal-garden gem. As you can tell already, my review is less for the room (which was simple, cozy and down-to-earth) and more for the extraordinary experience we had on their dining terrace. To give a bit of background, my husband and I were on the road for a couple weeks in Provence already and while everywhere we dined was delicious, I regretfully must admit that all our 3 hour long fine dining meals did begin to blend into each other...it was until our meal at Auberge la Feniere that something stood out again and both the experience and food were distinct. We both did the summer discovery tasting menu and this is exactly what we had: -Foie gras citron cream mousse-foam -Tomato tartar of the garden, bacon "bellota bellota" like a pan con tomato -Bush ravioli, coco cream sparkling and pistou -Sea Bass steam with coriander, tagliatelles of courgettes violin and stuffed flowers (or) -Roasted young pigeon, with garlic confit, crusty giblets and fried girolle mushrooms -Selection of fresh and mature cheeses from Mr Rostand -White peach syrup, honey tile and verbena ice-cream Everything was incredible but our absolute favorite dish of the entire meal and 3 week trip was the tomato tartar appetizer with bellota ham in a crisp shell. I would go back JUST for that, and I'm pretty sure we will go back! (Presumably one of the reservations was for later in the evening.) I was on a mission to find magret de canard, and only Bruno offered it on the limited, perfectly seasonal menu, which is clearly designed around the best available ingredients each day. The canard dish here came au xérés (sherry). Little did I know that it was to be accompanied with some perfectly cooked carrots, a bit of potato, and delicately sliced and layered squash and tomato concealing a perfectly soft, melt-in-your-mouth bed of aubergine. I believe that garlic was involved too. In any case, I'm not sure if it was intended to be an interpretation of ratatouille or a unique creation, but I don't care as it caused me to squeal with gastronomic pleasure. I haven't even mentioned the canard yet, which was the perfect temperature (pink enough with plenty of flavor but neither saignant nor overdone), and served in small, delectable pieces. The presentation was beautiful and I was happy and satisfied after this dish, which I accompanied with a glass of house red (at the server's suggestion) and preceded with the soup of pesto and mackerel. I'm so glad they squoze me into the evening's operation. The meal was worth every cent (and was reasonable, all things considered). Should I ever have cause to dine in this adorable little hamlet in future, I'll be sure to reserve a table in advance as I'd return in a heartbeat!

Recommended to me as an authentic regional restaurant (Provençale) by the friendly folks at the Tourist Bureau, this restaurant was pretty good. I can't judge how authentic the food is, given that I'm a new tourist, but I enjoyed the experience. The WiFi worked well, the basic table wine was good, and the leg of lamb dish I received was very well presented and tasted very good. The service was very friendly and efficient. On this pleasant fall day, the (very large) outdoor area was open and filled with French diners, with a nice view of Cours Mirabeau, one of the main picturesque streets in Aix-en-Province.

This restaurant has a large outdoor seating area just off the plaza. We were seated in a great table with a view of the plaza. The setting was great; the food was even better. We both had salads with a large stuffed tomato. The presentation was excellent and the salad was absolutely delightful with the freshest produce I'd ever had. I might try another day since I enjoyed the city so much.
