English: Strange…read more The owners live in a section of a large building with the rest of the spaces set up as rooms to let. On a piece of high ground with great views of the river below. Lots of distant road and water traffic to view, without the noise. Quaint decor of oldish furniture. A decent large bed. What is off-putting is the commode, which is part of the large open room, set aside with only a folding screen. Let's just say that privacy is not part of the package. If a person were staying alone in this room, this would not be a problem. It is, otherwise. Put your toilet in your living room and you have an idea. A short drive down the hill takes you into the small town. It was probably a mis-communication, but when I met with the landlord to check out he would only accept cash. We were leaving in the morning, so I had to drive into town to locate an ATM. I did, got the cash and we left early the next day. We thought it was a bit high in cost, given the lack of amenities and privacy. Not recommended. French using English keyboard: Étrange.

We stayed here 2 nights Sept 1 and 2. The property is very…read morenicely appointed with hand made furniture in the rooms, leather reading chairs, spacious bathrooms, and nice firm mattresses. There is a sauna and an exterior Jaccuzi which my wife and I enjoyed immensely. Despite all of this, the manager, Regis Barthe, who is also the chef, has no support staff! He was handling everything from checking guests in, to showing the rooms, answering the phones, check outs, cooking, waiting on tables, bartender, and maitre'D ! He was completely left floundering for himself... And somehow pulled off the most incredible meals! The guy is a European trained chef, and prepared his own creations from the local terroir... Such as filet de canard, and chèvre braisse. He is an exemplary chef, but the owners of the place need to pay attention and give him help... He can't do it all. We've given 3 stars only because of the lack of staffing... You can't serve guests properly with one guy, the chef, doing it all!! We'd go back for his meal genius alone, but the owners better help him out.

We enjoyed a drink on the comfortable porch before going in to the cozy dining room. Menu was small but varied enough and was local based. We enjoyed some pork, duck, gand veal along with good salads and delicious fresh vegetables. Smoked salmon appetizer made on premise was excellent. Classic french cuisine. There was a fish and beef option as well. Everything was nicely presented. This was definitely as good a meal as any we had in Quebec city Regis, the chef, and his wife Claire, both from France, were both charming and very helpful as inn managers as well. Claire booked us on a whale watching tour the next AM in Baie-St-Catherine which was well worth it. We had to leave before breakfast the next morning so Regis prepared a delicious mignerone cheese sandwich for us to take on the road.
