Well, I made two mistakes going in the door here, first I thought I was in a Thai restaurant but it wasn't.
Then I thought it was predominately an Indian restaurant. Nope, while the mom & pop owners are from that sub continent and some Indian food is offered the chef is a classically trained and award winning chef specialising in cooking European cuisine.
Now that I've clarified my own errors we both opted for a lunch special deal of chicken tikka masala with rice and an onion bhaji on the side at around £11 which is a good deal.
The food was tasty and the portions were generous, but in terms of an Indian meal we put it at a fairly good three star. In my view M&S best ever chicken tikka masala is a tastier more complex tasting dish.
The chicken was not from a tandoor and to be fair, as I may be being unfair here, they likely don't have one, as the chef is trained in and specialises in serving European cuisine.
If we are in this town again we'd likely look to dine somewhere else but we wouldn't be adverse to another visit. read more
