I was wrong…read more My family had been going there for many years and it was generally alright, however I experienced terrible treatment from the doctor after a mistake from their front desk. I asked for an estimate for glasses and made it known (twice) that I didn't wish to order right away as I had to build up funds in my flex spend account. I received a call a week later saying glasses had arrived! I told them I wasn't ready and reminded them hadn't requested any, the desk apologized said "alright". A day later, I received an irate call from Dr. Mootz himself, calling me a liar and accusing me of trying to scam their system. No matter how calmly I tried to explain the situation and his desk's error, he wouldn't hear it. I offered to buy out the frames and lenses once I had the funds, but Mootz demanded it immediately. I asked him if my family's entire business was worth this confusion and he wouldn't respond. I then told him I could no longer bring my family there. Mootz' actions were rude, inflammatory and dishonorable. I've given it much calm thought and can no longer support Mootz clinic. Their lack of customer service and attention to detail is appalling, both from one of the doctors and select staff. I am greatly disappointed to lose this conveniently close relationship. Sometimes we make sacrifices to support local business as it's what keeps the engine of community running. But we can only go so far in support when a business gouges its customer in price (I found the same frames and lenses for $300 less online!) and insults them in action. Shame on you Mootz Clinic. *Addition* Similar practices, such as rude behavior, accusations and untimely errors in delivery and prescription have also lost Mootz the business of an entire industry of over 400 employees here in Le Sueur. A change in service is desperately needed if Mootz wishes to retain their customer base.
