Nice place, the staff was a bit odd, disorganized (took her 10 minutes to find a ridiculously outdated rental contract for the instrument), mumbles a lot. Great rental price though! ($15 per month rent to own). That said, even though the rental price was low, the purchase price was high ($250) especially since it was used , a quick internet search showed the same violin for much less. But it seems to be a trend in music storefront in general for the price to be inflated. It was a bit weird because I rented thru the SLO store, but I was specifically told to only call the Santa Maria store to pay the rental fee each month. Anyways, we went ahead and purchased a violin elsewheee so we'll be returning the rental. But I'd probably shop here again, nothing really bad to say, they were just a bit odd.

I literally called back a few hours after their message. It would have been nice, polite and not to mention professional on their part, if they would have called me back and let me know 'hey, the spot was filled' or 'hey, let's get your child signed up'! Why bother calling a parent about an open spot and get said child excited just to drop the ball and not call back. I understand a business being busy, but being courteous goes a long ways.

I wanted my son to have a good foundation from the start and to love it early on. Rather it be a chore for everyone. Dr telvede had questions about my son and instantly I knew she was the one. She asked personality questions and this determined whether she knew how she was going teach him. He is 7 years old and after a month he is learning fur Eloise (beginner version) but I'm shocked! My son enjoys his lessons, I'm thrilled w the progress. Yes, she is expensive, but I don't feel like I'm wasting our time. There is definite progress. My 2 year old is getting a little 5 minutes here and there. She is upset when she doesn't get her turn. Dr teVelde really knows how to motivate these kids. Her method is totally unique to what I had growing up. I think we will be with her for many years to come!
