Rachel excels at determining exactly which lab tests to order, how to interpret them, and then how to prescribe the best supplements to correct the problem. She is especially adept at resolving hormonal issues and cholesterol problems, but can handle any medical problem, and especially preventative care. However, she is also there with a hug at the right time when needed. She is brilliant, caring, and very kind-hearted, and this comes through in her holistic approach. Rachel really helped me and gave me my quality of life back. She listens and takes the time to get to the real root of the problem. I truly trust her and her body of knowledge and can't I imagine not receiving this kind of healthcare. I am super happy with the high-quality healthcare I am getting from Rachel. The only downside to Rachel's practice is that her office does not bill insurance plans and she is not a preferred provider on PPO plans and is not on any HMO plans, so she is out of network. However, this is understandable given that dealing with insurance companies is an unpleasant, full-time job. Therefore, her services are expensive, but are worth it, so overall it's a good value. When it comes to your health, it's really worth it. If you just want to take a pill for the rest of your life and are OK with all of the possible side effects, then integrative medicine is probably not for you. However, if you want to be able to spend quality time with your doctor and be able to talk to and work with your doctor to get to the root of the problem and solve it, and not just mask the symptoms, then Rachel is who you want to see for your healthcare.

Last week they scheduled me an appointment to see her for today and told me I would be going to the Santa Cruz office which is no more than 2 miles from me. Well then I get a voice mail at 7:30am this morning telling me to call into the office. I call in and the lady that answered the phone has no clue why I am calling - I told her someone left a message for me to call into the office. She said is this for your appointment in Watsonville today? I said Watsonville? No one ever mentioned anything about Watsonville when we were scheduling the appointment. She said Oh that is why they were calling you. I told her that I need to reschedule for an appointment in Santa Cruz only and that this is just a consultation and not an important visit. She said all visits are important and that she is pretty booked at both locations - she didn't help me one bit. I said fine - I will just find another doctor and she said ok and hung up the phone..... Seriously? I just told you that I cannot miss that much work - this was only a consultation. Please do your job and just schedule me at the next available time for the Santa Cruz location...how hard is that? So I am sorry. 2 stars.
