I had an x-ray taken about 6 months before that showed my cartilage was very thin in the area. I had a steroid shot that helped for several weeks by his colleague. My pain had gotten really bad radiating to my knee and down from my hip. Dr. Christophersen said that pain in my knee and down wasn't associated with the hip which isn't true. He wanted me to get another opinion and I would have to go over the hill to the San Jose area to a doctor, I was already in so much pain, He didn't seem to care. His colleague thankfully gave me the name of an orthopedic surgeon from Golden State Medical Group in Capitola. Each time you see a doctor it takes a month to get an appointment, This Dr. took an x'ray. In a month he scheduled me for hip replacement surgery. He also did the anterior approach with is a much quicker recovery than the posterior approach which Dr. Christoffersen performs. Its been four months and I am back at Zumba with little pain. I am thankful to have been sent to this doctor by his colleague. I really felt like Dr. Christophersen had no sympathy for my pain. He could have taken another x-ray and seen it was deteriorating.
