This was likely some of the worst food I have ever had and was unquestionably the worst pizza I have ever tasted. My brother and I each ordered our own pies and they were absolutely disgusting. I forced myself to take a second bite just to be sure and I regretted it. I'm not sure what the sauce was maybe beans? We tipped paid and left without a scene but I will always remember this place for all the wrong reasons. read more

Our kind of place. Great little expat divey bar right on the Malecon. View is incredible, drinks are stiff and inexpensive, and the denizens are friendly and entertaining. Dogs welcome to boot! Went there for happy hour on Friday. Ended up sitting next to Mrs. Augie and Augie himself at the bar. Great folks....they really have a good thing going here. They handed out free chicken wings for everyone, but since we're veggie, we didn't partake. Classy move though. We will be back before we leave, and in all subsequent trips to the lovely town of Loreto. Highest recommendation. read more

Made the terrible decision's of goin in after seeing El Calorón was closed(next door) the service was awful, not to mention over priced. I left my food untouched but still paid for it. There was a couple of patrons at the bar they had already had to much to drink. The server never was extremely rude. She was either new or just a bad server. AVOID THIS PLACE unless you want terrible service and food. Even the drinks were weak. I would not recomendó this place to anyone. I can't comment on their bait. We stumbled on to this place in search of a respite out of the late February winds. (Sadly, we had to cancel our whale watching trip.) Augie's provided a haven on the upper deck allowing for enjoying the beauty of the Cortez while we recovered from the disappointment of missing the whales. Don't t let the little chihuahua with the extreme underbite deter you from opening the front door...The staff was fantastic and our food was very good. We had the fish tacos & chips and guacamole. No-nonsense, classic American food along the malecon. Enjoy views of the ocean and Isla Carmen while sipping a libation or dining. I syaryed with the the 57 Margarita then sipped a couple shots of mezcal. For dinner my wife and I each had a burger and shared guac and chips. Burgers were thick hand made patties, slightly overcooked, but better to play it safe. The fries were perfect. OMG. The BEST chocolate clams I have ever had. Usually they only serve them on Wednesday but you can special order the day before you'd like to eat them. We mowed through 3 dozen in about 10 mins. They were perfectly prepared with butter and garlic. I can honesty say I have never had clams this good before. I wished we had ordered more. Augie's is a locals hang out where the owner is present. He is an ex-pat from the US so English is spoken. The view can't be beat, the drinks are great, but again, the clams are to die for. read more

We liked this so much we came back twice. It's one of the few places in Loreto that is indoors and has air conditioning. The woman bartender works hard and makes good drinks. The food inexpensive and well prepared as well. We had a range of items from shrimp tacos, sushi, hamburgers, fish of the day. The only thing that was so/so was the sushi. Everything else was great. Definitely a fun little spot. We'll be back next time we're in town. read more

Just REALIZED that I haven't written a review for one of my FAVORITE places in paradise! OMG! Ok, first off Augie is a gem and hands on owner(great thing!) secondly they have an awesome happy hour, thirdly the VIEW OF THE SEA is to die for!!! Go upstairs. And a plus, the food's sports bar worthy. Yes it's a sports bar and a good one, BUT much more. Do yourself a favor and come down and try it out. You won't be disappointed. I promise! read more

We apparently missed the crowded with tourists part. We generally experienced just a few folks-- mostly expats who live part time in Loreto and part time in Canada or U.S. or wherever home is. It is dive bar quality a bit raucous but that's part of the cool. We did hit a happy hour on taco night and the bar was packed but there is an upstairs patio with even better view and the service was faster given less folks. We had some good conversations and although service was sometimes distracted they do pretty well. If you happen to be by between 4 and 6pm and there is tall older gentleman across the street at the ocean with a pretty female German Shephard who is all about diving into the ocean after thrown sticks, please tell Tom that Ty and Diane say hello from afar and give Luna a pat on the head and a toss of the stick for us.
