    Photo #1 My hair, color/extensions I came into August Pearl Salon with.

    It is very disappointing to have to write this review as I would rather not have to but I don't know what else to do. I have been a licensed stylist myself for 24 years and I am certified in some types of extensions. The main stylist I saw was Randi-Ray. I originally wrote her a good review but after a few people commented on my hair and how much blonder it looked (not the crown) I noticed how different it was to when I originally came in. I am providing 7 photos. Photo #1 is of my gorgeous hair/extensions that I came in with and all I wanted was for it to stay exactly the same with my extensions moved up as they were. The only difference was I just needed a couple of my highlights on the top blended a little more but they all went much too dark. Photo #2 is what I show a stylist and my hair is based on that photo. Multiple times throughout my appointment, Randi cut down my stylists work from CA that I had paid $1600 for and my original stylist from Santa Barbara, CA Talk of the Town by Tami did an amazing job as can be seen in photo #1. Randi decided that her way was better but I did not get a better result as I ended up very blond and Randi did try to redu the extensions, but then they ended up too dark as you can see in the photo number 3. I tipped her as well when she redid them. I paid Randi, August Pearl salon $800, within that was a generous tip. I needed to add a few highlights back into the top/crown so I offered to pay to have it redone. She booked me with her assistant. I believe her assistant is a good stylist, however she put the foils in going the wrong direction so my hair still looked dark. I had showed her the photo #2 that I model my hair after and described exactly what I wanted and result was photo #4. I paid another $100. I messaged Randi, sent a photo showing how dark my hair was still and it didn't even look like it was highlighted. Randi sent me back a text saying that there is a lack of communication as to what I wanted and she fired me as a client. I called the owner, Jodi and told her what happened. Jodi agreed to put in a few highlights. When I got there, Jodi was very nice and I showed her the photo #2 of exactly what I wanted. I thought for sure this time I would have highlights that would show up like the photos #1/#2. After it was dried, my hair was still hardly any different (see photo #6) She said that she wanted it to blend with the bottom but that again was not what I asked for. I then showed her photo #1 as that is how I walked into her salon and she could see that there was a clear difference and she said that she would talk to Randi. I messaged Jodi to get an update a few days later. See photos of Jodi's text messages to me. There was not enough room to type them out so I had to do screen shots. I could not believe it. I again re-explained that I walked into her salon looking like photo #1 and now I look like photos #3-5, nothing like what I came in with or what I wanted and now my hair had been bleached and processed 3 times at her salon. I also paid fairly. I also explained that my extensions were coming out as you can see in photo #7. She completely ignored me. Unbelievable! I was very specific as to what I wanted with photos and how I came into the salon. I was in NO WAY difficult to work with as Jodi saw for herself. I was no different with her than the other 2 stylists. It's very obvious that her other stylists were gaslighting me to save their reputation with their boss Jodi and making me the client look bad. Also, if they took anymore time to fix it the way I paid for, then they would be losing money as time is money for them. The photos are clear, I paid almost $1,000 to August pearl and now I have to pay another stylist about $500 to fix my color for the 4th time and my extensions in terms of color for the 3rd time and the fact that they are coming out. I would not recommend this salon as Jodi stated they make you sign a form stating that they do not do refunds, yet they won't fix what you pay for. Photo #6 After Jodi attempted to highlight my hair as a showed her photo #2 (Still can barely see any highlights) Photo #7 Extentions coming out that Randi did. All photos are time stamped and correspond with my appointments at August Pearl Salon in Nashville, TN.

    Alyssa is a magical faerie or you can call her a hairdresser that fixed my hair. Before her, my hair had a harsh grow out of two different lines of red near my roots & everything was choppy; not cohesive at all. We first did a consult which was super helpful to figure out what was doable and what I wanted. Plus we talked price & things no other hair dresser ever discussed with me before like what I want it to look like pulled up and half up. I was so hesitant with getting my hair done by someone else after a bad experience from another salon. Alyssa made me feel at home & she felt like a friend I've had my whole life. That is how easy our conversation flowed. Highly recommend her 100/10 and make sure you add on a conditioning treatment! They have snacks, drinks, a heated chair for the shampoo bowl. It was such a relaxing experience. My hair turned out better than I could have ever expected. I am obsessed! She is magical, very knowledgeable & you can tell she loves what she does. If you're looking for red or any transformation, she can without a doubt do it!

    I have been seeing jodi every 6-8 weeks consistently since October 2015. From the very beginnings of APS, Jodi has grown her business and her team with incredible care and attention to detail. If you have hair and you want an educated, passionate, and wildly talented stylist, look no further than APS. Our first appointment, she rescued me from my hair crisis and brought me back to my favorite red hair color after I spontaneously dyed it box black in college. Though I always want my hair to be some shade of red/maroon, Jodi makes each style unique, vibrant, healthy, and beautiful. The other girls at the salon are so nice - they are a big family and when you come in, you're a part of it. Sit back, relax, and enjoy your "me time". After years of stylist hopping my boyfriend finally took my advice and now gets his hair done here by liv and loves her work as well. I can confidently recommend any of the stylists here, because jodi is a phenomenal teacher and boss and makes sure her staff is always learning and growing. After experiencing the customer service and the incredible quality here, I'm not sure why you would want to go anywhere else. #TeamAPS for life!

    Nashville Curlies. GO. SEE. LIV. I've been to two other Deva Curl stylists in the area and have never had as good of a cut or style as I did today. She worked with me on sensitivities to the Deva Curl cleansers, asked tons of questions before the cut, and gave me lots of tips as she styled my hair. She is my go to curly hair girl now and I'm already looking forward to my next cut. She was awesome! I had to take a picture before I even left the parking lot of the salon!

    Finding what I call a "hair partner" is always a journey when you move to a new city. After visiting a few other people, my coworker suggested that I visit Jodi. Honestly, I won't bore you with the details considering my before and after is the header of this Yelp page. She took my tattered hair and gave me the bloody vampire fantasy red that I begged her for. I could not be more thankful for Jodi and the girls at August Pearl. Katelyn is fantastic at cuts and Erin is blow out master! I know I could walk in and any of them would take care of me and my hair. I finally found my home salon!

    I have been to 3 different salons in the last month trying to find someone who could handle my blonde! I FINALLY FOUND THIS AT AUGUST P! Katelyn is amazing, is an understatement. She really listened to me, and helped me turn my orangey yellow hair into a beautiful blonde. I could really tell she was passionate about her profession, taking time and pride in her work. I had believed that the initial rate I had been paying would be honored at the new salon. I normally get highlights and blow dry. However on this initial visit I only got highlights. So I was surprised and disappointed when I went to check out only to find I was charged an even higher rate for full hilites then I paid for that and haircut when it was Aqua Bella! I just believe if you have been a ten year patron you should at least be treated as a valued client. I should have walked out of Oxana platinum blonde not partially blonde for the price they charged me. There are a lot of other salons in Nashville who will appreciate their customers and care about not just how salon looks but whether they have done enough to get repeat business especially as there was hardly any customers and place was gutted. Therefore at this point I have no incentive to go back. Charging too much is never a good look no matter the salon.
